Many cat owners will understand that cats can be fussy and prefer their own home environment rather than an unfamiliar place like a cattery or cat hotel. Although some cats can adapt to cat boarding if they have to, most cats become stressed when transported somewhere new.

This is where a friendly Macquarie ACT Pawshake cat feeder or carer can help. Our Macquarie ACT cat sitting expert can come and visit your cat while you are away on holiday or at work. A cat sitter can even stay overnight if required, which is far less stressful than sending your feline friend to a cattery for cat boarding. Whether you just need a sitter for a couple of hours or someone to visit each day for a week, our Macquarie ACT cat sitters can tailor their service to suit you and please even the fussiest kitty.

Although most cats are independent, having a cat carer visit has a lot of benefits. Your chosen Pawshake cat sitter can feed, freshen up the water bowl, tidy the litter tray, and spend quality time with your cat. And unlike a cattery or cat hotel, your cat can chill out in their own familiar space.

Finally, every booking with Pawshake is with a verified carer and includes the Pawshake Guarantee and veterinary coverage, so you have nothing to worry about when it comes to your feline companion!

We are passionate animal lovers, and caring for pets is genuinely one of the happiest parts of our week.
My son and I share our home with two cats of our own, and we’ve had the joy of completing several pet sits in the past.
Although our current profile lists “cats only” for drop-in visits, we are very experienced with dogs and other animals as well. We’re always open to adjusting our availability and the types of pets we care for as we grow our little pet-sitting journey.
I will be the primary carer during all visits, ensuring pets are safe, comfortable, and well looked after, while my son joins me as a gentle, caring helper. He absolutely loves animals, treats them with respect, and enjoys earning a little pocket money through helping out.
We would be honoured to care for your beloved pets as if they were our own.

Hello, my name is Heidi, and I am 25years old. Throughout my life, I have had the privilege of growing up with dogs, which has fostered my deep love and passion for animals. I am an experienced and dedicated pet sitter, committed to providing a safe, loving, and happy environment for pets in my care.
Currently, I work full-time as a Family Assistant/Estate Assistant—a role I was fortunate to receive through a family I met while pet sitting for their dogs. As part of my job, I get to spend my days with their pets, which brings me so much joy. My love for animals is at the heart of everything I do, and I am known for being a compassionate and attentive caretaker.
I have two fur babies of my own - full breed chihuahua, Bambi and chihuahua cross, Bibble. Bambi is a sassy little girl and Bibble is cuddle bear but very frightened of life due to her being a rescue.
As a vegetarian with a strong passion for animals and fitness, I love spending time outdoors—especially on walks, which I’m sure your pet will enjoy too. Over the years, I’ve had a variety of pets, giving me broad experience in caring for animals of all kinds.
I now offer pet sitting services from my own home in Denman Prospect. While I do live in an apartment, I understand this may be something you’d like to consider—so I’m more than happy to arrange a meet-and-greet at my place beforehand. I also continue to offer pet sitting in clients’ homes if that’s your preference.
I look forward to the opportunity to care for your pet!
Best regards,
Heidi

Hello,
I was raised with a love of animals and pets, my family owning 3 cats (Fin/Remi/Pied), 2 dogs (Tilly/Boo), lots of chickens, peacocks, and, most recently, a baby magpie (Chibi). Growing up in a family mostly composed of animals has taught me about the importance of pets in an individual's life.
My care and love for animals have only grown in the last few years, with my cat losing a leg, our rooster (Mr Bojangles) getting sick, and the rehabilitation of a baby magpie.
I have a lot of experience house sitting and caring for friends' pets over the years.
From German Shepherds to rescue shelter cats. I provide dog walking, pet visiting and pet sitting.
I always go the extra mile to make the pets and humans happy.
It takes a responsible, patient, and loving person to care for your special friend, and I believe I have all the skills to provide that.

Hi, I’m Caitlin! I’m an Australian National University student and a huge animal lover. I have three cats of my own, so I know how much our pets become part of the family and how important it is to know they’re being looked after properly when you’re away. I’m used to different personalities, routines and needs to keep up with, and I enjoy spending time with animals.
I’m available for dog walks, home visits and pet sitting. For home visits, I can take care of feeding, fresh water, litter trays, playtime, cuddles and anything else your pet needs as part of their normal routine. I’m also happy to spend some extra time with them so they aren’t left feeling lonely. Dog walks can be around 30–60 minutes, depending on your dog and what they’re comfortable with.
I’m happy to care for cats and dogs, and I’m open to looking after other pets depending on their needs. I’ll always follow your instructions and take the time to understand your pet’s routine before you head away.
I’m reliable, patient and easy to communicate with. I’ll also send you photos and updates while you’re away, because I know I’d want to know how my own pets were doing! Most importantly, I’ll treat your pets with the same care and attention I’d want someone to give mine.

