Top cities for cat sitting in Australia

Many cat owners will understand that cats can be fussy and prefer their own home environment rather than an unfamiliar place like a cattery or cat hotel. Although some cats can adapt to cat boarding if they have to, most cats become stressed when transported somewhere new.

This is where a friendly Mawson ACT Pawshake cat feeder or carer can help. Our Mawson ACT cat sitting expert can come and visit your cat while you are away on holiday or at work. A cat sitter can even stay overnight if required, which is far less stressful than sending your feline friend to a cattery for cat boarding. Whether you just need a sitter for a couple of hours or someone to visit each day for a week, our Mawson ACT cat sitters can tailor their service to suit you and please even the fussiest kitty.

Although most cats are independent, having a cat carer visit has a lot of benefits. Your chosen Pawshake cat sitter can feed, freshen up the water bowl, tidy the litter tray, and spend quality time with your cat. And unlike a cattery or cat hotel, your cat can chill out in their own familiar space.

Finally, every booking with Pawshake is with a verified carer and includes the Pawshake Guarantee and veterinary coverage, so you have nothing to worry about when it comes to your feline companion!

I am a retired police woman recently relocated to Canberra from Victoria.
I love dogs more than people and also have a soft spot for cats, rabbits and guinea pigs but I am open to looking after most animals. I have two large dogs of my own and have previously had cats, rabbits and fish. I am married and have been with my husband for over twenty years. We do not have children; our dogs are our furbabies.
I am unable to care for pets in my home as my two pooches would not appreciate it! I am very active and love walking, my two dogs are out for at least an hour a day.
I can handle dogs of any size, as my two are a large American staffy cross bulldog and a dingo cross kelpie, and they never seem to want to walk in the same direction.
Two of my dogs have been rescue animals and I have experience working with reactive dogs and believe I have a great understanding of dog behaviours.
I have had animals for over thirty years, and I have been looking after friends' and family members' animals for the past year.
I am happy to care for your pets in your home and to meet the needs of your individual pets. My services include daily visits for feeding and sanitation, overnight stays and dog walking.

I am very much so, an animal lover, whether it's a big dog or small, kitty cat, reptile, rodent or even those unique friends we hold close to our hearts, (talking to you spider and scorpion owners!) As pets light up our life I want to make sure when you're away they get the love they deserve!I have had 2 dogs at once which I walked, washed and played with everyday! There names were Yoda, the Frenchie/Wise One and Duke, the Cavazoo/King Of Wafflton. I have a Central Bearded Dragon named Tigger, who I am fully responsible for, from feeding, washing, cleaning her enclosure, and buying her food. Let's not forget all those fun adventures I have with her in our apartment's courtyard and the costumes I create for her! My brother owns 2 very cute rats, Lily and Bicky, when he is away I care for them and give them very yummy and nutritious meals. I also have more experience then most reptile owners as I have volunteered at Canberra Reptile Zoo in Nicholls, earning me Costumer Services skills and key reptilian knowledge. I also had to learn a lot of random facts to tell the parties of little kids.If you can't tell already I have a passion for pets, learning as much about them and treating them perfectly. I want to walk your pets as I absolutely love exploring new paths, (metaphorically and literally,) making the most of the day and I know the best doggy lakes, dog parks and relaxing routes for your furry friend! As I am experienced in pet care from my family, I am ready to visit your pet everyday when you are away. I can easily treat your pet with respect, care and make sure you don't have to worry when you're on holiday.

I am in my early 40's and an avid dog lover (completely dog obsessed). I have over five years' experience as a volunteer dog walker and have been lucky to have my own fur babies for a decade. At present, I have one gorgeous dog who is very dog and people friendly.
I am confident at walking, visiting and pet sitting dogs of any size and temperament. They're all beautiful to me! I am able to feed, administer oral medication and take care of any other needs your fur baby may have. I believe that dogs are angels on Earth and deserve to be treated like gold, and my aim is to treat your dogs as my own while I'm caring for them. My motivation for becoming a dog sitter - I love being around and caring for doggos!!
I will return to work after birth leave in August (four days per week as a public servant), and will be available for doggo duties most weekday evenings, weekends and long weekends. See exact details of my general availability below.
I would prefer to work on the southside of Canberra to avoid excessive travel, particularly for home visits. But I am happy to negotiate locations on a case by case basis.
Please feel free to make contact! I look forward to chatting about your fur baby.

