Gracie

Hi! I’m Gracie. 

Caring for and spending time with animals is one of my biggest passions in life. 

From a young age, I have always found so much joy in getting to know all of the different and unique personalities of each animal I have cared for. 

I grew up with two beautiful dogs, Ziggy and Coco, who both taught me so much about the responsibility of looking after animals and ultimately began this passion of mine. I had the privilege of caring for them in their final years when they were both diagnosed with terminal illnesses. 

In 2021, I completed a certificate II in Animal Studies through TAFE SA. During this course, I worked with many different species including birds, reptiles, cats, dogs, and bunnies. This course taught me the fundamental skills for undertaking basic health checks on animals and how to provide care for sick and injured animals. I prepared food for animals with special dietary needs to ensure they were receiving the correct nutrients. Cleaning and maintaining the conditions of the animal enclosures and living areas was another task I frequently performed during the course. 

This year I had the amazing opportunity to spend a month volunteering at ‘Little Oak Sanctuary’. Little Oak is a sanctuary located in NSW for rescued farm animals. Their mission is to create a world where animals are treated with kindness and compassion. This was one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. During my stay at Little Oak, I managed the twice daily feed runs, feeding over 330 animals that call Little Oak their home. I also assisted with medicating and caring for the sick, elderly, disabled and baby animals. For example, providing post operative care and medication to chickens and bottle-feeding lambs. 

I have worked in a dog day-care and grooming centre where I supervised 35 dogs at a time and ensured they were being kept safe and happy.

SERVICES AVAILABLE:

Pet sitting-

Meet and greets are free of charge and are required in advance of all pet sitting bookings. 

I am available to pet sit on all days of the week. I love spending time with the animals in my care. I will keep them company throughout each day and stay with them all night. Dog walking is included in my pet sitting fees.

I have been trained to administer oral medications and am happy to do this if required.

I'm more than happy to water plants, bring in any mail, and take bins out and in while you're away. I will make sure the house is kept secure by locking windows, doors, and gates as required. Security needs can be discussed during meet and greets.

Pet/Dog walking- 

I am available for pet/dog walking every day. I will walk your dog in your neighbourhood (let me know if you have a preferred location). The duration of each walk is 30-40 minutes. Message me to discuss times that suit you and your furry friend. 

Check ins- 

I am happy to check in on your pets twice a day for 15 minutes at a time. Times for this service may vary. Please message me with specific requests.