I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life, from the time I was a baby right through to now, and caring for pets has always been second nature to me. I genuinely love all animals and find that they respond to my calm, patient energy and natural understanding of their needs.
Over the years, I’ve shared my life with a wide variety of pets, including dogs, cats, rabbits, fish, birds, and even a lizard. Each one has taught me something unique about trust, routine, and companionship. Most recently, I was lucky enough to have a retired Labrador sniffer dog from the Federal Police. He sadly passed away from cancer this past december, but he was truly one of a kind and he blessed our family with his love for 3 years with us.
I’m also owned by an elderly tuxedo cat named Carlos — a total legend with a personality so dog-like it’s unbelievable.
I’m a part-time worker and a mum to two human children, which means I’m responsible, organised, and very capable of caring for others. I’m available to visit your pets while you’re away to provide reliable, loving care, and I’m also happy to look after your home by bringing in mail, taking out bins, and watering plants if needed.
Im happy to follow your pets lead, I can play, or just chill out nearby.
I can also administer tablets or paste medicines (no injections)
I can help with training for continuity of training while you're away.

Hi there, my name is Emma. I am a 30 year old lawyer and I am a huge dog lover! My family has owned standard size sausage dogs all my life, and I have owned two beautiful, cream coloured mininature long-haired sausage dogs of my own as an adult. My dog, Tully, is 11 years old and she would much rather sit on the couch and nap in the sun than go for a walk, but I am a huge fan of walking and being outdoors so I would love to walk other dogs. I have experience dog sitting and walking a variety of dog breeds for friends and family. This includes smaller dogs (mostly dachshunds) as well as some bigger dogs like keeshonds and labradors. I work from both the office and sometimes work from home so am available on weekends, mornings, evenings and lunch time (depending on the day). My services include dog walking and house visits to feed/check up on dogs (up to 30 mins, can include watering plants etc). I am looking forward to hearing from you and walking and looking after your beautiful pups!

Hey, my name is Chelsea and I love all animals but most of all dogs. I have previous experience in looking after and walking friends and family's dogs of all sizes and breeds. I also completed work experience during high school at a pet boarding facility which I enjoyed so much. At this work experience I had to clean, feed, walk, play and hangout all different sizes and breeds of dogs which I am happy to do for your pets as well! I also own a dog myself and she is like my best friend but I will also treat you dog/pets as another one of my best friends! My favourite thing abouts dogs is the connection you have and can build with them as they are truly meaningful and bring me so much joy. As for my types of dogs I will take on I am very happy to all sizes and breeds but I would love a kind dog who is not aggressive towards me.

Hi there! My name is Adarsh, and I am a local student here in Lawson with a deep passion for animal care. Currently, I am studying a Diploma of Community Services, which has instilled in me a strong sense of responsibility, patience, and a genuine desire to support those in my community—whether they have two legs or four! My motivation for becoming a pet sitter is simple: I understand that pets are cherished family members, and their well-being is paramount. I want to offer pet owners in our area the peace of mind that their companions are being looked after by someone who is not only reliable and punctual but also deeply caring. I take great pride in being organized and trustworthy, ensuring that every pet I look after receives attentive care, plenty of enrichment, and lots of love. While I am building my experience, I am confident in my ability to follow specific care routines, handle different temperaments, and provide a safe, nurturing environment for your pet. Whether it’s a refreshing walk, dedicated playtime, or simply checking in on them while you are away, I am committed to treating your pet with the same kindness I would my own.Regarding my home environment, I prioritize safety and health for all pets. To ensure a comfortable experience, I only accept pets that are up-to-date with their vaccinations. I am more than happy to arrange a "meet and greet" before any booking so we can make sure your pet feels completely at ease with me. I look forward to meeting you and your furry friend soon!

Having always grown up with animals around in my family, and an (unrealised) childhood dream of becoming a vet, I love any opportunity to care for pets. While I don’t have one myself at the moment, I come from a family of both dog and cat lovers (you don’t have to love only one of them!) and have experience training my family dog up from a young kelpie puppy to a well-trained adult dog.
Overall, I have plenty experience caring for and walking dogs, although I have minimal experience doing this as a ‘job’. As I don't have a dog right now, due to living arrangements, I would love the chance to walk and care for other dogs.
I'm flexible for timings across Friday-Sunday, am a reliable, kind and caring person to all pets alike, and am adaptable to whatever care needs your dog requires.
The opportunity to walk or care for your dog, small or big, young or old, would be my pleasure!
