Dear friends,
My name is Claire Tong and I am from the beautiful city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I left home and came to Melbourne to pursue my tertiary education at RMIT University and I've been loving Melbourne ever since I came: the food, the weather, the roads, the people and just everything about it makes me happy. However, a part of me still hasn't let go of the fact that I've left THREE beautiful, wonderful and amazing dogs back home. I have a Rottweiler named Fighter, a Doberman called Warrior and a stray dog we rescued whose name is Peanut! Three of them have drastically changed my life, as I was never one to like dogs prior to 2014. But fate has brought me these amazing companions whom I love wholeheartedly and changed my outlook on dogs.
As can be seen in the pictures, back home we let our dogs in the house and they sleep on the same bed as us. My mum could not accept having them sleep outside because she feels that we need to be with them 24/7 - and also because Warrior is A BIT clingy (just Doberman things, am I right?!)! We also fostered my ex boss' dog (the Pomeranian) whenever he needed to go out of town. Besides that, my mum and I used to feed stray dogs at an area near my house and even rescued up to 14 puppies before. You can be rest assured that I have experience with both large breed and small breeds dogs. I have no bias against any breed and I don't discriminate. All kinds of dogs are welcome.
Why pet sitting?
The reason why I chose to be a pet sitter is because firstly, being a student who has very limited experience in the retail, F&B and working 9-5 sector, there is not much I can do. So I thought, why not do something I have done before? - Or at least, had first-hand experience doing. Also because I've been actively looking for a part-time job to no avail, and I really wish I can do something I'm passionate about while earning extra allowance to pay my rent (at least) so that I would not have to burden my family so much. And finally, I have been deprived of a dog's presence for too long and this job can get me to know and understand more dogs (and breeds). This could be my home away from home.
Services
My services include pet sitting at a client's house in the day and dog walking. I can also feed, clean up after, bath your dogs or bring them for grooming if needed. My schedule is a bit tight at the moment due to the fact that I have to attend classes.
Restrictions
I don't particularly have any restrictions on dog size but I am a bit bite sized so as long as your dog is well-behaved during a walk then it should be fine. No aggressive dogs please.
Your pet will have 101% of attention when he or she is with me because I am devoted to being the best pet-sitter he or she will ever have. I hope you will consider me to be your pet sitter! :)
