Top cities for house sitting in Australia

Are you going away but have a pet that prefers to stay in their own environment? Or perhaps you have a range of different animals and it’s not practical for you to organise for them to stay in different places? Then you might want to consider finding a Pawshake house sitter to come and stay at your Rosetta TAS home while you are away.

House sitting is a convenient and affordable option when you have multiple pets and also want your house to be securely looked after while you are away. Many of our pet sitters have very reasonable house sitting rates because they enjoy staying and exploring different local neighbourhoods like Rosetta TAS.

At Pawshake, we understand that trusting your home to a stranger can be a little daunting. So we’ve done all the hard work to ensure that your Pawshake house sitter is trustworthy and reliable. All our pet sitter profiles are checked individually by our dedicated trust and safety team and some house sitters also have their own police checks which they can share with you.

The best thing about engaging a Pawshake verified house sitter is that you can relax knowing that on top of being covered by The Pawshake Guarantee which includes veterinary coverage, so your pets are being cared for in a familiar environment and your Rosetta TAS home is also being looked after as well.

In addition to looking after your pets, most of our house sitters will happily help you by collecting your mail, taking out the bins, and watering your plants. Just make sure you discuss all your requirements with your chosen house sitter prior to booking.

Hello, I'm Holly :)
I have a strong love for animals and have always had them in my life.
(I have a lot of experience, I'm new to this site but have plenty of references on others)
I am lucky enough to have recently moved to Tasmania from Melbourne and so excited to be studying social work. I also work as a freelancer photographer. Petsitting works so well with this, I love spending my study time and editing time at home with a pet and playing with them / taking them for a walk on my breaks.
I love creating a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for pets while their owners are away. I provide loving, reliable care tailored to the unique needs of each pet.
I love taking dogs on adventutes, to the dog parks and the beach.
I'm a tidy house guest and will leave your house better than I found it.

I have a great love for cats and dogs and have looked after both for friends. Now that I am retired my time is more flexible to look after your pets. I can keep them company, feed them, play and walk them when required. I will be available for regular visits and up to 1 hr walks or play. You will find me to be reliable and caring and I will take great responsibility for your pets needs. My nursing background has provided me with good problem solving abilities and reacting calmly in an emergency.I have a beautiful old tabby of my own called Furry Purry who needs medication daily, so if your dog or cat requires the same I am able to accommodate their requirements.I rely on house/ pet sitters when I travel. I understand how important it is to leave your pet in safe hands and to have good communication and trust.I would love to meet you and your pets and care for them if you feel I am the right fit.

Hi, I’m Aga, 48, Hobart local and have the flexibility to keep your pets and home safe and happy while you're away.

About Me:
Im balancing study towards two qualifications (Massage & Finance), so I'm very much a homebody, and enjoy the quiet rituals of yoga, nature time and gardening.
I've grown up with animals since the age of 4, when my parents began breeding German Shepherds and our family began training and competing in pedigree, obedience and tracking competitions. I've lived in numerous countries and have had so many pets over the years - dogs, cats, birds, fish, chickens, and even a tortoise name Karoo! But of all of them, the two I miss most: my trusted German Shepherd Troy with whom I earned many awards in obedience and tracking competitions, and Buddy - a street dog in Thailand that adopted me when I lived there, and taught me how anything will flourish, under the right conditions.
The Ideal Pet Match:
I’m not just a pet sitter; I’m a dedicated 'home-body', and offer a stable, loving environment for animals who, like me, enjoy calm and companionship.
I prefer stays of 1 to 3 weeks, allowing your pets and me to settle into a happy, stress-free rhythm.
I adore all animals, but at the moment I am a perfect fit for a household with 1-3 mature cats or dogs (and a few chooks is ok too!) - those who are happy with a calm environment and one quality walk or short play sessions throughout the day. I'm not the best sitter at the moment for high-energy puppies under 3years of age.
Your pets will have my full attention, lots of talking to and cuddles and lap-time while I work and study remotely.
Clean & Tidy Home:I’m a meticulously tidy and organized person who thrives in clean, calm environments (and a good internet connection!). This makes me the perfect match for homeowners who take pride in their home space and want a sitter who will treat their home with the same level of care and respect. I’m a ‘leave it better than I found it’ person, so I ensure your sanctuary remains sparkling and peaceful while you’re away.
Seamless Transition Offer: I also offer an optional concierge service for airport transfers—making your departure and return as seamless as possible.
I’d love to meet you and your furry family members to see if we’re a good fit!

