Top cities for cat sitting in Australia

Many cat owners will understand that cats can be fussy and prefer their own home environment rather than an unfamiliar place like a cattery or cat hotel. Although some cats can adapt to cat boarding if they have to, most cats become stressed when transported somewhere new.

This is where a friendly Ocean Reef WA Pawshake cat feeder or carer can help. Our Ocean Reef WA cat sitting expert can come and visit your cat while you are away on holiday or at work. A cat sitter can even stay overnight if required, which is far less stressful than sending your feline friend to a cattery for cat boarding. Whether you just need a sitter for a couple of hours or someone to visit each day for a week, our Ocean Reef WA cat sitters can tailor their service to suit you and please even the fussiest kitty.

Although most cats are independent, having a cat carer visit has a lot of benefits. Your chosen Pawshake cat sitter can feed, freshen up the water bowl, tidy the litter tray, and spend quality time with your cat. And unlike a cattery or cat hotel, your cat can chill out in their own familiar space.

Finally, every booking with Pawshake is with a verified carer and includes the Pawshake Guarantee and veterinary coverage, so you have nothing to worry about when it comes to your feline companion!

Hi I'm Jane! New to Melbourne and would love to get to know the area with a dog buddy.
I'm offering dog walking and home visit services. Not currently offering services from my home but outside of that I'm happy to cater to any of your dogs needs such as extended walking for larger dogs, feeding, playing, cuddling, administering medication or generally just keeping your fur baby company.
My experience is mostly with small dogs as I had Jack Russell's growing up and my dog at home is a wire haired fox terrier but I'm very capable and confident with larger breeds and have some experience with caring for golden retrievers and old English sheepdogs too.
At home, me and my fox terrier, Tilly, love to go for adventures at the beach or in the forest. She loves playing fetch, tug of war, swimming and generally getting muddy and dirty for me to clean up and I'm happy to oblige to the same requirements for your dog.

Hi Guys, I have recently moved to Perth from Ireland and would love to get to know all your little furry friends. I have always grown up with dogs and animals around me since I was young, ranging from cocker spaniels, Rottweilers and German shepherds.I grew up on a farm so l accustomed to animals of all sizes from cows to kittens. I have always had a love for animals and have previously worked in vets clinics back in Ireland.
I have one dog back home named Oisin who is a golden doodle. I am a very active person and love going for walks myself so I would absolutely love to meet and spend time with your little friends.
I can offer you my time to walk your pets for however long you think is best for each pet and I can also call in and do house visits to them too! I currently work in hospitality and work evening shifts, so if morning or afternoon sessions suit you best, then that works perfectly for me.

Hi there! I'm Ava, I'm 19 years old and from Liverpool England, but have been living here in Perth for the past 6 months!
On my days off, I love being active and spending time in nature, whether that be going for a coastal walk, or having a beach day with friends.
My favourite exercise is definitely walking / hiking - as I enjoy exploring different areas and getting fresh air. I understand that dogs that are different ages / breeds may require longer or shorter walks, and would be more than willing to accommodate and adapt depending on the dog. I'd also be happy to go on different routes and during different times of the day to benefit the particular dog.
I've always grown up having pets of my own and therefore have a lot of love for animals.
I have a WA police check and also a lot of experience pet sitting and minding dogs of different sizes and breeds. I'm living in the Hillary's area at the moment, so I am local to many lovely parks and outdoor areas, perfect for a dog walk.
I'd love to help out with your animals, whether that be walking your dogs or petsitting in your home! Feel free to reach out with any enquiries. References are also available upon request.

If you’re looking for someone truly dedicated to animal care, I am exceptional. I have spent 28 years caring for a wide range of animals — from cats, dogs, rabbits, and hedgehogs to even owls. At one point, I owned 50 indoor cats, which taught me immense patience, organization, and the ability to manage multiple animals’ needs simultaneously. In addition, I spent many years feeding and caring for stray animals daily, ensuring they received attention, food, and safety. I am gentle, patient, reliable, and deeply compassionate, understanding that every animal has a unique personality and specific needs. I pay close attention to behavior, diet, and wellbeing, and I approach every animal with empathy and kindness. Your pet will be safe, understood, and genuinely loved in my care. With me, they will receive not just attention, but a nurturing environment where their happiness is the priority. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
My service contains hosting and daycare of cats or dogs.

Hi, I’m Jen — a reliable, caring Hillarys local, lifelong animal lover, local travel agent and small business owner. I work on a flexible hybrid schedule, which allows me to provide dependable pet visits and home check-ins throughout the week.

Animals have always been a huge part of my life and our home. After losing our beloved family dog a couple of years ago, I realised how much I miss having dogs around, which is one of the reasons I enjoy offering dog walks and pet visits while not quite being ready for another puppy of our own just yet.

I’m a single mum to my seven-year-old son Jude, who is also a huge animal lover, so caring for pets feels very natural to us. Alongside our own cats, stick insects and hermit crabs, we love all kinds of animals and genuinely enjoy spending time with them.

