Top cities for cat sitting in Australia

Many cat owners will understand that cats can be fussy and prefer their own home environment rather than an unfamiliar place like a cattery or cat hotel. Although some cats can adapt to cat boarding if they have to, most cats become stressed when transported somewhere new.

This is where a friendly Picnic Point NSW Pawshake cat feeder or carer can help. Our Picnic Point NSW cat sitting expert can come and visit your cat while you are away on holiday or at work. A cat sitter can even stay overnight if required, which is far less stressful than sending your feline friend to a cattery for cat boarding. Whether you just need a sitter for a couple of hours or someone to visit each day for a week, our Picnic Point NSW cat sitters can tailor their service to suit you and please even the fussiest kitty.

Although most cats are independent, having a cat carer visit has a lot of benefits. Your chosen Pawshake cat sitter can feed, freshen up the water bowl, tidy the litter tray, and spend quality time with your cat. And unlike a cattery or cat hotel, your cat can chill out in their own familiar space.

Finally, every booking with Pawshake is with a verified carer and includes the Pawshake Guarantee and veterinary coverage, so you have nothing to worry about when it comes to your feline companion!

Loving, reliable care for your pets while you’re away

My fiancé and I offer in-home pet sitting and daily home visits, caring for your pets in the comfort of their own home while you’re away, or popping in during the day while you’re at work.

We know leaving your pets can be stressful — for you and for them — so our goal is to keep their routine as normal and comfortable as possible. We love spending time with animals and want every pet in our care to feel safe, settled, loved and well looked after while their favourite humans are away.

Our experience & approach
We have both grown up around animals and are comfortable caring for pets with different personalities, energy levels and routines. We understand that every pet is different, so we’ll follow your instructions and their usual routine as closely as possible.
For dogs, this can include walks, playtime, feeding, companionship and maintaining their normal exercise and sleep routine.
For cats, we’re happy to provide feeding, fresh water, litter tray cleaning, playtime, pats and companionship, while respecting cats who prefer their own space and allowing them to approach us in their own time.
We’re also happy to care for small animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs and other household pets, following their usual feeding, cleaning, exercise and handling routines as instructed by you.

️ What we can help with
Depending on your pet’s individual needs, we can provide:
Dog walks & exercise — typically 30–60 minutes, once or twice daily as required Walking environments — local streets, quiet neighbourhoods, parks and suitable dog-friendly areas, depending on your dog’s preferences Feeding, treats & fresh water according to your instructions Medication support — we can administer routine oral medication such as tablets, capsules or liquid medication when clearly instructed by the owner. We’ll follow your pet’s normal dosage and schedule carefully.🪮 Basic grooming — brushing, gentle coat care and wiping paws/face when required. We don’t provide specialist grooming, clipping or medical grooming. Litter & habitat care — cleaning cat litter trays and carrying out routine cleaning for small animals according to their normal setup Companionship & playtime in their own home Maintaining their normal routine, including meals, walks, play, rest and bedtime Regular photo & video updates so you can see how your pet is doing Home security — securely locking doors and windows, safely entering and exiting the property, and making sure your home is left secure when we leave

For home sitting, we prefer pets not to be left alone for extended periods. We can discuss your pet’s individual needs and agree on a routine that works for them and for you. For daily visits, we can arrange visit times and frequency around your pet’s normal toileting, feeding, exercise and companionship needs.

Whether your dog is energetic and loves a long walk, your cat prefers a quiet afternoon and some gentle pats, or your rabbit or guinea pig needs their usual feeding and enclosure routine maintained, we’ll tailor their care to them.

Our priority is simple: your pets stay happy, comfortable and cared for in the place they know best, while you have peace of mind knowing they’re being genuinely looked after. ️

I'm believe all pet is family
So my motivation is that I have to be a pet sitter who responsible for them, such as taking care of them like a family.
I have experience caring for dogs and truly enjoy spending time with them. My experience includes bathing dogs, handling them gently, taking them out to play, walking them around the garden or nearby areas, and feeding them at least twice a day, or according to the owner’s instructions.
Before taking care of a dog, I always ask the owner about their dog’s habits, personality, daily routine, things they like, and anything they might be afraid of. This helps me ensure the dog feels safe, comfortable, and happy while staying with me.
I treat every dog like part of my own family and always prioritize their comfort and well-being. As long as the dog is friendly, I am happy to take care of them with full attention and love.
I also provide daily updates to the owner, including photos and videos, so you can be sure your dog is safe, healthy, and enjoying their time with me. Taking care of your pet is a responsibility I take seriously and wholeheartedly.

Trusted, Experienced Pet Sitters Offering Premium Care for Your Pets
Hi, we're Hany and Elli; passionate, reliable pet sitters with extensive experience in dog sitting, dog grooming, and daycare services. Over the years, we've cared for dogs of all breeds, ages, and personalities, providing everything from last minute overnight stays to daily walks and playtime. We understand that every pet is unique, which is why we tailor every stay and visit to suit your pet's individual needs and routines.
Our Services:
- Walks and exercise: We walk dogs once or twice a day, depending on their energy levels and needs. We often visit a quiet, secure dog park just around the corner which is usually empty and perfect for off-leash time and fetch. For dogs who are anxious, reactive, or not yet desexed, we're happy to do individual walks instead.
- Training: We use every outing as a chance to reinforce good habits. We're happy to support basic training like lead manners, sit/stay/recall, toilet routine, and socialisation (with positive reinforcement... treats!).
- Grooming: Hany is a professional mobile dog groomer and can provide gentle grooming. This includes bathing, drying, brushing, coat care, nail trimming, and hygiene tidy-ups. This can be added to your booking by request.
- Medication: We are confident and experienced in administering all common types of medication, including oral meds, eye/ear drops, creams, and dietary support. We also have experience in handling special needs, emergencies, and vet communication when needed.
- Emergency-ready: We stay calm and clear-headed in emergencies as we have the contacts, transport, and procedures in place just in case. We treat every pet with the same urgency and care as we would our own.
- Experience: While we usually only care for no more than 2-3 dogs at a time to keep things calm and personalised, we've cared for up to 8 dogs at once and are experienced in managing group dynamics. We've also provided long-term in home stays (up to 6 weeks at a time) for owners travelling overseas, with regular updates and full responsibility for their pets and homes.

