About Sophie
Hey! I'm Sophie, 31, a swim teacher and originally from the UK! I've lived in Australia for 2 years now... mostly in Melbourne and Darwin but recently moved to Townsville to settle with my partner. I absolutely love it here but feel I am missing that fur love in my life!
Growing up I had numerous pets ..cats, dogs, gerbils, guinea pigs, hamsters, rabbits...so I've always been obsessed with animals and in their presence!
I have a variety of pet sitting experiences here in Australia and back home in the UK. Mostly I have pet sat for couples in their own home (either dogs or cats) whilst they are away on holiday, usually between 2-4 weeks and has either been for 1 -3 pets.It's always super fun meeting a new buddy or 2 and getting to know their cute and quirky ways.
Over the years I have had several volunteering experiences with wild animals too, working with elephants in Thailand and recently crocs, rescue wallabies and possums and ofcourse camp dogs in Darwin at a safari park! Last year I also worked as a kid rearer on a goat farm caring for new born baby goats by feeding and checking their health constantly. Honestly being around animals brings me such joy!
I am happy to administer medication such as tablets or powders with food. However I have never injected an animal before so this I am not comfortable with, apologies!
I work casually only 3 days a week (weds arvo, sat & sun mornings) for 4 -5 hours a shift, so I am free a lot of the time :)
It is only my partner and I at my residence, he works quite a lot but if around he is more than happy to help out with games and cuddles! But predominantly your pet will have all of my attention and care, lucky things! Haha
More than happy to take on regular bookings! I have my own large car and live near the Ross river walking track and a big dog park in Douglas. My garden is fully fenced and gated. Your dog will be able to roam free in the house and garden.
Walks I will cater to how long you wish for them, if dogs only need a short walk or a big long one I am happy!
When spending time with me your loveable buddy/s can expect long walks, games, cuddles, pats, chill outs... aaaand probably me singing and dancing the day away!
I only accept Vaccinated pets.
