Hi!
My name is Lina and I'm a 24 year old female working professional who works 5 days a week with 2-3 days working from home. This makes my time super flexible and comfortable for pet sitting! I became interested in pet sitting after my friend needed me to cat sit her 3 cats while she travelled for a month and I enjoyed it so much and took really well to it!
When she brought the cats to me, she informed me that she recently took them to the vet and discovered that one of them had an eye infection. Additionally, another of her cars was a kitten with cat flu so had to be separated from the other cats. I can now say I have a lot of practical experience and research under my belt on how to navigate infections and other issues when it comes to pet sitting cats.
I can happily say that the cat's eye infection has now healed as I made sure to regularly and routinely provide medication in the form of an antibiotic ointment and eye drops administered twice a day as prescribed. I enjoyed my time spent with the cats even if they had to be kept separate due to cat flu and I can also say that the feeling was mutual as the cats are still excited to visit to this day and thoroughly enjoy playtime.
I also have experience introducing new pets to each other as my friend asked me to introduce a resident cat to a new kitten and after a lot of research, patience and loving care, I successfully introduced them to each other who are now the best of friends despite getting off to a rocky start due to their troubled childhoods.
I'm a sensitive, caring and passionate person who loves animals and has a deep affinity for living things while also being responsible and reliable with all things including work and taking care of others. Pet-sitting is ideal for me given the nature of my job which involves 7 hours of work a day, 5 days a week, with 2-3 of those days working from home. I'm a very chill, low-key person otherwise with my weekends mostly spent reading, watching tv, taking up hobbies like sewing or jigsaw puzzles or life admin like cleaning or shopping.
I live in an apartment in Newtown but I live on the ground floor with a balcony in a closed off courtyard with shop fronts so it is very quiet, private and modern as the apartment is newly renovated and clean with vinyl wood flooring and pet-friendly furniture (I furnished the place myself!) I own a cat tree and drinking fountain as well as other pet items due to my tendency to go above and beyond for the pets I sit because I love seeing them happy and excited!
I pretty much live alone as I have one housemate who stays with his partner so I don't see him very often as he rarely comes back to the house. He is however a current university student studying medicine and computer science at USYD who is also willing to provide care and help for the cats while I am in the office if need be. He also has a love for cats and has happily offered help in the past when I have been pet-sitting for friends or acquaintances.
It can get lonely and boring sometimes so pet-sitting also provides an ideal opportunity to make a positive difference, help others while also benefiting from getting a little spark back into a routine life. Let me know what arrangements work for you!
My rates are negotiable but ideally I would charge $5 an hour if it's for less than a week or $250 if it's for a period of a week or more.
I'm happy to discuss what sort of services this would involve such as house sitting, vet visits, purchases of toys and other items, pet walking, feeding, grooming, bathing, play dates, providing pet-friendly accomodation, administering medicine etc.
Looking forward to meeting you and making some more furry friends! 🤗
