We are a reliable, capable, animal-loving couple that have been living in Darwin for 3 years after moving here from Perth, where we house and pet sat for over two years. We also have some helpers to cover unexpected life moments, for example, last year I came off my motorbike and had limited mobility for a month and it was handy to have backup walkers and sitters. All our helpers are police vetted and people we personally know and trust. More about them later.
Jo grew up with a menagerie of animals, including dogs, cats, horses, a variety of birds, fish, guinea pigs, and rabbits. She loves animals and can take care of anything furry, feathered or scaled! She is a biologist and has worked previously as a penguin keeper, dolphin swim guide, snorkel guide for manta ray and shark tours and tour guide for wildlife cruises. Paul has lots of experience with dogs, having owned 3 himself and loves to walk and entertain them! We are both fit and active people who love spending time with your pets. We are non-smokers and clean and tidy. We have police clearances and can provide excellent pet and house sitting references.
Our helpers: initially we will do a house sit/ visit meet and greet where we discuss your expectations, then moving forward we introduce the helper best suited to your needs. This way you have peace of mind that if something happens to me or Jo, you know your fur family will still be cared for. Added bonus- improves availability at short notice should you have plans develop unexpectedly. Norm is a retired airforce aircraft fitter. I think he might be a cat whisperer. We sometimes work together to do small renovations, tree felling, and general handyman jobs. Tash (Natasha) is a mum and dog trainer with limited availability for house sitting but great with all dogs and able to offer training for owners who might need a little help or direction. Riley is an adult student who loves cats. She even has a tattoo of her childhood cat Momo. In her mid-thirties, she works part-time cooking.
We can offer pet visits, dog walking and house/pet sitting services at your own house only (we are renting and cannot have animals at our place). For house sitting, we can offer a nightly or weekly rate, which gets cheaper the longer the sit:
Full refund if canceled before 12:00 p.m. one day before the booking, 50% refund afterward.
No refund is payable if the booking is canceled on or after the start date.
Note: All times are based on the sitter’s time zone
Paul did a great job looking after our two older dogs. Two visits a day to our home for walking and medication. The dogs were happy and healthy when we got home. It was also great to have someone coming to the house regularly to keep an eye it. Five stars.
Paul was great. The dogs loved him, he was very conscientious and great about assuaging our guilt and sending photos every day. Definitely will use him again.
Jo has a degree in biology and have previously worked for several years as a zookeeper. Paul has practical handy man experience and tools. We have over two years experience pet and housesitting for which we can supply references.
