Top cities for house sitting in Australia

Are you going away but have a pet that prefers to stay in their own environment? Or perhaps you have a range of different animals and it’s not practical for you to organise for them to stay in different places? Then you might want to consider finding a Pawshake house sitter to come and stay at your Cashmere QLD home while you are away.

House sitting is a convenient and affordable option when you have multiple pets and also want your house to be securely looked after while you are away. Many of our pet sitters have very reasonable house sitting rates because they enjoy staying and exploring different local neighbourhoods like Cashmere QLD.

At Pawshake, we understand that trusting your home to a stranger can be a little daunting. So we’ve done all the hard work to ensure that your Pawshake house sitter is trustworthy and reliable. All our pet sitter profiles are checked individually by our dedicated trust and safety team and some house sitters also have their own police checks which they can share with you.

The best thing about engaging a Pawshake verified house sitter is that you can relax knowing that on top of being covered by The Pawshake Guarantee which includes veterinary coverage, so your pets are being cared for in a familiar environment and your Cashmere QLD home is also being looked after as well.

In addition to looking after your pets, most of our house sitters will happily help you by collecting your mail, taking out the bins, and watering your plants. Just make sure you discuss all your requirements with your chosen house sitter prior to booking.

Hi, my name is Mikhaila. I have had the absolute joy of owning and looking after pets my entire life. I currently have two dogs of my own a large mastiff cross and a small toy poodle cross. I have gone through the pet sitting cycle myself so I know what works well and what doesn't so this will allow me to meet all yours and your pets needs.
I have flexible availability as I work from home 4 days of the week which will allow me to give the dedicated care and love each pet requires.
I have experience administrating medication if this is required for your pet.
I offer pet sits at the owners homes, walks and day visits and can cater to most needs however unfortunately are unable to have pets stay at my home.
Thanks so much and I look forward to meeting you and your lovely pets.

Animal lover since birth, I have been around animals of all shapes and sizes for as long as I can remember. Alongside a dog I also own two horses and eight goats. I have been caring for pets on my own since age 14 living on a farm and have noticed animals have a natural trust in me that I wish to only build upon in my sitting and walking work. I have cared for family, friends and strangers pets previously with no problems at all as well as dogs from abuse and other rescue situations.
When booking with me, please let me know of any special needs, medications or behavioural differences your pets may have so I can give them the care they need tailored to them. I am happy to give updates to pet parents as often as you would like to ensure you have the peace of mind that your fur baby is happy and cared for at all times!
My goal is to make every interaction with your pets a positive one, as such I do not use dog parks due to the inherent risk of off-leash dogs and other hazards. I will happily run with energetic dogs however or work with pets in a private yard.
I am currently studying in the animal care field from home and work casually, so I am flexible with my hours on available days. I do not offer stays at my home at this time as I live in a small apartment building.

Hi, I'm Mayra, I'm 24 years old and I absolutely love animals! Growing up, I have always had animals in my life – dogs, cats, birds, fish and more. Since moving to Australia for my studies, I haven’t been able to have pets of my own and I really miss the companionship of a loyal friend! That’s where pet-sitting comes in. It’s an ideal way for me to earn a little extra money and to enjoy that special connection with animals too. It’s a win-win situation for me! I’m available in the evenings and on weekends to look after your fur-baby in the comfort of their own home, and I’m very flexible and happy to work around your specific requirements. I can stay for a few hours or the whole weekend, drop in for a visit or two, or take your pet for a walk – just let me know what you need, I'm here to help! If you’d like to book me in for pet-sitting (or arrange a meet-and-greet) please just drop me a message to discuss you and your pet’s needs and it will be my pleasure to take the very best care of them.

I’m a responsible, kind-hearted pet carer with a genuine love for animals and growing hands-on experience caring for dogs and cats for friends, family, and local clients. I follow consistent routines to ensure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for.

Dog walks are usually 30–60 minutes depending on energy levels, always adjusted to the pet’s pace and needs. I’ve handled nervous pets, leash pulling, and shy animals by using patience, calm energy, and positive reassurance to build trust.

During home visits, I follow a clear routine: feeding, fresh water, toilet breaks, cleaning if needed, playtime, and companionship. I always check that pets are safe and comfortable before leaving.

I manage my schedule carefully to handle multiple bookings responsibly, making sure each pet gets full attention without rushing. I’m available weekdays and weekends with flexible hours.

If any issue arises, I stay calm, monitor the situation, and contact the owner or vet if needed. I also provide regular updates and photos for peace of mind.

I have been a kids nurse for 25 + years but only work a few days a week now and would love to fill my other days with dog walking, dog sitting, just generally dog days!
I have lots of friends and family with animals and have dog sat for many of these friends with both overnight and week long stays and love spending time on the couch with my favourite paw friends
I am home a lot during the day and am happy to have dogs here or to come to peoples houses to be their pups minder
I try to stay active on my days off and go to the gym 3 mornings a week but would love to do something on my days off from the gym. I enjoy exercise and would love to include a dog into my weekly walks to encourage me to walk more/longer!
My roster changes weekly (the benefit of working as a shift worker in a hospital!) but I am happy to provide my availability a few weeks in advance (or book off time in the near future as able)

As owners of three gorgeous Burmese cats, we understand theimportance of cats staying at home instead of boarding at a cattery. We have foundthat cattery stays cause them great stress and expose them to viruses from otheranimals and illness from stress itself. Since discovering Pawshake, we exclusively use the service ourselves.
