Top cities for house sitting in Australia

Are you going away but have a pet that prefers to stay in their own environment? Or perhaps you have a range of different animals and it’s not practical for you to organise for them to stay in different places? Then you might want to consider finding a Pawshake house sitter to come and stay at your Medina WA home while you are away.

House sitting is a convenient and affordable option when you have multiple pets and also want your house to be securely looked after while you are away. Many of our pet sitters have very reasonable house sitting rates because they enjoy staying and exploring different local neighbourhoods like Medina WA.

At Pawshake, we understand that trusting your home to a stranger can be a little daunting. So we’ve done all the hard work to ensure that your Pawshake house sitter is trustworthy and reliable. All our pet sitter profiles are checked individually by our dedicated trust and safety team and some house sitters also have their own police checks which they can share with you.

The best thing about engaging a Pawshake verified house sitter is that you can relax knowing that on top of being covered by The Pawshake Guarantee which includes veterinary coverage, so your pets are being cared for in a familiar environment and your Medina WA home is also being looked after as well.

In addition to looking after your pets, most of our house sitters will happily help you by collecting your mail, taking out the bins, and watering your plants. Just make sure you discuss all your requirements with your chosen house sitter prior to booking.

Hello everyone!
My name is Felipe, I'm a Brazilian Tour Guide and also a pet lover, recently arrived in Gold Coast!
In Brazil I have waiting for me two dogs, Niti and Ronaldo, and two cats, Gaya and Lola. Only god knows how much I miss them 🥹
I came to Austrália to study and I'm learning so much, was the first time I left Brazil and I'm enjoying this experience, so they will have to wait for me just a little more! In the moment they are with the good care of my family there.
Can you see why this job would be perfect for me? I love to be with pets, with all my heart. I already do this always that I can and without being paid!
You can count on me, I would love to spend some time with your pets. I'm not a professional dog trainer, but i can teach with love the basic commands and discipline for them.

Hi! I’m Julie, a reliable and caring pet sitter who treats every fur-baby like my own. I am bilingual, I speak both English and French. I do house and pet sitting, walks and visits. I cannot offer boarding at this time. I have access to a car for eventual emergencies. I’m comfortable with dogs of all sizes, cats with all personalities, and small animals too. I have extensive experience with dogs of all sizes and cats. I can administer simple medications, stick to routines, and will always respect your pet’s boundaries. My goal is to build trust at their pace.Whether your cat is shy, your dog is anxious, or your pet just needs consistency and soft handling, I create a quiet and reassuring environment that helps them feel safe. I address them by their name in a calm but assertive manner when needed. I don't take dogs off leash unless asked by the owner. If you’re looking for someone attentive, trustworthy, and easy to reach, I’d love to help care for your pet(s).Notes: I can provide references from the Perth area. If desired, I can send updates and photos so you feel connected and at ease.

Hi, we are Arthur and Maëla, a caring and reliable couple based in North Coogee. We genuinely love animals and understand how important it is for pet owners to know that their companions are safe, comfortable and well cared for while they are away.

Between us, we have experience caring for dogs, cats, fish, hamsters, ferrets and horses. We have grown up surrounded by animals and have spent many years looking after family pets, including energetic dogs, senior dogs, shy cats and rescued animals. We are patient, attentive and happy to adapt to each pet’s personality, habits and needs.
Arthur has cared closely for family dogs, including a Beagle and a Labrador. He enjoys spending time outdoors, walking dogs, brushing them, playing with them and giving them gentle attention. He is comfortable with calm neighbourhood walks, beach or park walks where appropriate, and shorter, gentler walks for senior dogs or dogs with lower energy. He is also happy to follow your instructions regarding lead manners, recall, socialisation with other dogs and preferred walking routes.
He is comfortable helping with everyday care such as feeding, refreshing water, cleaning bowls and maintaining a pet’s usual routine. His background in gardening and landscaping also means he is comfortable looking after homes, gardens and outdoor areas with care.
Maëla grew up with dogs, cats, fish and horses, and has been around animals throughout her life. She also worked for more than six years as an au pair and sitter for several families in Paris, where she was trusted to look after children, homes and, often, family pets. She is calm, responsible and attentive, especially with cats and animals that may need time to feel comfortable with a new person.

