Top cities for cat sitting in Australia

Many cat owners will understand that cats can be fussy and prefer their own home environment rather than an unfamiliar place like a cattery or cat hotel. Although some cats can adapt to cat boarding if they have to, most cats become stressed when transported somewhere new.

This is where a friendly East Geelong VIC Pawshake cat feeder or carer can help. Our East Geelong VIC cat sitting expert can come and visit your cat while you are away on holiday or at work. A cat sitter can even stay overnight if required, which is far less stressful than sending your feline friend to a cattery for cat boarding. Whether you just need a sitter for a couple of hours or someone to visit each day for a week, our East Geelong VIC cat sitters can tailor their service to suit you and please even the fussiest kitty.

Although most cats are independent, having a cat carer visit has a lot of benefits. Your chosen Pawshake cat sitter can feed, freshen up the water bowl, tidy the litter tray, and spend quality time with your cat. And unlike a cattery or cat hotel, your cat can chill out in their own familiar space.

Finally, every booking with Pawshake is with a verified carer and includes the Pawshake Guarantee and veterinary coverage, so you have nothing to worry about when it comes to your feline companion!

We are experienced with a variety of dog breeds, and are happy to discuss your dogs specific needs. We are also happy to discuss how your dog interacts with other dogs, and how we can best socialize them with our own, if that is something you desire.
We have included photos in our gallery to give you a glimpse of our cozy and secure environment.

A home away from home for your dog
We absolutely love dogs and understand how important it is to know your furry family member is safe, happy and genuinely cared for while you’re away.
About us – who are we?

Hi! I’m Gabriella, I’m 36 and work in Human Resources/Talent Acquisition, primarily from home. My partner, Danny, works in finance. We’re both corporate professionals, but outside of work we’re very much homebodies and huge animal lovers.
We live in Hamlyn Heights, Geelong, in a clean, spacious and secure home with our miniature Dachshund, Maximus (Maxi), who is very much part of the family.

What is our neighbourhood like?

Hamlyn Heights is a lovely, quiet and very dog-friendly area. We have plenty of local streets and green spaces nearby for walks, sniffing and exploring, as well as easy access to some of Geelong’s great walking areas and parks.
Our own property also has a large, secure backyard, so dogs have plenty of space for supervised outdoor play and enrichment between walks.

What motivates us as pet sitters?

Quite simply, we genuinely love dogs.
We know how important it is to be able to leave your dog with someone and actually relax, rather than wondering whether they’re getting enough attention or spending the day alone.
We want the dogs staying with us to feel like they’ve temporarily joined our family. Expect plenty of attention, cuddles, playtime, walks and probably far too many photos!

I work primarily from home, so pet sitting fits naturally into our lifestyle and gives me the opportunity to spend plenty of one-on-one time with the dogs in our care.

What previous pet-care experience do we have?

We have both been dog owners and have many years of hands-on experience caring for dogs through all different life stages.
Our previous fur baby was part of our lives for 16 years, so we understand both the fun side of pet ownership and the responsibility that comes with caring for a dog throughout its lifetime, including their changing needs as they get older.

We now have our miniature Dachshund, Maxi, so puppy life has certainly refreshed our experience with feeding routines, toilet training, basic commands, enrichment, exercise, socialisation and the general chaos that comes with raising a puppy!

We’re confident following individual feeding and care instructions, administering oral medication, maintaining established routines and adapting care to suit different personalities, ages and energy levels.
Most importantly, we treat other people’s dogs exactly how we would want someone to treat ours: with patience, affection, attention and genuine care.

We’re also big believers in keeping owners updated. You can expect regular photos and little updates during your pet’s stay so you can enjoy your time away knowing they’re safe, happy and being thoroughly spoiled.

What is specifically included in the services you offer?

We provide a genuine home-away-from-home experience for your dog. Every stay includes feeding, fresh water, playtime, enrichment, cuddles, toilet breaks, photo & video updates, and daily walks (if suitable for your dog's age and needs). We’re also happy to administer oral medication and follow your pet’s normal routine. Basic grooming such as brushing and wiping paws after walks is included.

How many dogs will you board at the same time?

We only board one family’s dog(s) at a time. This means your pet receives our full attention in a calm, safe environment without multiple unfamiliar dogs.

