I have grown up with dogs most of my life and really enjoy their company, since moving to Australia I have missed being around dogs so the motivation isn't only for work but also for my love of dogs and spending time with them! Also have a good knowledge of dogs and their behaviour reference different breeds having worked at a doggy daycare centre before. My schedule varies as I work in a bar currently and do support work but I am also flexible so I can do mornings, afternoons or nights depending on the day and I can manipulate my schedule elsewhere especially if we have a weekly setup. I am offering drop ins so I can drop in and hangout with your pet, clean up any mess, feed them and can administer meds if required. Sleepovers at your place as my place isn't currently set up for that, so anything that is required overnight I can do and also dog walks between 30-60 minutes. My prices are also flexible.

Hi, my name is Kirstie and I have been working full time as a petsitter. I specialise in going to the client's home and caring for their pet, day and night. Unfortunately I am unable to board animals at my home, so please note this when booking my services.
I have been a volunteer at Seeing Eye Dogs Australia for 6 years in that time I was working within the kennels and the puppy training centre. Some of my duties included grooming and washing puppies, making meals and feeding, walking and cleaning up after them.
I have also completed my Certificate 2 and 3 in Animal Studies. I am a huge animal lover! And a huge believer that animals are the best therapy and i love being around animals. I promise you that I will love and care for your pets as if they are my own!
I specialise in offering day pet sitting, and overnight sitting at your home. I am also available for one-off or regular house visits where I can feed your pet and keep them company. This is suitable for office workers or those working long hours and think that their pet may need some company.

My services include providing your pet with a lot of love, playing with them, going for a short walk in your neighbourhood (if required), making sure they go to the toilet and that they have plenty of food and water. I will also bring pet treats for your pets.

About me:
I'm 22 years old and I am in my 5th year of studying a bachelor of Law and Arts. I also work as the Quality Manager for a private RTO called 4 Up Skilling where I work from home one day a week. I regularly compete in showjumping on the weekends and have 5 competition warmblood horses of my own. I grew up on a family sheep and cattle farm 2 hours north of Melbourne. We had a range of different pets: cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, and dogs (including Kelpies, Labradors and Whippets). I own two whippets called Lilly and Hector who live with me in Melbourne. I love animals and thought pet sitting would be a fantastic job to help me through my final years at uni doing what I love. 

Experience: 
My mum was a vet nurse and growing up I volunteered at the vet clinic where she worked in Avenel, Vic. This included helping administer medications, cleaning pet beds, feeding and watering the animals, and walking/exercising the dogs. I also have experience with rabbits and guinea pigs as I owned these pets growing up, which taught me early on of the responsibility of owning an animal. As mentioned above I also have spent the first 20 years of my life on a farm and have experience in managing a range of different animals. I have also dog sat two of my friends dogs before on the days that I have worked from home, Kevin the Labrador and Margot the Labradoodle. 

Services: 
I offer dog walking and home visit services in the Maidstone, Footscray, Ascot Vale, Maribyrnong, and Sunshine areas. I can come to you, or you can drop off your pet to be walked around Maidstone.&nbsp;I am 10 minutes walk away from the Maribyrnong river and offer walk my two whippets along there. There is also an off leash dog park near me where I could walk your dog. I can walk your dog for between 30-40 minutes depending on what they need. For home visits, I would be there for 30-40 minutes and can water and feed you pet, let it outside to toilet, or spend time playing with them. I can also walk your dog as an add on. I will be offering these services on a Monday and Wednesday most weeks, the times will differ to work around my university schedule. I may also offer in the future a daycare service on Tuesdays as I work from home. I may only be out of the house for 30 minutes at a time to run errands. I have a fully fenced back years with grass the services my two dogs wonderfully. The inside of the house is tidy, with little for your dogs to chew or get into. Please keep in mind that your dog would have to be friendly with my two whippets, mine are a year old and two years old and are good with other dogs, but keep in mind their size and the fact they can be high energy at times. I’ve always loved animals, especially small dogs. I want them to feel safe, comfortable, and at home while you’re away. Living in an apartment, I focus on small breeds and create a calm, cosy space where they can relax. I take my time getting to know each dog and treat them like my own.

I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, so I always aim to give you peace of mind with consistent care, supervision, and attention to each dog’s routine and behaviour.

My own dog is friendly, and I prefer to introduce any visiting dogs to him slowly and calmly, usually outside first at a local park to make sure everyone is comfortable.

I usually prefer to take one small dog at a time to ensure full attention and care. However, if you have two dogs from the same household who cannot be separated, I’m happy to care for both.

I grew up with five family dogs and have regularly pet sat for friends and relatives, so I’m confident with different personalities and adjust my care depending on each dog’s needs.

My dog has a bed in both the living room and my room, so visiting dogs are welcome to rest comfortably in shared spaces. Dogs are fed before I leave for work and again when I return home.

I work from home on some days, and on office days I ensure dogs are settled with toys and enrichment to keep them mentally stimulated. Dogs are usually left alone for up to 8–9 hours max, and I always check in on their comfort before and after.

I walk dogs daily for 30–60 minutes once I’m home, usually around safe local streets and nearby parks suitable for small dogs.

In case of emergencies, I act quickly and responsibly and will take pets to the nearest veterinary hospitals in Melbourne, such as Lort Smith Animal Hospital (North Melbourne) or Melbourne Veterinary Specialist Centre (Werribee), depending on urgency and location.

I only accept fully vaccinated and neutered small dogs to keep things safe for everyone.
