Hi there!
My name is Kayla, and I am a 23 year old Canadian living in Australia on the Sunny coast!
Back home in Canada I worked in the Veterinary industry for over 2 years. I did my education at CAT university in Kelowna, British Columbia, and got my Veterinary assistance certification in 2021.
After that I spent the next couple of years assisting in surgeries on both small and large animals, performing X-rays, caring for sick patients, and learning an incredible amount of knowledge on animal behaviour as well as the health & welfare of all living things. Although the career was mentally challenging, it was also incredibly rewarding. Being able to support pets and their owners is something I'll always treasure.
I then started a small dog sitting business and cared for an array of different breeds (& species!) and had many re-occurring clientele back home in Canada.
I made the decision to move to Australia with one of my coworkers last year, and just arrived about a month ago! I'd love to be able to work with animals in a healthcare environment again soon, but in the meantime being able to care for and play with them is all I can ask! You can trust that I have extensive knowledge on caring for your pet as well as knowledge on different medications, behaviours, and emergency situations. I am able to administer medication, feed, walk, clean litter boxes, groom, clean cages/crates, go on long walks, train & provide comfort to your fur babies.
I currently do not have a vehicle as I just moved here, so I will have to take cabs/the bus or walk, therefore prefer being in the Maroochydore area but can make the trip for certain situations (:
