Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to browse my profile. I hope you find what you are looking for, for your treasured furry/feathery family member/s 🐕
I am 36 years of age and am an avid animal lover with a special love of dogs. I have grown up with pets of all kinds and at 14 years of age, started my own dog walking and pet & house sitting business in my small neighbourhood.
I presently have one dog, Fergus (10.5 year old Irish Terrier - medium sized dog of about 20 kg) who is the light of my life. He is well socialised, has attended obendience classes & is good with other small and medium sized dogs.
I can accommodate small and medium dogs of up to 20kg. Sorry, I do not sit dogs over 20kg (large dogs) or boisterous medium dogs - unless your pooch is a return guest who Fergus is already friends with. Apologies, I also cannot accommodate puppies.
I take a maximum of 2 bookings at a time to ensure each dog gets the love and attention they deserve. Your doggie will be treated as a loved member of my little family during his/her stay with me, meaning they will be played with, patted/cuddled, taken on walks with Fergus, taken on any dog appropriate outings we may go on, and will spend evenings relaxing in the lounge room watching TV.
I have a fully fenced large back yard with trees providing shade, a big grassy area for your pooch to run and play around freely during the day, a variety of dog toys, sheltered veranda complete with dog baskets and an insulated kennel - so your dog will always have a comfortable space out of the elements/weather. Shell wading pool can also be provided in summer if your dog likes to splash around (Fergus is not a fan of water!).
For dogs boarding with me, please provide your doggie's food & food bowl (as it is better for him/her to stay on his/her regular diet so as not to experience tummy upsets), lead, harness, medication with instructions (if required), and their regular bed (this can minimise separation anxiety).
I am happy to send you photos and updates daily.
For new boarding guests - it is a great idea & I encourage you to book & trial a one night stay after a successful no cost meet & greet. This way your dog becomes familiar with my home, Fergus & myself before a longer stretch of time away from you (which can ease separation anxiety) and everyone can have peace of mind that it's a good fit 😁
My sister is a vet and while distance means she cannot treat Fergus or any doggie guest she is just a phone call away for advice in non-emergency situations. I always use Positive Reinforcement Training Method with my interactions with dogs.
Fergus is desexed, fully vaccinated, wormed, flea & tick treated and registered with the local council so I request that your doggie is also desexed (including male dogs) up to date with vaccines and flea/tick treatment and registered with your own council. Please bring proof of desexing and c5 vaccination to meet and greet. Understandably, your pooch will need to be friendly with other dogs.
I am happy to accommodate outdoor or indoor sleeping, and feeding up to twice per day (morning and/or evening) to keep with your dog's regular routine. If you have any other special requests, you are welcome to discuss these with me also. Pick up and drop off potentially available (but not included in quoted daily boarding charge) - please ask for more particulars if required, as cost will be determined based on distance.
I am also happy to accommodate boarding of birds or small animals who will be housed on my front veranda so as to be kept away from Fergus (to prevent stressing your small animal family member) or inside the house.
HOME VISITS (only available to addresses in Prospect and surrounding suburbs) are of 1 hour duration (including travel time door to door), where I can do things such as collect your mail, tend to any animals, open/close curtains, turn on/off lights, water plants, put clothing on/take clothing off the line so it looks like you are at home. Any extra time within the 1 hour I am happy to spend sitting/playing with any pet that needs company. 30 minute visit at approximately half the quoted rate ($35 for 1 x daily visit or $60 for 2 x daily visits) available if you live in very close proximity.
If you require DOG WALKING as a stand alone service in Prospect or surrounding suburbs, please enquire. I cannot always offer same depending on my availability, but will do my best to accommodate. I only walk dogs that are placid & not aggressive on a lead. Walking is for 45 minutes, including travel time door to door.
I am also now offering HOUSE SITTING, when I am not sitting dogs at my house. Preference given to houses in Prospect and surrounds but please inquire in any event if you think I may be the right housesitter for you.
Fees include Pawshake insurance for your peace of mind.
I look forward to meeting you and your doggie or other animal family member 🐶🐾
