My husband (32 - British) and I (35 - Australian) are two dog lovers who live alone in a spacious house in the beautiful leafy neighbourhood of Eaglemont. We unfortunately recently lost our own dog, and do not feel ready to have our own again, but would love to take care of your dog when you need, and provide them with a home-away-from-home.
Between us each growing up with family dogs (Collie Cross and Chow Chows) and looking after our own rescue dog (Amstaff), we feel we have good experience in caring for dogs of different shapes and sizes! You'll see from our pictures there is no dog we don't love!
We both have hybrid working jobs, which means 4 out of 5 working days at least one of us will be home all day. We are active and love to go for walks around our neighbourhood and the Yarra trail, but spend most evenings at home in front of the telly (middle age hit us very quickly!) We used to walk our boy twice every day and he went everywhere we did, and there are a number of parks a stone's throw away.
We do not currently have any animals or children, so your dog will have our undivided care and attention. In order to keep all other dogs we care for safe, we will only accept vaccinated, wormed and flea treated dogs, and won't care for more than one owner's pet/s at a time - unless this is what you prefer.
We have a large dog door with access to a sunny and grassy yard with plenty of sniffing potential, so your dog has somewhere comfortable to hang out inside and out!
We believe trust is key, and we will provide updates and honest and open communication before and during your pet's stay.
Please let us know about any special requirements for your dog (medication, reactive, strong barking tendencies, not toilet trained, etc) so that we can discuss relevant arrangements. You must please tell us this at the meet-and-greet (or prior), so that we can agree together how to manage these.
As we rent, although we understand 'accidents' happen with dogs in new environments, we will unlikely be able to accommodate non house-trained dogs or dogs with incontinence issues.
PLEASE NOTE: As Greg and I work from home 4 out of 5 days a week, if your boy / girl will be staying with us for a week or longer it is likely there will be one work day they will be home alone (approx 8am - 5pm).
We do have a dog door and a fully fenced backyard, however at one section the height of the wired fence is approx 4ft (though there are some trees and shubbery which also obscure it). Therefore, if you think it will be an issue for your dog to be left home alone for a day between those times - either with the dog door open (noting height of described fencing - it was sufficient for our Amstaff but some dogs are better escape artists than others!) or enclosed in the house until we got back from work - please let us know so we can discuss alternatives.
Your dog will be part of our family for the time they are with us.
We look forward to meeting you!
Full refund if canceled before 12:00 p.m. one day before the booking, 50% refund afterward.
No refund is payable if the booking is canceled on or after the start date.
Note: All times are based on the sitter’s time zone
We left our dog in the care of Tatum and Greg for five weeks and couldn’t be happier with their service. From our initial contact and meet, we felt very confident and comfortable leaving our girl with them and they were perfect. Thank you!
Jacket had the best time! I got so many photos of him playing, walking, and napping. He got a walk in before I came to pick him up, which meant he was a very sleepy, cuddly boy when he got home - the dream!! Thank you so much Tatum and Greg!