We can provide loving and practical care during walks, home visits or house sitting. During each visit, we can follow your pet’s feeding routine, refresh water, provide playtime and companionship, clean litter trays or cages, and give plenty of affection. For dogs, we adapt walks to their age, energy level and usual routine. For cats and smaller pets, we take a quiet and patient approach and respect the time they need to feel safe.
We are happy to send regular photo and message updates—ideally after each visit or walk—so you can feel reassured while you are away. If your pet has specific care needs, please let us know in advance. We can carefully follow written feeding, medication and routine instructions where appropriate.
In an emergency, we will contact you immediately and follow the plan agreed with you, including contacting your preferred veterinarian if needed.
We know that every pet is different. Before a booking, we would be happy to meet you and your pet, learn about their routine, personality and any special needs, and make sure you feel fully comfortable with us.

Hi everyone !
I’m Sam, a responsible and reliable engineer in my early 30's mostly working from home. Originally from Belgium, I'm a huge animal lover with over 5 years of sitting experience and would be delighted to care for your pets while you're away. Whether it’s daily walks, feeding routines, playtime, or just some company and cuddles, I’m attentive and gentle with animals of all kinds. I’ve previously cared for dogs (small and large breeds), cats, and animal farms like chickens, pigs, and sheeps.
Outside of work, I’m passionate about classical music (I’m a professionally trained pianist and violinist), meditation, and spending time in nature—from beach walks to bush trails. I’m naturally tidy, calm, and reliable, with plenty of house-share experience, so I know how to care for a home as if it were my own.

Hello! My name is Nabil, and I’ve always had a deep love and respect for animals. Growing up surrounded by pets taught me the joy, comfort, and companionship they bring into our lives. This passion led me to become a pet sitter, where I can provide pets with the same love and care they receive from their owners. My motivation to be a pet sitter comes from the happiness I feel when spending time with animals. I understand that pets are family, and they deserve to feel safe, comfortable, and loved—even when their owners are away. Whether it’s feeding, walking, playing, or simply keeping them company, I enjoy every part of the process.I have previous experience looking after both dogs and cats, including administering medication and following special diets. For the safety of all animals in my care, I only welcome vaccinated pets into my home. I aim to create a calm, clean, and pet-friendly environment where your furry friend will feel at home.

We are a couple from Treviso, Italy, Martina is Australian too. We have been together since 2011. We both love nature and all kinds of animals and this is one of the main reasons why we became vegan
We both grew up in Italy's countryside with animals around us: dogs, cats, fishes, hamsters, birds, chickens, cows have always been part of our families.
In 2020 we moved to Australia where we have been working and travelling. Stefano is an experienced Italian chef and Martina an hospitality worker.
In 2023 we joined another pet sitting platform and it was a great idea as we deeply love pets and we had many unforgettable experiences looking after cute dogs and cats. We can look after unvaccinated pets also.
We think that taking care of lovely animals is super overwhelming and we can't wait for the next pet sit
In our free time we love to travel and have long walks in the nature. Martina loves yoga and Pilates.

Since I was little, my life has been surrounded by animals. Animals are the most beautiful thing in life and they are a fundamental part of the family, they are our children and I always do everything for them. In Chile I have two children, a kitten (Kobi) and a puppy (Marley), they are the most important thing in my life and I raised them from a very young age, always concerned about giving them the best of having their vet checks up to date, giving them their deworming pills. and to have our game routines but above all to spend moments together and give him all the love in the world. Whenever I see an animal in trouble or with an injury I don't think twice and I try to help and cure it and I always try to help foundations that rescue animals. Being able to care for and help animals gives me such great happiness that there are no words to describe the love I feel for them. They are the most beautiful thing in this life and they teach you so many things, it is a unique and pure love which surprises you every day with its craziness but above all because of the love that they give you every day, which is an unconditional love. The bond you create with them is enormous to the point that they know how you feel and surprise you with their actions.
