Hi,
I'm a 20-year-old who first began working with dogs aged 15, at Club K9 on Argyle Street. I volunteered regularly at Brightside Farm Sanctuary and found that working with animals is something I love doing. I began dog walking on a frequent basis while living in Melbourne, but since moving back to Tassie I have not yet had the opportunity to take advantage of the lovely natural surroundings and get dog walking again!
I live with my partner and friendly six-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer in our house in New Town, within walking distance of Cornelian Bay Oval and its bush tracks (our Pointer's favourite spot!) Queens Domain and the Soldiers Memorial walking trail are also not far away. I grew up in Hobart and am very familiar with the walking trails, from Knocklofty to the Hobart Rivulet track, the Cascade Walking Trail and the Resevoir Circuit. There also a number of dog-friendly and off-leash reserves in the Moonah area near us. I'm more than happy to pick up dogs and take them on their favourite local walks as well.
I have experience walking dogs of many shapes, sizes and temperaments, including traumatised dogs, and as we own our house and its large backyard, I am also open to accommodating dogs overnight, though preferably after having them get accquainted with our own dog, Otti. Paddy was very pleased not only to meet Vita but also when she came to care for him a few days later. When I returned was very settled, had enjoyed his walk and later sitting in shady spots in the garden. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Vita to others with an anxious older boy in need of TLC.
Vita treated my little Charlie to a long walk and a nice stay at home while I was out. From the moment they met, Charlie loved her! Would Recommend!!
