About Myself
My name is Lainey, I am a 24 year old female based in Bellbird Park. I completed my Bachelor's degree in animal-related sciences in 2019 and went on to work as a dog trainer at Petbarn. I am currently working a rotating roster with 9-5 shifts at Animal Welfare League. The residence where I live presently contains three dogs, two indoor cats and several chickens, as well as many fish! I am an experienced pet keeper myself and have many friends who own amphibians, reptiles and birds so I have filled any gaps in my knowledge through them.
My Services
Dog walking
My dog walking service includes 30-40 minutes of exercise with lots of sniffy time to help tire out your furry friends. I provide my own poo bags and occasionally bring along my kelpie, Kai, to have a play and walk together, as I find this is a great experience for friendly dogs that I am walking. I am also happy to take your dog for a small drive to a new location for an extra-enriching experience.
House visits
I presently offer two options for house visits, 1 or 2 times per day. With my current job, visiting 2 times a day works best for me on weekends, but I can also manage it during the week if requested. A typical visit from myself means lots of cuddles, feeding, taking pictures and sending updates. I spend time playing with your pets, providing enrichment through their food and doing some basic training. For households with cats, I check and scoop litter trays on every single visit, not allowing your furry friends the displeasure of using a dirty toilet!
House sitting
As many of my present clients know, I am very selective with my house sitting jobs, to give you the best possible experience. Because I have animals of my own and work 5 days a week, I prefer to keep house sitting to the weekends. I also try to only take on clients with animals who can be left at home for up to a couple of hours, just to give me time to run my kelpie and feed all of my own pets.
My Experience
I have previously pet-sat through Pawshake for a year and have decided to re-ignite my passion. I thrive on meeting new pets and people and learn things from every job I take on.
I have worked two jobs as a dog trainer (and a third as a dog handler) over the past 5 years. I have always had animals around me growing up and therefore have a sound knowledge of how to care for most species. I am also able to care for exotic species and livestock, as work in my degree has given me a base knowledge of their physiology and care requirements.
Being a pet sitter is a great way for me to both follow my passion and to work on a flexible schedule. I love to gain more experience through working with different individual pets and I believe that this job allows me to learn new techniques with every new client.

Lainey was great and sent pictures of our cats everyday. We felt very comfortable leaving them in her care.
Lainey is an amazing pet sitter, she goes above and beyond with her visits with Rebel who absolutely adores Lainey. We will never hesitate to book with Lainey whenever we need a dog sitter