My availability:
Monday - Friday mornings: Available for dog visits at your home
Monday - Friday evenings: Available for dog visits at your home and dog walking
Friday evenings - Sunday evenings (or Monday evenings on long weekends): Available for dog sitting at your home and dog walking

Hi!
I love animals! All animals. I'm a dog mum myself, but I also love many other pets and have been the carer of cats, bunnies and birds in my home before. I have a Certificate III in Animal Technology and a Graduate Diploma in Zoology, so I also have experience with more exotic pets, including rodents, reptiles and even sheep and cows. (I am however highly allergic to horses, so I must decline working with them).
I offer care visits of half an hour (or more if you would like). This could include feeding, toileting, pats and playtime, or quick cage maintenance tasks like removing recent droppings or food mess. I also have the training in how to give medication, including intravenous and intramuscular injections.
If you live in an apartment like myself, I can take your dog for a short "business walk" as I call it, but I do not currently offer dog walking services.
I'd love to stop by and visit your dog, cat, rabbit, lizard or beloved cow. I can put my professional skills and affinity with animals to use taking care of your special friend. Dogs in particular will try to cross the street just to meet me - but all animals are drawn to my energy. I have a calming presence, and I'm confident in dealing with animals, and regardless of the species it's important to always be intentional and know that they will pick up on your fear and hesitation. If I've never worked with your kind of animal, I will research and learn so that I can come in with that confidence and presence that is needed.
Get in touch with me and get a genuine animal lover, that animals love.
(Due to current fuel prices, I may have to charge extra if you are over half an hour from me, but I can still help you. We can discuss it.)

I am an animal lover who is absolutely dog obsessed; I am the type of person that needs to say hi and pat all of the dogs I pass by on the street.
Since a young age I have always had a dog and other pets in my life before moving to Australia and since I unfortunately don't have any pets of my own at this moment I love to spend time with other people's pets.
Despite being new to Pawshake I have been pet sitting and dog walking for over 8 years. With all of this experience I have gained the skills to adapt to each animals individual needs to ensure that they feel safe and loved during their times with me.
I'm also a very active person and like to keep fit so I love having some company on my walks.
I have moved to Canberra about 8 months ago for a change of scenery and at this stage I am offering pet sitting in the pet's home, dog walking and daily home visits to keep your pets happy while you're away. I know how hard it is to go away without your pets so I always make sure to update owners with pics of their happy fur friend while they're in my care.

Contact me today to arrange a meet and greet. I look forward to hearing from you soon

I do catsitting job with my wife, who is working as a dental assistant and is a 'crazy-cat-lady' who will pet any cat she meets. Basically, we do this job to meet as many cats as we can.
We live in the South Canberra area, and we would love to help take care of your cat(s) while you are on your joyful vacation :)

- food and drink checking
- cleaning up the mess (litters)
- responsibility and honesty

I love caring for animals and I know how important it is to find someone you can truly trust. My goal is to give every pet a calm, safe, and loving experience while their family is away ; especially shy, anxious, or sensitive pets.

I have experience with both cats and dogs, including seniors and nervous pets. I always follow each pet’s routine carefully: feeding on schedule, fresh water, litter/yard cleaning, playtime, and quiet cuddle time if they enjoy it. I move slowly, speak softly, and let animals approach at their own pace.

Communication is very important to me. I provide regular updates, photos, and honest feedback so owners always know how their pet is doing.

For everyone’s safety, I only welcome vaccinated pets. Cleanliness, hygiene, and comfort are always a priority, and I treat your pet and your home with respect.

I’m looking forward to meeting your fur family and keeping them happy, calm, and cared for while you’re away.