How long are your dog walks?

Typically 30–45 minutes, tailored to your dog’s age, fitness and energy level. Puppies and senior dogs receive shorter, gentler walks.

How many dog walks do you offer per day?

1–2 walks per day, plus plenty of supervised backyard play and enrichment throughout the day.

How does pet care fit into your daily or weekly routine?

Pet care fits naturally into our lifestyle. I work primarily from home, so dogs are rarely left alone and become part of our daily routine — from morning cuddles to evening relaxation. We schedule our day around ensuring they’re exercised, entertained and comfortable.

What is your availability like?

We’re available most weekdays, weekends and public holidays for boarding, daycare, walking and house visits. We aim to be flexible wherever possible.

Do you work from home or do you need to leave the house for work?

I work mostly from home in HR, while my partner works full-time in finance. Because I’m home the majority of the day, guest pets receive consistent supervision and companionship.

Can you supervise guest pets 24/7?

Yes — for boarding, guest pets are supervised throughout the day and sleep inside with us. They are never left alone for more than 3 hours, and in most cases much less.

Who else lives in your home?

It’s just my partner and me, along with our friendly miniature Dachshund, Maximus, who loves having canine visitors. We maintain a very clean, quiet and pet-safe home.

Where are the guest pets allowed to sleep?

Wherever they’re most comfortable! Dogs are welcome to sleep inside in our bedroom, in their own bed or crate if preferred, or in the living area. We’ll happily follow your home routine.

If you have a backyard, what is it like?

We have a large, fully fenced and secure backyard with plenty of space to run and play. The fencing is secure, gates are always locked, and dogs are never left outside unattended.

Hi, I’m Serkan! As a lifelong animal lover and a long-time cat parent, I know how much pets mean to their owners and how important it is to leave them in trustworthy, caring hands. Having lived with and cared for cats for many years, I understand their routines, subtle body language, and need for a gentle, calm approach.
While my primary pet care experience comes from years of looking after cats, I am an energetic walker who loves spending time outdoors with friendly dogs, making sure they get great exercise, fresh air, and patient attention.
What I Offer:

Cat Home Visits (Drop-in Care): Each visit typically lasts 30 to 45 minutes. During this time, I will:

Wash bowls and provide fresh food and water according to your specific feeding schedule.
Thoroughly scoop the litter box and sweep/vacuum stray litter around the area.
Provide routine care tasks such as administering oral medications/tablets, gentle brushing and coat care, and cleaning tear stains/eyes if needed.
Spend dedicated, unhurried quality time playing with interactive toys or offering gentle affection, depending on your cat’s personality and mood.
Take care of minor home courtesy tasks (bringing in mail/parcels, alternating blinds/lights, and watering indoor plants).

Dog Walking:

Standard walks are 30 to 45 minutes (with 60-minute walks available for energetic dogs needing more exercise).
Walks take place in your quiet local neighbourhood or nearby dog-friendly parks.
Safe on-lead walking with ample sniff-time and mental stimulation at your dog's natural pace.
Fresh water top-up, thorough paw wipe-down, and settling them comfortably back inside before I leave.

Photo & Video Updates: Detailed updates, fun notes, and clear photos/videos sent after every single visit or walk so you have complete peace of mind while away.

Practical Details & Availability:

Based locally in Belmont / Geelong, covering nearby suburbs with flexible availability across mornings, afternoons, and weekends.
Attentive to strict routines, double-checking door/gate locks, and following all home security instructions.
Comfortable caring for friendly, socialised pets.
Non-smoker, highly reliable, tidy, and respectful of your home environment.

I would love to arrange a quick meet-and-greet to get to know you and your pet!

Hi I'm Alana! I'm 19 years old I work part time in the health care industry! I absolutely adore animals myself so I thought why not work with them! I work different hours at my day job so I may not be available 247 but, I am available after for feedings and walking after normal working hours :) I have previous experience pet sitting on using a different company but I am here to try a new one! I am wanting to become a pet sitter for filling in my days, extra money for savings so I can soon afford my own place one day
I am abailable for pet feedings, sitting and walking! times and dates may change depending on my outside work week!