I offer home visits for cats, dogs and small animals, including feeding, fresh water, companionship, litter or cage cleaning, bringing in mail, watering plants and general home check-ins while you’re away. I especially love cats and small animals, and I’m also comfortable caring for rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, mice, rats, hamsters and other pocket pets or exotic pets.

I understand every pet has their own personality, routine and comfort level, and I always aim to make visits feel calm, familiar and stress-free — especially for shy or anxious pets. I’m happy to follow detailed care instructions, tailor care to your pet’s individual needs and send regular photo updates for peace of mind.

For dog walks, I enjoy relaxed walks around local parks, walking trails and coastal areas suited to your dog’s comfort and energy level. Safety, comfort and hydration are always a priority.

Having grown up around animals my whole life, I’m comfortable recognising when pets may be feeling anxious, unsettled or out of routine. I stay calm, patient and attentive, and in the unlikely event of an emergency I would contact the owner immediately and seek veterinary care if required.

At this stage I’m focusing on home visits, cat care, small animal care and occasional dog walking rather than overnight stays or boarding pets in my own home.

Typical home visits are around 20–45 minutes depending on your pet’s needs and routine, and I always allow enough time for feeding, cleaning, playtime, cuddles and companionship rather than rushing through visits. I keep my schedule manageable so each pet receives calm, attentive care, and I’m sometimes able to assist with last-minute bookings where availability allows. I request a meet & greet before taking on any booking. During dog walks I prioritise safe leash handling, avoid overly busy areas where possible and tailor walks to suit your dog’s confidence, age and energy level.

Hello! My name is Orla and I am 26 years old and have just recently moved to Perth from Ireland! Animals especially dogs and cats are my absolute passion! What makes me stand out from any other pet sitter is that I have a background in veterinary nursing which I have practiced for over 4 years in which I always deliver high quality care to every animal I meet!
I believe that the owner is always right and I will always listen and take on board anything that you want me to achieve with your pet! I have always loved animals from a very young age and with that the idea of pet sitting/dog walking came to mind as a change in career path! I am a friendly, outgoing and chatty person who will give your pet all the cuddles and attention as if they were my own pet!
The services I will be providing are dog walking and pet sitting whether that be dog or cat. Please make sure your pet is up to date with any vaccinations and also flea/worming treatments especially dogs wanting to be walked as mixing with other dogs may be unavoidable!

I look forward to meeting your furry friends!

My motivation to be a pet sitter stems from my lifelong passion for animals and my commitment to their well-being. From a young age, I have been deeply connected to animals, and this passion has only grown over the years. I believe that every animal deserves love, attention, and personalized care, especially when their owners are unable to be present. Being a pet sitter allows me to provide this essential care and support, ensuring that pets feel safe and comfortable even in their owners' absence. Providing a safe and welcoming environment for pets is something I take great pride in, and it brings me immense joy to see animals happy and well-cared for.

Yes, I have extensive experience taking care of my own animals and my friends' animals in Brazil. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with various species of dogs and cats, each with their own unique needs and personalities. This hands-on experience has helped me develop skills in administering medications, providing post-operative care, and handling animals of all ages and temperaments. My approach is always gentle and patient, ensuring that each animal feels secure and loved.

For the safety and health of all pets in my care, I do require that pets be vaccinated before they come into my home. This policy is in place to ensure a safe environment for everyone involved, preventing the spread of diseases and keeping all animals healthy. I believe that maintaining a strict vaccination policy is essential for the well-being of all pets and helps create a harmonious and safe space for them to thrive.

I have always had a deep love and respect for animals, which has only grown stronger through my experiences owning multiple cats and sitting for many dogs. While I am a cat person at heart, I also have a great affection for dogs and enjoy spending time with them just as much. My motivation to be a pet sitter comes from this genuine passion for animals and my desire to ensure they receive the care, attention, and love they deserve, even when their owners are not around.

What experience do you have with pet sitting or pet care?

I have owned multiple cats over the years, which has given me firsthand experience in understanding their unique needs and behaviors. Additionally, I have cared for many dogs through pet sitting, which has broadened my ability to cater to the needs of different animals. My experience with both cats and dogs has made me confident in handling various situations, from ensuring pets are well-fed and exercised to providing them with the companionship they need.

Do you accept pets into your home?

While I love pets deeply, I do not accept them into my home. However, I am fully committed to providing top-notch care in the pet’s own familiar environment, ensuring they feel comfortable and secure while their owners are away.

I have previous animal care experience. I worked in doggy daycare for a few years, as well as Cat Haven. More recently I was a foster carer for another Perth cat rescue for over a year. I currently volunteer with black cockatoos every other Wednesday, and have previously volunteered with other wildlife, so I am open to looking in on animals other than only dogs and cats.
Currently, I am available on Wednesdays for dog walks and/or checking in on your pets. I am available every other Wednesday AM (due to volunteering), but available every Wednesday PM (after 12pm). Available to walk up to an hour.
Depending on the sizes and how your dogs are on a lead, I am happy to possibly walk two dogs at a time. I am happy to walk them within their neighbourhood and nearby parks. If they are okay in the car, I am also happy to visit a nearby dog beach.
I have a police check that I am happy to provide as well.
Happy to answer any questions!
