Hello! I am Hanna: certified dog trainer with a passion for animals and over 4 years of pet-sitting experience. I am new to Pawshake as I recently moved to Brisbane, QLD in April 2025 from Canada along with my husband as he started his PhD at UQ. While living in Canada, where I lived for the last 7 years, finishing my bachelor's degree and working fulltime, I had the fortunate experience of pet sitting over 30 dogs and cats with a variety of needs and personalities through an app called Rover - an equivalent of Pawshake in Canada (please find reviews below). I have experience taking care of various breeds and kinds of dogs including puppies, seniors, dogs with behavioural challenges, and dogs who require special care. I have also cared for cats, including those with medical conditions requiring medication. I therefore believe that I would be comfortable around, and be able to competently interact with, the wide variety of dogs and cats that need exercise, care, and love!

While I was in Canada, I was a volunteer member of the SPCA and other rescue organizations (Misfit Manor, Bide Awhile, Save a Life Canada, etc.) with experience fostering high-maintenance dogs and cats. My first foster dog, Jewel (chihuahua and staffy mix from Texas), took my heart and she was the reason I decided to study and become certified in professional dog training (graduated from Ottawa Canine School) and got me more interested in the animal welfare field. Jewel was ultimately adopted by my parents in law (what a happy ending for her but also for me!) My husband and I don't own our own pets - yet! But it's a dream to adopt as many as we can in the future when we are ready and settled!

In Australia, we are house-sitting and therefore I am only able to offer dog walking and drop-in visits right now. However, I am currently between jobs and while I have responsibility taking care of the dogs we are house sitting for, I have flexible availability for dog walks and visits in terms of time and location (I also purchased an e-bike).In Australia, we are house-sittig for clients and therefore I am only able to offer dog walking and drop-in visits right now.

As I just moved to Australia and have never been in the country previously, it did not seem worth it for me to do a background check in the country yet. However, I have attached copies of my background checks done in Japan (my home country) and Canada in my profile! Having said that, if you would feel more comfortable if I provide a background record in Australia, please let me know!

Hanna and Conrad did an amazing job looking after our 3 dogs! They were responsive and attentive to details and I had complete trust in them to take care of things while we were away. They are punctual and trustworthy. They also left my house spotless after the week long house sitting! I highly recommend them for senior dogs that may have higher needs as well as for younger dogs that require an extra bit of management. I will definitely use them again in the future.

Provided such amazing care for an extended stay of 6 weeks. Regular updates including photos and videos, diligent care, tons of exercise and even stayed on top of grooming. Fitzy came back better than when I left him with Hannah. You can tell he was well looked after. Highly recommend Hannah!

My dog Minnie is a rescue who is scared of new people, new environments, men and loud sounds. When I realized I needed a sitter and mine wasn’t available I panicked and came to rover with low expectations. When I came across Hanna’s profile I had a sigh of relief, I knew she was perfect for my timid, needy rescue dog! She is experienced with dogs of all natures, especially dogs that need a little extra love/work. Before leaving Minnie with hanna we met up a couple times and I got to see how amazing she was with training, how gentle she was and how dogs gravitate towards her. I had absolutely no worries leaving Minnie with her (which is BIG for me). I was able to go away and not stress one bit about Minnie’s well being, if she was being taken care of the way I take care of her and getting the love she gets at home. I didn’t have to ask for any updates or photos, Hanna sent morning, afternoon and evening updates and even more. It was amazing! I knew everything Minnie was doing while I was away and knew she was in the BEST hands. I also got to meet Hanna’s boyfriend who assists in the dog watching, he was equally as amazing as she is. Minnie was abused by men is very uncomfortable around them and takes a long time to warm up, but after meeting him I knew he would be a great addition to the dog sitting for Minnie. Sure enough I was receiving photos of them cuddling on the couch.. which is unheard of for Minnie that quickly. It’s safe to say that Hanna and her boyfriend have the most welcoming, loving home for dogs of all temperaments! The level of care is unbelievable. I really can’t say enough good things.. 10/10!

Hannah was absolutely wonderful with our little guy Ari. We were visiting Halifax for work, and we were able to schedule with Hannah with ease. Her communication was constant and quick, and she kept us well informed of how Ari was getting on throughout the day. She wasn’t the least bit daunted by our dog’s separation anxiety, and made sure to do a lot of activities with him in the short time he stayed with her. Her instincts and approach to pet care is just exemplary and I can’t recommend her enough if you need someone to watch over your fur baby.

Hanna was amazing! She and her husband met Winry for the first time today and it went so well! Winry has Seperation Anxiety and Hanna was so considerate in regards to it. She made sure to make me feel like she understood what Winry needed and it was easy to trust her. She made sure that Winry would get some physical by walking her and gave her some mental stimulation in as she has her own doggy toys at hom. You can tell that she loves animals and that she has experience with them. Winry and I love her and can't wait for our future experiences with her. She truly is amazing! Thank you so so much again!

Hanna saved our weekend! I asked Hanna to pet sit VERY last minute and, even though she was not expecting an overnight guest, she happily accommodated our pup and my daughter and I were both able to keep our plans and have a great weekend. Hanna was very thorough when asking about our dog’s needs and preferences and she sent photos and text messages while she was dog sitting. I will definitely be hiring Hanna again- our pooch came home happy and tired from the outings she had during her stay.

Hanna S. and Conrad P. have cared for our elderly dog Luey, a hound mix, in our home
several times in the last year for durations ranging from a day to two weeks. We enthusiastically
recommend them for in-home dog care, for the following reasons:

• They are extremely reliable and communicate frequently about how things are going. Luey is
  now 16 years old and has age-related mobility challenges, so we always worry about him
  while we are away. While staying with him, Hanna and Conrad contact us every day with
  photos and updates about Luey’s activities, so we know what is going on. It is extremely
  reassuring to see and hear about how he is doing.  
• Their love for dogs and their extensive dog experience are very clear. Luey cannot run
  around and play like he used to, but Hanna and Conrad go out of their way to find fun and
  enriching activities for him to do, even bringing over their own dog toys and puzzles for him
  to play with. They seem to have infinite patience for his favorite activity, sni ing everything in
  the neighborhood on his walks. They even prepared a beautiful and tasty special treat for his
  16th birthday, which they celebrated while we had to be away. Luey has a great time while
  they are caring for him, and he’s always thrilled to see them. 
• They have lots of experience with special needs dogs. When Luey nicked his toenail quick
  from dragging his hind foot, they contacted us immediately and called our vet to check on
  the best course of action. I feel confident that if Luey had a more serious medical issue in
  our absence, he would be in good hands with Conrad and Hanna, and they would take
  appropriate action and communicate e ectively with us about it.  
• They are very focused on Luey’s care when they are with him, arranging their time to keep
  him on his normal schedule, working from home as much as possible, and managing his
  medicine and physical therapy exercises.  
• They are also very thoughtful and responsible caretakers of our home. They take good care
  of the house and leave it neat and tidy for when we return.  

Hanna and Conrad are the most skilled and professional dog sitters we have employed to care for
Luey. Now that he is elderly and rather frail, we cannot imagine leaving him with anyone else.
