I'm Doug, I work in wildlife conservation, and love animals especially dogs. I'm lucky enough to

work from home

Wednesday through to Friday. My wife also works from home every, she's a researcher in animal cognition. We have a huge fenced back yard (~550sqm) with shade and a baby pool.

We also have a 11-month-old Kelpie, who is incredibly social and loves other dogs. She's great at matching the energy level whichever dog she meets, whether its chilled & timid or crazy and wrestling. She always starts submissive and then responds to your dog, so she's great with a range of dogs, including the super timid or older dogs.

She also loves chilling in the backyard in the sun. Every few hours we usually take a break outside with her and do some fun

training. As a result, she's got incredible recall, sit roll, find the toy, leave -it, wait and a few other fancy tricks too.

I'm versed in positive re-enforcement training. I'll certainly try teaching your dog a trick or two, but I don't promise results - especially if you haven't taught your dog some basic :P

We take Tawny to the dog park first and last thing every day, where she says hi to every dog and most dog owners almost without fail. One of us will usually be home all day, and we’re unlikely to duck out for more than an hour, but that would depend on the dog etc.

I'm offering doggy day-care from Wed-Fri. Although occasionally, I will be away all week so will try keep that updated in my calendar.

To start with, I won’t be taking more than one booking (2 dogs max) at a time.

Our main motivation is to have a mate for our girl and also to meet some like-minded owners, My wife and I have used Pawshake several times when we’ve gone away.

I've previously had a couple of long-term

Pawshake dogs to look after 2-3months and have had great feedback.

I usually send a pic or two of the dogs having fun – When my dogs at day-care, I know it really helps to get a photo update showing she’s happy.

Dogs that I won't consider sitting include:

1. Unsocial dogs,

2. Dogs with serious behaviour problems,

3. Large >20kgs,

4. Breeds that can be aggressive (and mixes of): bull terriers, pit bulls, rotties, bull mastiffs, staffies, dash hounds, and German Shepherds.