Hello! My name is Belen, and I am a reliable, caring, and responsible person who truly enjoys spending time with animals. Being a pet sitter is something I find very rewarding because I love providing pets with attention, companionship, and a safe environment while their owners are away.
I have experience caring for dogs of different sizes, personalities, and energy levels. I understand that every pet has unique needs, and I always make sure they feel comfortable, loved, and well cared for. Whether it’s feeding, walking, playing, or simply keeping them company, I am happy to adapt to their routine.
As a pet sitter, I prioritize safety, cleanliness, and communication. I know how important it is for pet owners to feel confident that their pets are in good hands, so I always treat every animal with patience, kindness, and respect.
For the health and safety of all animals in my care, I only accept vaccinated pets into my home. This helps create a safe environment for everyone and gives pet owners extra peace of mind.
I am available every day after 3:00 PM and can also be available on some mornings with prior arrangement. I am flexible and happy to coordinate schedules whenever possible.
I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members and providing them with the best possible care while you are away!

Hi there! My name is Gabriela and I LOVE animals!!!
*Currently just accepting home visits for CATS ‍
I see myself as an animal lover. From a very young age, my parents taught me to love and care for animals; I grew up with 2 adopted cats who died from old age. I still miss them very much. At my grandparents' house, we had tons of dogs, all very special to me, I used to dress up as a vet and play with them for hours. Now I'm a happy mother of a 3.5-year-old ragdoll who I rescued from being sent to the animal shelter, I didn't hesitate to adopt her for one second -It’s been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, she brings joy and happiness to my life.
I love to spend 30 minutes+ on each visit, making sure all their needs are covered, food and water bowls are filled out, litter is clean, and lots of cuddles and love are given. I can give oral medication, and I feel very confident doing it as I have some tricks under my sleeve to be able to do it without being a stressful time for them. I am also happy to look after your plants -if any-, bring your mail, put the bins out, anything that makes your life stress-free while you are away.
I love to keep you updated and send photos of your furry ones when I'm with them, this way you can be 100% sure they are being well taken care of. I love to have open communication with you and that you feel comfortable and calm as you leave your loved ones in really good hands. For me, a pet is a part of the family and I treat every pet as if they're my own.
If you have any questions just send me a message and I would be more than happy to answer them.
Looking forward to hearing from you
Gabriela.

Hi there, we're Josiah & Lixie!
Originally from New Zealand and France, missing our dear pets back home is what first drew us to petsitting. Since then, we have pet-sat around the world, from anywhere between 2 days to 3 months - anything is possible if it's the right fit! We truly adore animals, from cats and dogs to parrots, iguanas, and chickens - it is such an absolute joy for us to spend time with and look after your pets as if they were our own.
We're a professional couple working in the city, and without the means to have our own pets at the moment, it is one of our greatest joys to look after your beloved pets of all shapes and sizes! Outside of our (almost) full-time jobs and hanging out with furry friends, we love hiking, rock climbing, and camping when we get the chance. We're also both artists, so when the weather doesn't permit the above, you'll find us doing photography, crocheting cardigans, or just hanging out playing card games with a good cup of coffee.
We take your trust very seriously when caring for a pet and/or house, maintaining kindness, cleanliness, and safety. It's very important to us that we meet you and your pet either in person or virtually prior to committing to a sit, ensuring that we're the right fit for each other.

I’ve been an animal lover for as long as I can remember, and caring for pets has always brought me joy and purpose. Growing up surrounded by animals taught me the importance of patience, compassion and understanding each pet’s unique personality.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of caring for dogs, cats and small animals for family, friends, and neighbours, which has given me a solid foundation of hands-on experience. Working for RSPCA has extended my knowlege and experience in animal handling.
My motivation as a pet sitter is simple! I want to provide the same level of love, care and attention that I would want for my own pets. I know how important it is to feel at ease while you’re away, knowing your pet is safe, happy and well looked after.
I tailor my care to your pet’s needs. Your furry friend’s comfort and happiness will always be my top priority.
I unfortuantly cannot look after your furry companion in my own home!
I am located in Hobart and am very happy to travel longer distances if needed :)