Hi there! I was studying nursing at Deakin University and I’m also a proud dog mum to a small, friendly pup named Milo . My nursing background has taught me to be patient, detail-oriented and calm in all kinds of situations — qualities that I naturally bring into caring for pets. I understand how important it is to make sure your furry family member feels safe, happy and well looked after when you’re away.

I’ve always had a strong love for animals and truly enjoy spending time with them. Whether it’s daily walks, feeding, playtime, or simply offering comfort and companionship, I do everything with care and attention. Having my own dog has helped me understand routines, dietary needs and little personality quirks that make every pet unique.

I offer a range of services including dog walking, day care, home visits and overnight sitting in the Geelong area. I’m happy to follow your pet’s normal schedule to make them feel at home. You can expect regular photo updates and messages while you’re away, so you know your pet is safe and content.

For everyone’s safety, I only take vaccinated and friendly pets. I treat every animal as if they were my own — with love, patience and plenty of cuddles ️

Hi! I’m a caring and reliable pet sitter who truly enjoys spending time with animals and building genuine connections with them. I have a gentle and patient personality, and I always pay close attention to each pet’s unique needs, emotions, behavior, and daily routines. I understand that every pet is different, so I take the time to build trust and help them feel safe, comfortable, and secure in their own environment.

I usually tailor each visit based on the pet’s needs. Dog walks are typically around 20–60 minutes depending on energy level and routine. During visits, I make sure pets are fed on schedule, have fresh water, clean litter or living spaces, and receive either playtime or calm companionship depending on their personality.

I’m also confident handling unexpected situations calmly and responsibly. If any issue arises, such as a pet showing signs of stress or illness, I will immediately contact the owner and follow any provided instructions. Your pet’s safety and well-being will always be my first priority.

With a background in customer service, I’m very detail-oriented, respectful, and attentive in communication. I will also send regular updates with messages or photos so you can feel reassured while you’re away.

I treat every pet as if they were my own, with genuine care, consistency, and responsibility.

Cats have always been a part of my life. My friends and family call me the crazy cat lady, because I genuinely attract cats everywhere I go, even the ones owners swear “don’t like people.” Somehow, that cat likes me. I don’t know what it is, but I’ll take it.

I have two cats and a dog, so I understand just how much personality & routine every pet has, & how much peace of mind it gives an owner to know their fur baby is genuinely being looked after, not just fed & forgotten.
I also grew up with rabbits, Guinea pigs, hermit crabs, fish and a cockatiel.
My two, Bobby & Eddie, are inside only - so don’t worry I understand the importance of a clean & comfortable litter space.

Outside of pet sitting, I have a background in health and community support work, including allied health administration and personal training, so I’m calm, reliable, and used to being trusted with things that matter. I’m comfortable administering medication, caring for senior cats, and managing multi-cat households, so whatever your cat’s routine looks like, I’ll take the time to get it right.

Visits typically run 15-30 minutes, and I’m always happy to stay longer if your cat wants more time or company. When I visit, you can expect fresh food and water, a clean litter tray, playtime or cuddles (whatever your cat prefers!), and a photo/video update so you can relax knowing everything’s exactly as it should be. I’m also happy to water plants, bring in the mail, and take your bins in or out while I’m there.

I’m currently very flexible, available mornings, afternoons and evenings, 7 days a week, and I’d love to meet you and your cat for a free Meet & Greet first to make sure it’s the right fit for everyone.

I’m happy to walk small dogs for 30 mins around their local neighbourhood.

I have a cat（5 years old） and a rabbit at home now（in China）. My family used to have a dog too. When I was back home, I spent tons of time with my cat every day - she slept with me and watched TV with me.
I know what pets should and shouldn't eat, and I also know how to get along with them. I can pick up on my pets' moods and whether they're not feeling well or sick right away.
I'll keep an eye on the cats and dogs at all times, and I'll treat different pets - whether outgoing or introverted - in different ways. The outgoing ones will let them get exposed to new things, and for the introverted ones, I'll just spend more time playing with them.
I usually take my dogs for a walk for about half an hour, in safe areas like parks and residential neighborhoods, to make sure they get enough exercise and stay healthy. Of course we'll also get them home safely without the owners having to worry, and we'll give them a detailed rundown of what we did today.
I love pets so much!Even though I can't bring my pets to Australia, I still want to spend time with them here, so please feel free to leave your pets in my care - I'll be great friends with them!