Time Spent with Pets:
We prioritise supervision and comfort for your (and our) pets:
- Your pet will not be left alone for more than 1-2 hours at a time.
- I (Elli) study Forensic Science but only attend uni once a week. The rest is from home.
- Hany works locally as a mobile dog groomer and is home frequently between jobs.
- There is always someone home, so your pets are supervised and cared for 24/7.

Pet care fits easily into our routine, and spending time with animals is our passion and the highlight of our day. We're both flexible and available throughout the week and weekends, including public holidays and last-minute bookings.

Our Home Environment:
We live together in a two-bedroom granny flat (owned by Hany), which is cosy, clean, and fully pet friendly. It's a calm environment where pets can relax and feel at home.
We have a fully-fenced backyard, and while it's on the smaller side, it's secure and safe for supervised play, toilet breaks, and sunbathing. To make sure that your pets get plenty of stimulation, we spend lots of time at the dog park around the corner, where they can run freely etc. we're often there for between 1-2 hours depending on the dogs energy levels.
Inside our home, your pets are welcome to sleep wherever they feel comfortable, whether it’s a dog bed, lounge, my bed, or crate you provide.
We live together (just the two of us), along with our own pet family (listed in our profile). We're careful to match guest pets with compatible companions and introduce them slowly and carefully with meet and greets.
We're more than happy to seperate pets if needed, and we tailour the environment around your pet's behaviour and comfort level. If a meet and greet doesn't go well or if we feel the dynamic wouldn't be a good fit, we will always put the needs and safety of the pets we are caring for first.

Updates and Communication:
We enjoy sending regular photos/videos and cute little updates so you can relax knowing your pet/s are happy, healthy, and having fun (and for our own enjoyment).
Please feel free to message us with any questions or specific needs. We would love to learn more about your furry family and how we can help.

Hi! I’m Fran, a passionate dog lover originally from Spain, now living in Sydney with my partner and our friendly Border Collie, Lobo. Dogs have always been an important part of my life. I also have a family dog back in Spain, so I’ve grown up caring for dogs and understand that they are much more than pets – they’re family.
Living with Lobo has taught me a lot about caring for active dogs, creating consistent routines, and understanding different personalities. Every dog is unique, so I always take the time to get to know them and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved from the moment they arrive.
I provide a calm, caring, and safe environment where your dog can relax, play, and enjoy their stay. Daily walks are adapted to each dog’s age, energy level, and routine, and I always make sure they have plenty of fresh water, playtime, rest, and affection. If your dog has any special requirements, such as medication, a specific feeding schedule, or favourite activities, I’m happy to follow your instructions carefully.
I’ll keep you updated with regular photos and messages so you can enjoy your time away knowing your dog is in safe hands. In the unlikely event of an emergency, I will contact you immediately and seek veterinary care if needed. My goal is simple: to care for every dog as if they were my own and give them a happy, stress-free experience while you’re away. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family member!

Heya ️ I have 2 dogs and 2 cats and absolutely adore them, they're my whole world. I've loved animals since I was a child and even had pet chicks when I was little, if it was up to me I'd live on a farm with all my animals . I'm happy to drive to you & check in on your furbabies and even take your doggies on a walk.
Do not trust anyone that doesn't love animals so I certainly have found my people on Pawshake 🥹
I also am able to assist with allergies as my boys have allergies and know how to cater to them. Also have experience with Dogs who are aggressive because of their anxiety, I know how to navigate and take care of your fur baby safely, for example one of my boys was bullied at a dog park while I was visiting my father internationally who was ill, and I came back to an anxious aggressive dog. So with his trainer I was able to learn how to safely walk and cater to my boys needs when he's feeling uncomfortable in situation so please feel free to reach out as I know when I was looking for someone to take care of my boy I wasn't able to find anyone who specialised or had experience with it so don't be afraid to ask.

Hello, my name is Sharon. I am a 56 yr old Registered Nurse. I live by myself with 2 Jack Russell Terriers and more than 20 Chickens.
I love animals and can't live without them. I grew up with dogs, cats, birds & horses.
I recently loss my regular house sitter who's a mate of mine so I had to find an alternative. This is how I found Pawshake. I found it so difficult to find someone in my area. Hence I decided I'd become a sitter too so we can all get the opportunity to go away when we need to.
Background wise, I have had a constant pet since I was 17. 2 cats. 3 Jack Russell's. Now there's a handful. While I had the 3 Amigos (my nickname for them), I also fostered medium to large dogs for Fetching Dogs. I'm also crazy about chickens & currently have 26 gals.
All my babies have lived to ripe old ages. My current gal Cheeky, is 15 1/2 yrs.
As a registered nurse I have experience in giving medications and can do for your pet if needed.
I am happy to do home visits for you. Dog walking & overnight stays if needed.
I fostered rescue dogs for fetching dogs for many years. I kept them until they got their forever home & treated them like my own. I'm very affectionate with all my animals so I hope yours like cuddles.
Maybe I will see you in the future.
Sharon
