Top cities for house sitting in Australia

Are you going away but have a pet that prefers to stay in their own environment? Or perhaps you have a range of different animals and it’s not practical for you to organise for them to stay in different places? Then you might want to consider finding a Pawshake house sitter to come and stay at your Holt ACT home while you are away.

House sitting is a convenient and affordable option when you have multiple pets and also want your house to be securely looked after while you are away. Many of our pet sitters have very reasonable house sitting rates because they enjoy staying and exploring different local neighbourhoods like Holt ACT.

At Pawshake, we understand that trusting your home to a stranger can be a little daunting. So we’ve done all the hard work to ensure that your Pawshake house sitter is trustworthy and reliable. All our pet sitter profiles are checked individually by our dedicated trust and safety team and some house sitters also have their own police checks which they can share with you.

The best thing about engaging a Pawshake verified house sitter is that you can relax knowing that on top of being covered by The Pawshake Guarantee which includes veterinary coverage, so your pets are being cared for in a familiar environment and your Holt ACT home is also being looked after as well.

In addition to looking after your pets, most of our house sitters will happily help you by collecting your mail, taking out the bins, and watering your plants. Just make sure you discuss all your requirements with your chosen house sitter prior to booking.

Ive volunteered and walked multiple neighbours dogs in the past. Since 2019 I have been walking my step Mums neighbours Border Collies on a regular minimum 3 week basis, these walks usually last 5.5-6km, 2 hours. Mainly walking Border Collies and Kelpies (have walked Staffies before) over my life, with volunteering to walk other neighbours dogs. Have grown up with Border Collies and Kelpies, and also a Minature Fox Terrier. As a child we had a pet Dobberman/Rotweiller.Have been a dog lover my whole life. Im usually a bit lenient when it comes to behaviour on walks. 2 things i try my best with dogs on walks:1. Stopping (and sitting where trained) before crossing roads. 2. Doing my upmost to not let dogs eat anything while on walks (in case of accidental bait poisoning). If there is a dog off leash area, im happy to let the dog off the lead pending recall training, and no other dogs/humans present.

Hi! I’m someone who truly enjoys spending time with animals, and I’m currently available full-time to help pet owners with house sitting and pet care. I can visit your home to look after your pets, and I’m also happy to be a house sitter — whether it’s just for the day or staying overnight. Since I don’t have other work at the moment, my schedule is very flexible and I can adjust to the times that work best for you.

I can help with dog walking, cat walking, feeding visits for both cats and dogs, playtime, and basic cleaning. Because I don’t have a car, I can only take bookings in areas that are reachable by public transport. If a bus or light rail can get me there, I’m happy to come!

I’ve had my own pets before, including a golden hamster and a rabbit, so I’m also comfortable looking after small animals like hamsters or rabbits. I try to understand each pet’s personality and make them feel safe, relaxed, and cared for while you’re away.

If you’d like to know more or discuss your pet’s needs, feel free to message me here. I’d love to meet your furry (or tiny!) family member

Hi! I’m an animal lover who genuinely enjoys caring for pets and making sure they feel safe, comfortable and loved. Animals have always been a big part of my life, and my love for them has gone beyond simply having pets of my own.
One of the experiences I’m especially proud of is rescuing and fostering 7 kittens who needed a safe place to stay over 3 years. This taught me a lot about being patient, understanding different personalities and routines, and giving animals the reassurance they need when they are in an unfamiliar situation.
I’m happy to care for cats and dogs and will follow your pet’s usual routine as closely as possible. Depending on the service, I can provide feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime, companionship, toilet breaks, basic grooming and cleaning up after your pet. I’m also happy to follow specific care instructions provided by owners.
My services include: Dog boarding, home visits, Day care for dog or cat or both.
I’m a calm, responsible and tidy person, and I understand how important it is to feel confident leaving your pet with someone else. My aim is for your pet to feel happy, safe and cared for while you’re away.

Hi!
I am from an animal-loving household and as I am not in a position to get my own pet at the moment, I would be so happy to look after your furry friends.
I am happy to walk your dog, feed your cat, or look after your pet at your place temporarily while you are at work or on a holiday.
I grew up with cats and horses and I have looked after cats and dogs in the past - from anything between an afternoon to up to three weeks consecutively. Previous pet sitting jobs included, dog walking, house sitting with cats, administering medications, plant sitting, .. Whilst I mostly have experience with dogs and cats, I am also open to other pets!
I work part time as an arts administrator so I have availability Thursday-Sunday for appointments of any length (house visits, 30 min. dog-walks around Kingston/Griffith/Barton area, full-time supervision, or home sitting) and any time of the day. I am also happy to look after your plants during your absence.
Mondays to Wednesdays I can only do the evenings or home stays as long as your pets are fine to be alone during the day. If communicated with at least a week notice, I can arrange to work from your home on Mo/Tue/Wed to supervise your pet, but I would need to confirm every stay individually.
Since I grew up with pets, I know how to move safely around the house (including kitchen, garden access, windows, etc.) and how to keep your pets and home hygiene in check.
Excited to hear from you!

Hi I'm Kayleigh, an experienced vet nurse originally from the UK. I have a degree in veterinary nursing and companion animal behaviour, teaching puppy school back in Scotland. I cannot be with my own fur babies so would love to share my time with your pets, giving them comfort and care when you are away.
I am available for check ins, meal times, medications, walks and overnight care.
I have experience with all shapes and sized animals, while working professionally and pet sitting for friends and family. I will be working part time in a clinic in Canberra so will have a lot of free time to look after all your pets needs!
I currently live with two gorgeous cats Pumpkin (Calico) and Indie (Tabby) who love to get up to mischief.
I cannot take pets to my accommodation.
Please let me know your pets favourite toys, treats, scratches and their preferred routine to help minimise any confusion for them
Unfortunately I cannot look after rabbits due to allergies.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Kayleigh

My names Astrid and I’m currently offering pet sitting services in Canberra!
I am currently 16 and still in school and have a lot of experience looking after animals of all kinds.
Honestly animals are my calling and I spend almost every hour of my day surrounded by animals and genuinely love looking after dogs, cats and everything living.
A little bit about me:
-I am a great plant owner as-well as pet owner so I can keep your leafy friends alive while your away
- I am very comfortable administering meds (I have prior experience with cats and dogs)
- I have 2 very high energy dogs- a border collie and Brittany spaniel, as-well as a cat
- I love walking dogs ( long bush walks are my favourite)
- I absolutely adore playing with cats and my feather wand skills are unbeatable

I am a very trust worthy person (which is the most important thing about me). Since trusting a stranger in your house can be pretty nerve racking I always make sure you and your animal are safe and comfortable.
