We are a family comprising of myself and teen daughter and our 11 year old Mini-Schnauzer "Huey" (who is the King and light of our home :-) ).
We love animals of all kinds and frequently mind them for family and/or neighbours. I have also just started volunteering at Monica's Doggie Rescue at Ingleside (a few hours on weekends) so have exposure to many different dog personalities.
As I work from home I have the flexibility and good fortune to care for dogs in our home. This includes a morning and afternoon walk for our Huey, along with any accompanying dog. We are fortunate to live near an array of dog parks and walking areas and often let Huey off for a run. He is a most placid and cruisey Schnauzer and has never shown any aggression to the many dogs we meet outside or in our home. Because he is so placid he is a very calming influence on any dogs experiencing separation anxiety. He is fully vaccinated, regularly groomed and clean, fully toilet trained and content to be on his own for periods of time. We would expect any dog we mind to be too.
Your dog would have the companionship of Huey and the run of our home/townhouse which includes two levels and grassed garden (fully fenced and accessed through a dog door from living room).
Our Mon-Fri daily routine usually kicks off with a morning walk and coffee enroute (either before I start work at 8.30am or mid-morning/lunch time), brekkie and a play with toys. I then work in my home office (usually with Huey perched on his warm bed behind me). Weekends are a bit more relaxed with outings but always at least a walk a day.
I occasionally leave home to shop, collect my daughter or run errands.
We would treat your dog like ours and welcome him/her into our home.
