Top cities for cat sitting in Australia

Many cat owners will understand that cats can be fussy and prefer their own home environment rather than an unfamiliar place like a cattery or cat hotel. Although some cats can adapt to cat boarding if they have to, most cats become stressed when transported somewhere new.

This is where a friendly Durack QLD Pawshake cat feeder or carer can help. Our Durack QLD cat sitting expert can come and visit your cat while you are away on holiday or at work. A cat sitter can even stay overnight if required, which is far less stressful than sending your feline friend to a cattery for cat boarding. Whether you just need a sitter for a couple of hours or someone to visit each day for a week, our Durack QLD cat sitters can tailor their service to suit you and please even the fussiest kitty.

Although most cats are independent, having a cat carer visit has a lot of benefits. Your chosen Pawshake cat sitter can feed, freshen up the water bowl, tidy the litter tray, and spend quality time with your cat. And unlike a cattery or cat hotel, your cat can chill out in their own familiar space.

Finally, every booking with Pawshake is with a verified carer and includes the Pawshake Guarantee and veterinary coverage, so you have nothing to worry about when it comes to your feline companion!

Hi there! I'm Laura - a university student studying Dental Prosthetics and currently working part time at a dental practice. I'm based in Brisbane and have a flexible schedule, especially on evenings, weekends, and university holidays!

I absolutely love spending time with animals and understand how important it is to have someone reliable and caring looking after your pets when you're away. Whether it's keeping your dog active and happy with regular walks, giving your cat all the cuddles and playtime they love, or simply ensuring your pets stay safe and comfortable at home!

You can count on me to follow any care instructions closely, keep your home tidy, and send you regular updates and photos for peace of mind. I'm mature, calm, and detail oriented, and I take the trust of caring for your pets seriously.

I'd love to meet you and your furry friend for a free meet and greet to see if we're the right fit! Feel free to reach out, I look forward to helping care for your pets like they're my own!

Hi, I'm Jared! Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and caring for them is a genuine passion of mine. Over the past year, I've worked as a full-time pet sitter, looking after a wide variety of pets in their own homes and providing owners with absolute peace of mind while they're away.
I am currently studying a Bachelor of Health Science which not only reflects my commitment to care and detail but also gives me excellent flexibility with my schedule. This allows me to easily adapt to your pet's normal daily routine and give them the dedicated time they deserve.
My Approach to Behavior
I am deeply invested in understanding animal psychology and behavior. Over the years, I’ve spent countless hours studying dog training methodology, behavior patterns, and body language. I combined this heavy self-education with hands-on experience volunteering at the RSPCA, where I learned firsthand how to read, interpret, and react to real-time animal behavior.
Because of this, I'm incredibly sharp at reading a dog's signals. I know exactly how to spot different types of behavior, whether it's picking up on subtle body language, managing over-excitement, or keeping an energetic dog focused and happy, I know exactly what to look for and how to handle it safely.
Services I Provide

Regular Photo & Text Updates: You’ll never have to wonder how your pet is doing. I send consistent updates and photos so you can relax knowing they're happy and safe.
Tailored Dog Walking: I match the pace to your dog’s age, fitness level, and energy. I use my understanding of dog behavior to keep walks engaging, using them for both physical exercise and mental enrichment.
Home Visits & Companionship: Feeding, fresh water, dedicated playtime, and lots of attention.
Hygiene & Maintenance: Routine litter tray changing or cage cleaning.
Medication Administration: Experienced in administering oral medications (tablets and liquids) given clear instructions. Please note: For safety reasons, I do not administer injections or intravenous medications.

Experience & Care
I have experience caring for a diverse range of animals, including:

Dogs & Cats: All shapes, sizes, and temperaments.
Small Pets & Birds: Rabbits, guinea pigs, and various bird species.
Exotics: Reptiles and other specialized small animals.

