For pet parents, one of the hardest things about going to work each day is wondering what your dog will get up to while you are gone. At Pawshake, we understand that dogs need activity and interaction during the day, so why not book your dog with one of our trusted sitters in Kensington VIC for a home day care service? You can drop your dog off at the sitter’s home on the way to work or organise with your local Kensington VIC Pawshake sitter to pick up and drop off your dog for you.

Pet day care is a great way to keep your dog mentally and physically active during the day so that you can come home to a happy, relaxed dog. Pawshake’s home day care service is great for young dogs who need constant supervision: puppy daycare allows your pup to maintain a consistent routine, which is important during the toilet training process. It’s also a great option for dogs who need extra care and attention, or those who are extra active.

Our sitters who offer home day care and puppy daycare services are more adaptable than your average big day care centre. Numbers are kept small and some Pawshake sitters will only take in one dog at a time. This means they can work around your timing and any special requirements your dog may have. So, let your four-legged best friend enjoy their day with a fun and loving Kensington VIC sitter who will shower them with love and dedicated attention. On top of that, you will also get photos and updates during the day so that you can follow your dog’s day care adventures!

Every day care booking also comes included with The Pawshake Guarantee, which includes veterinary coverage, customer service support 7 days a week and more.

Hi! My name is Sarah, I’m 22 years old and I’m a university student currently living in Melbourne CBD. I have always been an animal lover and grew up surrounded by pets of different sizes, ages and personalities, so caring for animals has always been a very natural and enjoyable part of my life.

I am currently studying subjects related to Animal Science, which has made me even more interested in animal behaviour, welfare and care. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and getting to know their individual personalities. For me, pet sitting is not just about feeding or checking on a pet — I want them to feel safe, comfortable and loved while their owners are away.

I have experience caring for pets of different sizes, ages and energy levels. I am comfortable with cats and dogs, including larger dogs, as well as other types of pets. I am equally happy spending time playing with an energetic young pet or giving an older or calmer animal the patience and company they need.

I am based in Melbourne CBD, with easy access to parks, walking paths and pet-friendly outdoor areas, so there are plenty of options for walks depending on where your pet lives and what they are comfortable with.

My availability
I have flexible availability throughout the week. I am generally available in the afternoons and evenings on weekdays and throughout the weekends, and I may also be available in the mornings depending on the day.
For house sitting, I can stay overnight and spend a significant amount of time with your pet. I understand that every animal is different when it comes to being left alone, so I will always ask about this beforehand and organise my schedule around their needs as much as possible.

Home visits
My home visits usually last around 30–60 minutes. During this time, I can feed your pet, refresh their water, give them plenty of attention and playtime, clean litter trays or pet areas, take care of small pet-related messes and make sure everything is okay while you are away.

I am also happy to water plants and bring in your mail during visits.
If your pet requires simple oral or topical medication, I am happy to administer it as long as you provide clear instructions and your pet is comfortable taking it. I am not professionally trained in veterinary care, grooming or animal training, so I will always be transparent about what I am comfortable doing.

And of course, expect photos! I know how reassuring it is to see that your pet is happy while you are away, so I am happy to send regular photos and message updates.

Dog walking
Dog walks can usually be around 30–60 minutes, depending entirely on your dog’s age, energy level, health and normal routine. I am happy to adjust the pace and length to what your dog is used to.
I can walk them around their usual neighbourhood, nearby parks or walking areas, and I will always follow your instructions regarding leads, interactions with other dogs, areas to avoid and anything else that helps make their walk safe and enjoyable.

House sitting & sleepovers
For house sitting, I can stay overnight in your home, allowing your pet to remain in the environment where they already feel safe and comfortable.

I will follow their normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding times, walks, playtime, toilet breaks and bedtime. I can spend the evening, night and part of the day with your pet, and we can discuss their usual routine before the booking so I can plan around their individual needs.

I also take the security of your home very seriously. I will keep your keys secure, make sure doors and windows are properly locked, follow any alarm or access instructions you provide, never allow anyone else into your home and leave everything as I found it.
During house sitting, I can send you updates at least once or twice a day, or more frequently if you prefer.

Every pet has their own personality and routine, and that is one of the things I love most about looking after them. I am always happy to chat before a booking so I can learn about your pet, their favourite things, their routine and anything that will help them feel comfortable.

My goal is for you to enjoy your time away without worrying, knowing that your pet is safe, happy and getting plenty of love and attention.
