We are dog people living in a happy, loving family home.
Our family consists of our daughter (Ava: 16 years), dad (Jason: 50 years), mum (Michelle: 47 years), Theodore (5 year old Great Dane) and Charleston (4 year old Beaglier).
When we purchased our first home, we didn't feel like it was complete without Harriett, a Saint Bernard puppy. Since, we've been blessed with dogs of all shapes and sizes - Saint Bernards, Beagle/Beaglier, Great Dane and Boxer and have a love for all dogs.
Theordore and Charleston are well socialised and love other dogs. They live inside but also have a big, secure backyard in which to run and play. They are truly part of our family and we just couldn't imagine life without them.
We are very particular about who we'd leave Theodore and Charleston with and understand that it is often difficult to find a sitter for a large breed. We have been lucky in finding sitters in the past and want to provide peace of mind for other pet parents. Our previous experience is in looking after our own pets as well as sitting for family and friends. Jason also worked for the RSPCA as an animal welfare night attendant (assisting with emergencies, handling surrenders, etc.) for a number of years. During that time, we adopted a rescue cruelty case - Matilda - she was a Boxer x Saint Bernard and desperately needed food, love and lots of cuddles. She lived out her days happy, sincerely loved and with
a full tummy!
We each work 2-3 days per week from home and can coordinate to always have someone at home if needed. Otherwise, the back lawn is huge, fully fenced and has a large, undercover area/kennel space with dog beds (approx. 5 sqm) where they can freely come and go.
For the wellbeing of our own boys, we welcome fully vaccinated, well-socialised dogs and are very comfortable and capable of administering any required medication. We also have a fully-fenced dedicated dog park nearby.
We both have completed police checks via Checked.com.au (as Intercheck offered by Pawshake was not working at the time of setting up this profile).
We also provide daily updates with photos and / or video and typically do so in the late afternoon or evening, to recap the day of fun and activities. If your expectation is for more regular updates, please let us know.
Full refund if canceled before 12:00 p.m. 7 days before the booking, 50% refund afterward.
No refund is payable if the booking is canceled on or after the start date.
Note: All times are based on the sitter’s time zone
Doggy day care and Dog walks always have a flexible cancellation policy:
Full refund if canceled before 12:00 p.m. one day before the booking, 50% refund afterward.
No refund is payable if the booking is canceled on or after the start date.
Jason and Michelle were friendly and took care of our Staffy mix for a week. Their two dogs are very sociable, and I believe they generally get along well with most dogs. However, I think their communication and updates could improve. They typically provided only one update per day, usually late in the evening, and at times there were no updates for 24 hours. I feel two updates a day with photos would be more appropriate. Overall, we are not satisfied with the service due to lack of communication and updates.
Response from Sitter:
Hi Cindy,
We are dissappointed to learn that you were not satisfied with our service as we pride ourselves on providing exceptional care for our furry guests. We typically provide updates in the late afternoon or evening, to update on all the fun and frivolities that have occurred throughout the day. Had you let us know about your additional needs regarding updates, we would have happily met your requirements although, we did think that 10 updates in 6 days with photos and videos (21 messages in all and certainly never more than 24 hours apart) was a good quantity.
Jason and Michelle looked after our dog so well! Very loving and caring and felt confident leaving our big dog with them!