I only accept bookings that allow me to give each animal the undivided time, attention, and high-quality care they deserve. If an emergency ever arises, I will contact you immediately and seek veterinary care, strictly following your instructions.
I treat every animal as if they were my own. My goal is to ensure they feel safe, loved, and entirely comfortable while you're away!

Hi, I’m Lucia! I’ve spent over 10 years raising my beloved Welsh Corgi, which has given me deep experience in handling various behaviors and needs. I truly miss my dog, so I treat every furry friend I meet with the same love and attention I give my own.

My Services & Practical Skills
I am comfortable caring for dogs of all ages—from energetic puppies to calm seniors. To ensure maximum safety and individual attention, I prefer to walk one dog at a time (unless they are from the same household). I am also confident in handling strong pullers on a lead, ensuring they stay safe and controlled during our outings.

Walking & Safety
For home visits and walking, I usually offer 30 to 60-minute sessions depending on your dog’s energy level. I love walking in local parks where it’s safe and engaging for them. I always keep dogs on a lead during walks and stay vigilant of their surroundings.
Availability & Communication
I have a flexible schedule and am generally available on Friday & Saturday, including mornings and evenings. I believe clear communication is key, so I will send you frequent photo and message updates. For everyone's safety, I only accept vaccinated pets into my home.
Emergency Handling
Given my background, I stay calm under pressure and am very detail-oriented. In the event of an emergency, I will immediately contact you and the nearest vet while providing necessary comfort until professional help is reached. Your pet’s safety and happiness are my top priorities!

Animal Lover Availability: Mon - Thursday after 3pm till 9pm Fri - 3pm till late Saturday - Sunday I am open to any requests whether it be overnight stays or morning walks About me:

I am 32 years old. I love Animals of all kinds. I have volunteered for saving hope which is a charity based on rehabilitating puppys and dogs. That meant dealing with traumatized dogs, sick dogs, anxious dogs & unwanted dogs. They ranged from many many different breeds, so I am familiar with the different traits of a range of dogs. Most the time I would be juggling feeding, training, cleaning with up to 25 dogs staying on the farm. I loved it ️
My passion and motivation is my love I have for animals so I will always make sure they are safe and sound. I know proper ethical training also through my own pets growing up and even more so through Saving Hope. Currently I am looking for any extra jobs as I enjoy staying fit and healthy and would enjoy looking after or walking other person's pets if they have hectic schedules.

Hi! I’m To, 21 year old female. I'm a caring, responsible and reliable dog lover who genuinely enjoys spending time with dogs and making sure they feel safe, happy and comfortable. I understand that leaving your dog with someone else can be difficult, so I always aim to provide the same patience, attention and care I would want for my own dog.

I offer dog sitting, including feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime, cuddles, toilet breaks and plenty of companionship. I’m happy to follow your dog’s usual routine and instructions, including their preferred walking schedule, feeding times and any specific needs. I can care for dogs of different sizes and breeds, as long as they are friendly and comfortable around people.

I’m attentive to each dog’s personality and understand that some dogs may need extra time to settle into a new environment. I’m happy to provide regular updates and photos so you can feel reassured while you’re away.

My availability depends on my study and work schedule, but I will always communicate clearly about the times I’m available. My priority is making sure every dog in my care feels loved, safe and well looked after.

I am a motivated animal lover who loves the outdoors and has quite flexible availibility. In the last 6 years I've travelled Australia and New Zealand and now settled down in Brisbane together with my partner. During various woofing I enjoyed the company of a big variety of animals and I realised I wanted to spend more time with animals again once I settled down. I love giving cuddles and playing with animals, also up for jogging together with your dog if its used to that.
We have got a nice big old Queenslander we share with a couple of people. We do have 2 energetic and loving dogs who love cats- they've grown up with 4 of them- but are not good with other dogs. So I can host 1 or 2 cats or other small animals that I'd mainly keep in the spare room when it's busy in the house. At quiet times they can explore the house if you give permission.
