Top cities for dog boarding in Australia

Being a city with stunning coastlines, Perth pretty much guarantees beautiful scenery and many outdoor activities for you to enjoy with your furry best friend. However, at Pawshake we understand that as much as you would like to bring your dog with you everywhere, sometimes you have to consider dog boarding because it might not be possible to include your dog in certain activities or if you need to travel.
That’s where we can help! Pawshake helps to connect you with many pet sitters all across Perth who offer dog boarding services. This means that you can find someone in your local Perth neighbourhood who will open their home to your dog and love them as much as you do. The dog boarding services that our sitters offer is unlike any kennels. Kennels have a much higher dog to staff ratio and therefore your dog does not get as much one on one time. Not to mention that if your dog is used to a home environment, sending them to a kennel can place some stress on them because it’s so different.
With Pawshake’s dog boarding services, your dog will stay in another home environment and be around more familiar surroundings. Not to mention, there will be a lot more attention, cuddles and love from your dedicated Pawshake pet sitter.
We asked our Pawshake sitters what they love doing with their dog boarding clients and here are some of their recommendations. One of their favourite activities to do with their more active dog boarding clients during really hot Perth days is to head to Rockingham Dog Beach. It’s also safe for dogs because the water is very shallow and still – a perfect place if you are introducing your dog to water for the first time. The other popular option amongst dog boarding sitters is Mosman Dog Beach in Fremantle where the water is also calm and shallow.
If your dog is not into getting wet or maybe is a bit less active, our dog boarding sitters suggest that another option for really hot days is to find a local dog friendly café or pub to relax in with a cold beverage. Many dog friendly cafes also now serve puppachinos for your pup so they don’t feel left out while you are enjoying your drink. The Leaky Tap in Mosman Park even goes one step further and serves theirs in a toilet bowl shaped cup!
Or also try heading your local Perth hardware and garden centre store like Bunnings and wander around. The different sights and smells will keep your dog entertained. Call the store before visiting if you are unsure, but many allow dogs to wander inside as long as they are on a lead.
At Pawshake we understand that it is not easy to entrust your furry best friend to a stranger. This is why our dedicated team checks all sitter profiles thoroughly and those that offer dog boarding must also have pictures of their environment. You can also read reviews left for them by other pet parents like you. This is important to us because we want you to have confidence and feel comfortable with where your dog will be spending their time during their dog boarding stay.
All Pawshake dog boarding bookings in Perth come with our premium insurance and access to our 24 hour customer support team. Your Pawshake sitter will also send you plenty of updates of your dog’s adventures during their dog boarding stay so you can have peace of mind while you are away.

Hey there, my name is Sarah-Lee, I am here to help if you need a sitter/walker at your place or mine wherever is best for that individual pet! I adore animals particularly dogs and this is my way of helping the community and getting to hang with all of your furry friends.
Although I work full time, I can be available some mornings and evenings and definitely most weekends so please contact me if you would like a helping hand! I cant wait to meet you and your pet/s!
I am a 40 y/o female, working and studying. I am an animal loving, mature, kind, safe and reliable person. Where I live there is a moderate sized garden with an enclosed space for animals to roam safely. Doggie walks and visits or pet sitting in your own home may be preferred or more suitable.
Living in the Perth Hills offers fantastic dog exercise areas, one of which on the outskirts of Kalamunda: Jorgensen Park incorporates a 2.7km walk and dogs are permitted off-leash. Also Whistlepipe Gully in Mundy Regional Park is such a pretty place to walk, especially during wildflower season.
So far I've had nothing but positive and safe experiences when people book me through pawshake. I think it's a wonderful system and it enables animal lovers and people in need of help minding them to come together!
When viewing my rates please consider that 19% of the fee goes directly to Pawshake for insurance and this site.

I have 5 years of experience caring for my 8 wonderful pets: 4 dogs and 4 cats. During this time, I’ve dedicated myself to ensuring they receive the best care possible. This includes feeding them balanced meals, taking my dogs for regular walks, and providing attentive care whenever any of them were unwell. Beyond their physical needs, I’ve spent countless hours playing with them and, most importantly, giving them the love and affection they deserve.
My experience has taught me the importance of empathy and patience when caring for animals. I’m deeply passionate about their well-being and feel confident in my ability to care for any pet as if they were my own. I believe every animal deserves not just care but also compassion and kindness, and I’m committed to providing that.
My motivation to become a pet sitter comes from my love for animals and my desire to help others feel at ease knowing their beloved pets are in safe hands. Whether it’s following specific routines, administering medication, or providing extra cuddles, I’m here to meet the unique needs of every pet.
For the safety of all animals in my care, I’m happy to accommodate only vaccinated pets in my home. This ensures a safe and healthy environment for everyone involved.
I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members

Growing up in the UK I have had dogs all my life. They really are man's best friend and make life so much more enjoyable. Being away from the UK for the two years, I can hand on heart say I miss my red fox lab the most from home!
It would be amazing to look after and care for your dogs and enjoy what only dogs can offer, unconditional love.
If your dog loves running around and chasing after a ball, I'm your man! If your dog is now older and needs a more relaxed environment I am also more than happy to assist.
At my home or yours, I will ensure your dog feels comfortable and well looked after just as if they are my own.
Look forward to hearing from you all and if you have any questions please go ahead and ask me.
Many Thanks,
Jordan

Hi! We’re Yago and Flor
We’re an active and responsible couple based in Mosman Park who genuinely enjoy spending time outdoors and around dogs. Walking dogs is something we truly love, and we treat every dog as if it were our own.

We understand that every dog is different, so we adapt to their needs, whether they are energetic and need a good run or prefer a calm and relaxed walk. We’re patient, attentive and always focused on making sure your dog feels safe, happy and comfortable.

We both have experience taking care of dogs for friends and family, and we’re confident handling different sizes and temperaments. We’re reliable, punctual and easy to communicate with, so you can feel at ease while your dog is with us 🩷

We only take well-cared-for and vaccinated pets, and we always prioritise safety during walks.

We’d love to meet you and your dog 🫶
