I'm an animal lover originally from Finland with a lot of experience with dogs and horses and some experience with cats. I have had my own dogs since 2012 (papillon x tibetan spaniel and border collie x blue heeler). I have also done a lot of pet and house/farm sitting in both Europe and Australia (can provide references). I also volunteered at RSPCA for 1 year in 2017/2018 as an animal photographer/handler/dog walker so I have some experience with rescue dogs and cats.
While pet/house sitting your dogs would get lots of attention and exercise - standard would be 2x 30-45 min walks (or playing ball/fetch) depending on the dog's fitness level but this can be negotiated. In addition, I would spend some time playing with them in the house or the yard and lots of cuddles of course :) I wouldn't leave your pets alone for longer than 4-5 hours during the day (cats possibly longer if they are used to it).
Other inclusions: Feeding twice a day (or more often if required for puppies), constant access to fresh water, administering any possible medications, cleaning up the yard etc. You would get regular updates and photos (I'm a photographer so the photos will be great :D). I am also happy to water the plants, collect mail, put rubbish out and do other similar tasks.
I can also do basic dog training and I have experience with a lot of breeds, including big dogs (huskies, shepherds, bull arabs etc) and I know how to deal with most problematic behaviours such as excessive jumping, leash pulling, aggression at feed time etc. I have taken care of both active and shy dogs and love them all!
My hobbies include traveling, hiking, yoga, dancing, cooking, books, movies etc. I am a Tourism/Hospitality professional and also a horse riding instructor with extensive experience in horse care. I am doing my Yoga Teacher Training certificate and taking a break from my normal job (hotel reception duty manager).
I will be available for pet sitting in Brisbane in the beginning of December and in Sydney and Melbourne from mid December to mid January.
