Hi, I am Lucy. I am a building designer in the Southern Highlands of NSW. My own home is currently under renovation and our dogs are staying with my children and their dad until we can move back into our house. I miss them like crazy, and all the wonderful walks we do, and would love to fill the gap with caring for yours until then. I work from home so have a very flexible timetable. I will walk for far longer than the stated 30min walk if you have particularly energetic dogs. It's important for me to see them happy and properly de-bounced when they get home! 

I worked part time as a veterinary receptionist in Mittagong for 8 months, before starting my own design business, and befriended everything that walked through the door, learning a great deal about handling happy and nervous visitors alike, how to prepare and administer medications and how to bribe even the most recalcitrant into their best behaviour! I also learnt to listen well to owners about their cares and concerns for their pets. I have no veterinary training but can dog-whisper admirably, will play endlessly, love generously, see to daily routines, and confidently administer topical, injected and oral medicines with appropriate instructions. I have cat and dog sat for many friends over the years both in my home and in their own.

I have lived on a farm for almost 20 years, raising and caring for a wide variety of animals - pigs, chooks, ducks, turkeys, geese, a house cow (and her calves), a horse and pony, sheep, rescued wildlife (as a licensed carer with WRSC) and of course dogs. Daily routines, feeding, special medical attention when required, even training (if necessary) and happy play time are all part of my understanding of what is involved in caring for your pets. I also ran an orchard and large vegetable patch during my farming years, and love to potter amongst plants, so would be happy to take on gardening duties as well for a negotiable fee. 

I'm very responsible, calm and patient with animals, and clean and tidy in my habits. I don't smoke or do drugs. I drink moderately, can no longer stay up past 10pm (unfortunately!) and, from choice, will walk miles, play the piano, read and listen to the radio. I have my own portable keyboard (with volume control and headphones) so can keep myself entertained anywhere without bothering anyone else. I will care for your house as much as your pets, so that you can relax and really enjoy your time away.
