Top cities for cat sitting in Australia

Many cat owners will understand that cats can be fussy and prefer their own home environment rather than an unfamiliar place like a cattery or cat hotel. Although some cats can adapt to cat boarding if they have to, most cats become stressed when transported somewhere new.

This is where a friendly Thomastown VIC Pawshake cat feeder or carer can help. Our Thomastown VIC cat sitting expert can come and visit your cat while you are away on holiday or at work. A cat sitter can even stay overnight if required, which is far less stressful than sending your feline friend to a cattery for cat boarding. Whether you just need a sitter for a couple of hours or someone to visit each day for a week, our Thomastown VIC cat sitters can tailor their service to suit you and please even the fussiest kitty.

Although most cats are independent, having a cat carer visit has a lot of benefits. Your chosen Pawshake cat sitter can feed, freshen up the water bowl, tidy the litter tray, and spend quality time with your cat. And unlike a cattery or cat hotel, your cat can chill out in their own familiar space.

Finally, every booking with Pawshake is with a verified carer and includes the Pawshake Guarantee and veterinary coverage, so you have nothing to worry about when it comes to your feline companion!

Hi there! My name is Sara. I grew up with adopted rescue dogs and cats, so looking after animals is a huge part of my life. I have a special love for puppies, small to medium dog breeds, and absolutely all kinds of cats
I regularly help friends take care of their pets, so you can enjoy your vacation worry-free. ️Please note that I do not host pets at my place. Instead, I offer house sitting to care for your pets in the comfort of their own home.
During a typical visit or stay, I usually spend plenty of quality time with your pets. My routine includes feeding them on time, refreshing their water, cleaning the litter box, and playing with them so they never feel lonely. I can also do basic grooming for your pets, such as wiping their tear stains and cleaning their ears to keep them fresh and healthy. I am also happy to help clean up after them, such as washing their bowls and sweeping around the litter box area to keep your home tidy. Safety and comfort are my top priorities. I will keep your home secure and follow your exact rules. If an emergency happens, I will contact you immediately and take your pet to the nearest vet. I will also send you daily updates and cute photos.
I am very good with animals and I know how to approach them. If your cat or dog is shy, I will not rush them. I know how to give them space and build trust slowly. Let’s be friends, little furry ones

I love dogs! I have had various pets throughout my childhood and adult life. My Gorgeous dog, Samba, passed away two years ago after a long and illustrious life.I now have a gorgeous Greyhound!I walk a lot everyday, usually down by Edgar and Merri creeks, or around my quiet neighborhood, so your dog will get a good amount of exercise.I work as a part-time piano teacher at a school two days a week, and as a performer various days and nights of the week, but I am home a lot, practicing the piano and composing, so can offer care that includes a lot of company! Over the past year I have looked after my neighbor's dog (a Scottish Border Terrier), my sister's dog (a Cavalier), and my friend's dog (a Jack Russell), and they had a good time! My home will be like a luxury hotel for them, with heaps of cuddles, couch-time, walks, and play! I am more than happy to meet with you before they come to stay, so you can meet me, and check out my house. And while your dog is staying with me, I will happily send you pics of their adventures.Communication is important to me, and keeping your dog happy and safe is my goal! Please feel free to ask me any questions.
Thanks! Darrin

Hi, I’m Nic — friendly, safety‑minded and experienced with dogs from bouncy pups to mellow seniors. Happy to have them in my bedroom if it helps them settle.Indoor access: Guest dogs welcomed inside and supervised; climate control available in hot/cold weather.Backyard: Secure, fully fenced patio and grass yard with solid fencing and no way to escape even for the best escape artists. Room to sniff, lounge, and do toileting breaks. Before You BookPlease let me know: age/breed mix, routine, meds, vet info, behaviour notes (reactivity, separation worry, allergies, etc.), and desired dates. I’ll work with you to make a smooth handover.Ready to chat? Send me a message — I’d love to meet your pup!

I’m generally a happy go lucky person who loves a chat and genuinely enjoying helping others. I love exploring the countryside, beaches, and nature. I’ve traveled to many countries and met so many wonderful people along the way. It's instilled an eagerness to try and learn new things. My compassion extends to both humans and animals, and I strive to bring this warmth into everything I do.
I’m a qualified marine biologist with a deep love for both marine and land animals. While my pup have greatly enriched my life over the years, I miss the joy of daily walks, particularly as my senior pup has become my mum’s loyal companion. I’m so eager to reconnect and experience new love with your furry friend.
My passion for pet sitting stems from the bond I share with animals and the joy I find in offering them the same love, care, and companionship I provide my own girl. I have experience in pet sitting and walking, mainly caring for my own pets, as well as those of family and friends when they were away. I only bring vaccinated pets into my home to ensure a safe environment, but I’m happy to visit, walk, or play with pets outside of my home.

