Ella

Hi! My name is Ella, I'm twenty one years old and am currently studying Health Science at the University of Queensland.

As a child, whether it was making sure each street dog I passed was fed or each abandoned kitten was brought home (sorry mum), my heart has always empathised with animals. In 2010, I was fortunate enough to turn my family of five into seven as my two beautiful dogs – a Golden retriever and an Aussie Shepherd - were welcomed to our pack. Due to my boys living back in Melbourne, I am missing having animal love in my life! My strong adoration for nature alongside my passion to help those in need lead me to Pawshake, where I hope to help families care for their animals.

As well as also being a pet sitter on MadPaws, my multiple years living abroad has equipped me with years of animal welfare experience. In Malaysia, I volunteered at the SPCA, helping organise projects such as walkathons to raise funds for the organisation and coordinated campaigns that promoted awareness of animal abandonment and neglect. Additionally, I helped operate a rescue center for cats and dogs to aid the health status of homeless animals. I have also volunteered at the Care for Dogs animal shelter in Thailand where I raised awareness of the needs of stray animals in the local community, promoted responsible pet ownership and was taught how to reduce the overpopulation of street dogs through spaying programs and local adoptions.

Working alongside a professional dog trainer has allowed me to establish a clear and caring command system. This means that your dog will feel safe and confident as we explore the area(s) together. I would prefer if dogs were vaccinated as socialisation is a natural and enjoyable part of any walk for your dog. Of course, if your dog is a more introverted character, this will also be accommodated for! :) I am based in St Lucia where there are an abundance of parks, walking trails and of course, paths along the Brisbane river!

Seeking care for cats and other furry friends (or feathery)? My dad is a twitcher and my mum a cat lover so there is plenty of love for all!
