For pet parents, one of the hardest things about going to work each day is wondering what your dog will get up to while you are gone. At Pawshake, we understand that dogs need activity and interaction during the day, so why not book your dog with one of our trusted sitters in Downer ACT for a home day care service? You can drop your dog off at the sitter’s home on the way to work or organise with your local Downer ACT Pawshake sitter to pick up and drop off your dog for you.

Pet day care is a great way to keep your dog mentally and physically active during the day so that you can come home to a happy, relaxed dog. Pawshake’s home day care service is great for young dogs who need constant supervision: puppy daycare allows your pup to maintain a consistent routine, which is important during the toilet training process. It’s also a great option for dogs who need extra care and attention, or those who are extra active.

Our sitters who offer home day care and puppy daycare services are more adaptable than your average big day care centre. Numbers are kept small and some Pawshake sitters will only take in one dog at a time. This means they can work around your timing and any special requirements your dog may have. So, let your four-legged best friend enjoy their day with a fun and loving Downer ACT sitter who will shower them with love and dedicated attention. On top of that, you will also get photos and updates during the day so that you can follow your dog’s day care adventures!

Every day care booking also comes included with The Pawshake Guarantee, which includes veterinary coverage, customer service support 7 days a week and more.

I am Canberra born and bred. I am a retired senior public servant with more than 40 years experience.
I was a cat owner for more than 30 years, often with two or three cats, most of which were rescue cats. I looked after and cared for them through everything including taking one to Sydney for cancer treatment which resulted in having an eye removed. I am currently without one but am very experienced in dealing with cats.
For a number of years I was a volunteer dog walker at the pound which, at times, was challenging both physically and emotionally. I walked up to six different dogs on a Saturday afternoon so was very committed. Each walk was about 30 minutes. In addition, I had to sit with a number of dogs in their cages to build up their confidence before taking them for a walk
I am a very caring and compassionate person and would treat your pet with with as much care as if it was my own. I would welcome the opportunity to look after your pooch or pussy cat while you are away. My main interest is visiting your pet in your home while you are away and rest assured they will be in safe hands. And I would be more than happy to feed your pet but also spend time petting them and playing with them.
On a number of occasions I have had to administer oral medication to my own cats.
I would ensure that I send you a daily update or pics so that you know that they are getting amazing care.
I look forward to looking after your fur baby.

Hello! I’m an animal-lover and new to pet sitting, having recently lost my 12 year old Rottweiler to illness. I understand that being away from your pets can be stressful — I truly understand. I can provide a calm and caring environment with plenty of enrichment, attention, and love. Your pet’s wellbeing is priority!
I'm happy to accept all ages and personalities — from playful puppies (holiday periods and weekend only) and curious kittens to older pets who may need gentle care or medication. I’m attentive, reliable, and committed to keeping routines consistent so your pet feels secure and comfortable.
I work full-time; however, accept boarding services 7 days a week and daycare on weekends. Pick-up and drop-off is restricted to after 4pm on weekdays due to employment commitments.
* Currently not accepting pets that like to dig, as I am repairing my lawn from recent care of 2 little diggers.
You can expect:️ Daily photo and video updates️ Walks tailored to your pet’s energy level️ Enrichment and playtime️ Specified feeding, and medication (if required)️ Respect for your instructions️ A genuine love for animals
If you want peace of mind and a sitter who treats your pet like their own — I’d love to help.
Let’s chat and schedule a meet-and-greet!

Thank you for considering me. I have been looking after pets since 2019. I have looked after Labradors, German Shepherd, Dachshunds, Chihuahuas, ragdolls and tabby cats and also birds and Guinea Pigs. I always keep owners up to date with photos and videos of the lovely pets. Their safety and well-being is always my utmost importance. In house sitting service, I spend most the the time at home with the pets, with exception of going out for grocery shopping. If my routine requires spending time outside during the day, I will discuss with the owners the details so that their pets get the best possible care.I always keep dogs on leash while walking and choose safe time and space so that the pets can feel at ease. I discussed with owners their favorite play spaces and places to avoid. I often take the dogs to a dog park nearby and play fetch with them. I make sure that contacts with other dogs are minimal so that accidents are better manage and avoided.I brush cats daily and keep their litter tidy. I follow owners instruction with giving medicine to dogs and cats. I am comfortable with preparing and giving tablets and powder medicine. Moreover, I always keep owner's places clean and tidy. Having house-sitting and petsitting over 5 years, I helped look after owner's house and respect their personal space and am honest with my caretaking. I have also helped with collecting mails and watering plants.I always follow instructions, ask questions and demonstrate examples so that the owners know their pets get the best possible care. I also love spending time and appreciate pets' companionship while they are in my care. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

I offer caring, reliable and personalised dog care for owners who want peace of mind while they are away. My goal is to make every dog feel safe, comfortable and loved, whether they are staying overnight, coming for day care, or needing regular walks and companionship.
I understand that every dog has their own personality, routine and needs, so I take the time to get to know each pet properly. I am happy to follow feeding schedules, walking routines, sleep preferences and any special instructions provided by owners. I aim to create a calm, friendly and homely environment where dogs can relax, play and feel secure.
My motivation for offering dog care comes from a genuine love of animals and an understanding of how important it is to find someone trustworthy to care for a much-loved pet. I treat every dog with patience, kindness and attention, as if they were my own. I've done training to support addressing behaviour in a positive way and therapy dog training.
For the safety and wellbeing of all pets in my care, I ask that dogs are up to date with vaccinations, well-socialised, and suitable for a home boarding environment. I am committed to providing regular updates, plenty of affection, and a positive experience for both pets and their owners.
For safety, I only take on dogs I feel confident I can care for properly. Max 2. Dogs at a time for boarding or day care. I introduce dogs carefully and calmly, monitor behaviour closely, and avoid situations that may cause stress or overstimulation. There is ample room for dogs to have their own space if necessary. Dogs are not left alone for long periods, and I make sure they always have access to water, rest, supervision, safe environment and Daily 1hr walks and games for stimulation.
In the unlikely event of an emergency, I would contact you immediately and follow your preferred vet or emergency care instructions. Your dog’s wellbeing is always my first priority.
Luna has been trained as a therapy animal, and is great with other animals and people. She is very good at helping others relax and feel comfortable in new environments.

Having just moved to Canberra from overseas and no longer having pets, I'm super excited to join pawshake. What better way to get to know a new city, then by exploring with a four legged friend? I grew up having dogs (a Labrador and a Golden Retriever) a three legged cat and some chooks but in general love all animals as you can see in my pictures. Until recently I had a cat which I was really crazy about. Having a dog and working full-time sadly was too hard so I looked after dogs (a Husky and Labrador) before via an app similar to this one, back in The Netherlands. In my spare time I love to go for hikes and play tennis. But let's be honest, both are even more exciting when you bring a dog, right? With dogs I love to go for long walks, a swim, or a play in the park but I'm also happy to go for a shorter walk and some cuddles if your dog might be a bit older or less active. I'm a social and easy going guy and love dogs that are social and easy going too. Of you have any questions, please let me know by sending a message. I hope to see you and your furry friend soon! Bas

Hey guys, so my name is Jess and I am looking to pet sit dogs or cats. I grew up on a farm so I have been around animals my whole life and have always been an avid animal lover. Up until recently we had a small dog named Tyson who loved cuddling, but loved his walks even more. We would love to be able to pet sit while we don't have our own pet currently. I have done a lot of travel in the past so I know what it's like to need someone to look after my fur child. I have a small house with an enclosed backyard, and am very close to a decent sized oval. I am happy to accommodate any needs wherever I can so just swing me a message and I would be happy to help! Please note that I have a baby (not yet crawling around) so please let me know if this is a concern.
