I am a Canadian PhD student studying in South Australia, researching empathy in a cognitive neuroscience program.
I grew up in a household of animals: 2 parakeets, 2 rabbits, a husky-wolf bled dog, a ferret (who we took on walks), and a guinea pig. Thus, I am very accustomed to a wide range of animals! When I lived in Chicago, my roommate and I took care of our cat Ernest, and then I lived with three dogs, Pele (maltese), Dawa (blue heeler), and Pepper (border collie).
Specifically, I got to play a vital role in training Pepper from when she was a puppy to an adult (2 years old). We trained Pepper to follow non-verbal gestures, Danish commands, and English commands! I am very good at being firm, yet loving and playful with animals.

- I took an Animal Psychology course and worked on a research project in assessing a program with animals used to help treat depression.
- My mother is a Braille tutor for blind and visually impaired college students, and my aunt is blind, and thus I am very exposed to the training that is used with seeing-eye dogs.
