They say that animals and children are excellent judges of character . Both are drawn to me . I’m sure that they can see inside of my heart to reveal a warm, friendly, positive person . I’m blessed.
I live in a comfortable well maintained house . I have a grassed back yard which is small but safe and secure . There are lots of dog friendly spaces nearby ; fantastic parks , trails , beaches and off lead areas (with your permission of course ). I have no gates that can accidentally be left open at the rear of my house where my doggie guest will spend time . My street is safe , conveniently located and quiet.
My guest pet will sleep on my bedroom floor right by my side in his/ her own bedding that you supply please . Double doors lead conveniently to the back yard from here and the meals area for easy doggy toileting day and night .
I have a very comfortable living area with a nice rug for my guest pet to snuggle up on . Unfortunately dogs are not allowed on furniture . They can explore any part of the house and are welcome to make themselves comfortable in any room .
I share my house with one other mature pet loving person and currently no other pets live here , or children . My adult children now live away from home . It is important that my pet guest is friendly towards other dogs because so many dogs are out and about in Williamstown and we are sure to make friends on our daily walks . If I’m pet sitting two dogs they must be easy to manage on the lead , socialised and happy to lead from either side of me .
I’m happy to offer walks up to 1 hour at a time and how ever many times a day that my dog guest requires a walk to make him / her feel at home as I can . Walking duration will be age and breed dependant .
As I’m home most of the time I’ll always make time for play and cuddles. My guest pet will become a member of my little family and no doubt I’ll shed a tear when it’s time to part company.
I’m a retired primary school teacher with a working with children check and a police clearance . I owned a horse farm in the Yarra Valley for 15 years and divided my time between emergency teaching , looking after people’s horses , training horses , training dogs , instructing horse riding and breeding horses . I am comfortable and capable with all pets although I must admit that my time on the farm gave me a “keep your distance “ attitude towards reptiles . Right now is the first time in my 55 years of life that I have not owned my own dog . My beloved dogs died within 6 months of each other last year .
I sold my farm in 2017 and downsized. I travel to Africa regularly to volunteer so I am not wanting to commit to my own pet . Being a trusted pet nanny combines my love of animals and my passion for helping people and pets perfectly !
I am fistidious about communication, honesty and integrity . I have a strong eye for detail and give 100% . I will always treat you and your pet exactly as I would like to be treated myself . I’m also an experienced trainer . Should you have any questions or require personal references please do not hesitate to ask . I look forward to being of service to you and welcoming your pet into my loving care at your home or mine .
Thank you .
Karen has a great understanding of dogs and a lot of love for them. My dog was very relaxed in her care - after 3 weeks away from me my dog barely blinked when I picked him up. He was very clearly comfortable in his new home and settled straight back into his old house. The dog we got back was every bit as good - and even a bit better! - than the one we handed into Karen's care.
Karen took fantastic care of our 17 month old golden retriever in her home for four nights and we couldn’t be happier. Karen met with us and our pup beforehand to get a detailed picture of our dogs needs and sent us picture updates over the weekend. When we collected her it was clear that she’d had a great time with Karen and had been totally cared for.
We would not hesitate to ask Karen to look after our dog again.