Hi pawrents! My name is Arnetta, 39 years old animal lover who'd love to meet your fur-babies!The last time I had pets was more than 10 years ago, a toy-poodle who lived until the age of 14. Before him, there was always 2-3 small dogs at my (parents) house and we just loved them dearly. However, somehow, after I moved out of my parents house I always found myself a rental that didn't allow me to have pets. So, finding out that pet-walking / pet-sitting is actually a thing here excites me! I would LOVE to experience the joy of having pet again, even only for a short while. Your pet will be in a very good hands as I will treat them as my own.I live in Thomastown area and for your pet safety and comfort, I would also prefer if you give me detail instructions on how to care for them. Do let me know if there's any specific requirement and any emergency vet contact. I may not have extensive experience, but I am committed to give the best service you and your dog deserve. If my profile seems like a match for your fur babies, send me a message and I'll be happy to chat more and answer more questions you might have!Additional info: I have active ABN and recent Police Check (from another employer). If required, I can show it on the first meet.

Hey, I'm originally from Germany and have been living in Australia now for two years as my Husbands family lives here. I'm currently in the last stages of my Master's degree of Architecture and luckily its 100% online so i'm able to be flexible and work from Home. So I will have time to give your Pet all the attention they need.
Throughout 2023 and 2025 I met a lot of dogs through dog sitting. With all of these dogs I took them for walks, cleaned up after them and did my best to give them a great experience. Some of these dogs I looked after for a month at a time while others were only a few days. I'm happy to say I've now cared for many different breeds of dogs (Pomeranian, Australian Cattle Dog, Kelpie, Staffy) and they all had different personalities and energy levels.
I have always loved dogs and my main experiences come from two dogs called Queenie and Ella. Our family dog, Queenie (Havanese), was my responsibility to take care of as my mother was working full-time. Queenie got really sick once when my mother was on a business trip and I was able to handle the situation very well.
My brother's dog "Ella" (Staffy) was from the pound and had a difficult past. She was a dog I spent a lot of time with. Ella was so different to Queenie as she was a lot stronger and more aggressive but after training, we grew a strong bond and now she listens to all of my commands. I am proud to say I am one of her favourite people. I also have general knowledge of caring for other animals like cats, rabbits and chickens. In the Last 2 year I've sitted up to 10 different Cats and we used to have Cats and rabbits in my childhood home.
The reason I want to be your next Dog sittier is that i have a lot of love to give and currently the flexibility to do this next to my studies. I also have to damit that I miss my family dog back in Germany terribly and always enjoy making new furry Friends that make me miss the other side of the world little less.

I’m really keen to become a dog walker and pet visitor, especially after losing my own much‑loved dog and realising how much I miss having a furry companion in my daily life. I’m in my 50s and a public servant by day, and spending time with animals is genuinely one of the highlights of my routine. I walked my own dog every day — rain or shine — and I’ve also walked friends’ dogs of all sizes and personalities, which I’ve always enjoyed. Being around animals makes me happy, and I take real care to make sure they feel safe, relaxed, and excited for their outing. I’m available for 30‑minute or 1‑hour walks in the afternoons and evenings during the week, and most times on weekends. I’m happy to follow your dog’s favourite route, and for home visits I can feed your pets, water plants, bring in mail, and spend at least 30 minutes keeping your cat or dog company.

Hi! I’m a passionate and reliable pet lover with a lifelong connection to animals. I grew up surrounded by pets, including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, and budgies, which taught me from an early age how to care for animals responsibly, attentively, and with genuine affection.

Since my teenage years, I’ve been trusted by neighbours and friends to look after their pets, giving me hands-on experience with a wide range of dog and cat breeds, each with their own personalities and needs. I’m confident handling dogs of different sizes and energy levels, and I tailor my care to suit each individual pet. Walks can be up to one hour long, depending on your dog’s needs and your preferences.

I also offer home visits, which include plenty of quality time, feeding, toilet breaks, and attentive general care to ensure your pet feels comfortable and cared for while you’re away. I have experience supporting senior pets and understand the extra patience, gentleness, and attention they may require.

I lead an active lifestyle and genuinely enjoy spending time outdoors, making dog walking a natural fit. I know a variety of local parks and routes, from quiet, relaxed paths to more stimulating sniff spots, to suit different temperaments.

With a flexible schedule, I’m available most days of the week and take pride in providing reliable, loving care. I look forward to bringing companionship, comfort, and joy to pets in my local community.

Hi I'm Andy I'm 23 and I'm in Australia for a cricket season. I'm passionate about cricket, fitness and animals. I have a border terrier at home as well as 2 cats.
I'd love any excuse to get outdoors and get some more steps in with a furry companion. Available for dog walks, runs and potentially dog sitting for anytime during the week Monday to Friday (I'll be playing cricket on the weekend!)
I've had plenty of experience looking after dogs of all shapes and sizes back home in the UK.
Unfortunately as I'm renting I won't be able to look after dogs in my house but I'm available for all other services outside of hosting. I also train in the evenings of Tuesday and Thursday for cricket but I'm willing to miss out on that for the right hound!
Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions.

I’m Flor from Argentina. I’ve had pets all my life (dogs and cats simultaneously), and I
consider them part of my family. Every walk is a special moment for them, so I take the time
to go at their pace so they can enjoy it, sharing games and healthy walks. When it comes to home care, it’s also a space for play and cuddles, so they feel safe.I have experience in dog and cat care for 2 years. I’m always ready to listen to what you have to say about your pet, its needs, and preferences, so that the experience for both your pet and you is as pleasant as possible and both feel comfortable.Im responsible, attentive, and always aim to provide the best care for your pet. You can trust me to give them the love and attention they deserve! If you need me, contact me! Hugs!
