Top cities for house sitting in Australia

Are you going away but have a pet that prefers to stay in their own environment? Or perhaps you have a range of different animals and it’s not practical for you to organise for them to stay in different places? Then you might want to consider finding a Pawshake house sitter to come and stay at your Fishing Point NSW home while you are away.

House sitting is a convenient and affordable option when you have multiple pets and also want your house to be securely looked after while you are away. Many of our pet sitters have very reasonable house sitting rates because they enjoy staying and exploring different local neighbourhoods like Fishing Point NSW.

At Pawshake, we understand that trusting your home to a stranger can be a little daunting. So we’ve done all the hard work to ensure that your Pawshake house sitter is trustworthy and reliable. All our pet sitter profiles are checked individually by our dedicated trust and safety team and some house sitters also have their own police checks which they can share with you.

The best thing about engaging a Pawshake verified house sitter is that you can relax knowing that on top of being covered by The Pawshake Guarantee which includes veterinary coverage, so your pets are being cared for in a familiar environment and your Fishing Point NSW home is also being looked after as well.

In addition to looking after your pets, most of our house sitters will happily help you by collecting your mail, taking out the bins, and watering your plants. Just make sure you discuss all your requirements with your chosen house sitter prior to booking.

Hi, I’m Megan! I’m a huge animal lover and have been surrounded by pets all my life. Growing up I cared for dogs, cats, and rabbits, so looking after furry friends has always come naturally to me. I’ve also spent time working with horses, so I’m very comfortable around animals of all sizes and temperaments.

I’m based in Merewether and offer local dog walks, drop-in visits, and house/pet sitting, with a wider travel radius. I work full-time during the week, so I’m best suited to evening visits and have more flexibility on weekends.

I understand every pet has their own personality and routine, and I always try to keep things as consistent as possible so they feel comfortable and settled in my care. Whether that’s walks, playtime, feeding, or just some extra company and cuddles, I’m happy to adapt to whatever your pet needs.

I’m also happy to send photo updates while you’re away so you can relax knowing your pet is happy and well looked after. I treat every home and pet with the same care and respect as my own.

Perfect for busy schedules, weekend plans, or time away — I offer a calm, reliable, and low-stress service you can trust.

I’d love to meet you and your furry babies

Hi, I’m Mollie, a passionate dog lover and proud owner of a 15-month-old Labrador named Larrie I work from home, which means I’m fully flexible and available to give your dog plenty of attention, exercise, and care. I’m reliable, patient, and dedicated to making sure every pup feels safe and loved while in my care. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your dog, so I make sure every walk, visit, or stay is safe, fun, and tailored to their needs. Whether it’s social playtime, a relaxed stroll, or a beach adventure, I’ll treat your dog like one my own—making sure they’re happy, comfortable, and well looked after while you’re away. I’m happy to follow any routines or special instructions, whether your dog needs extra exercise, medication, or just a bit of extra love and reassurance. I’m also confident with energetic dogs and enjoy getting them out for walks, playtime, and fresh air. Regular updates and photos can be provided so you can feel at ease knowing your dog is in good hands.

I am an absolute lover of all animals and if I could afford to have all the animals I would! I've been a dog walker since a very young age. I have two of my own fur babies but because I'm partner is home with them I am able to stay and give some attention and love to someone else's fur babies on the nights that you maybe can't! I do have a day job but I have selected times and days working around that. I promise to love and care for your pets as if they are my own. I understand the stress of leaving animals with someone and rest assured I am amazing with them. I am 28 years of age, i can go on many walks with dogs or stay home and read and laze around with a cuddly cat. I love the beach so if your dogo loves the beach I am happy to take them.

Hello :) I'm Louisa, in my early 30s, and originally from Germany. After completing my Master's degree (Global Health) in Sweden, I moved to Australia with my partner about a year ago and have been able to gather ample of pet sitting experience.
I primarily offer pet care in the home of pet owners and therefore enjoy walking dogs in their familiar surroundings. This maintains routines, so the dogs feel safe and can enjoy their familiar paths and favourite places.
I lived with my own dog for over 13 years. She was a rescue and a beloved family member to me. Through her, I learned not only about the daily care but also the responsibility and patience required to provide an animal with a happy life.
During my travels, I was also able to gain valuable practical experience: In Romania, I worked at an animal shelter and a clinic for dogs and cats, in Spain, I helped at a dog rescue center, and in Malaysia, I supported a cat rescue. My duties there included administering medication, bottle feeding, and providing intensive care for sick and young animals.
In addition, I took on numerous pet-sitting assignments last year, including around 20 multi-day assignments in Australia – many of them for recurring clients.
I am excited to expand this network through Pawshake :)

Hi, do you need a reliable pet sitter for the weekend, a night away, or an upcoming holiday? If so, I am happy to help! While I don't have professional sitting experience, I grew up with animals and currently care for two cats, a dog, and fish.I am almost finished studying my Certificate II in Animal Care at TAFE and plan to pursue further animal studies. This formal education gives me a strong foundation in animal health, nutrition, and safety. Additionally, I bring hands-on industry experience from working at a pet shop and as an apprentice dog groomer, meaning I excel at proper animal handling, grooming maintenance, and reading body language.I am extremely reliable, trustworthy, and ready to give your beloved pets dedicated care, affection, and routine consistency. I am always happy to arrange a free meet-and-greet beforehand to ensure a perfect match. Please don't hesitate to reach out anytime!
