My name is Courtney!
I’m a former administration officer turned professional pet sitter & cat whisperer, based in Melbourne’s Inner West.
I have been providing my pet care services on Pawshake since December 2016.
I am a true animal lover at heart - especially cats! I have over two decades of experience (despite my age) in providing excellent pet care.
I grew up in a fostering family, fostering cats and dogs. As an adult I have fostered for rescue organisations in both Victoria and Queensland.
Having experience with most small animals. I prefer working with cats, smaller dogs, rabbits, rodents, birds (incl. chickens), fish, ferrets, guinea pigs, and other small animals.
I currently do not work with reptiles, farm animals (other than chickens) or exotic pets.
I offer an all year round home visiting service, as well as on leash dog walking, at a small additional cost (available during home visits or as a stand-alone service).
Taking care of your beloved pets’ in the comfort of their own home means I can cater to your pets’ individual needs.
I prefer this method of care, as it reduces stress on the animal - I believe routine is very important!
I am more than happy to work with furry clients with special requirements, disability and separation anxiety.
You’re welcome to contact me for a complementary consultation, regarding your animals specific requirements.
Pets receive the very best personalised care, love and attention while you are away. Rest assured you can have peace of mind that your animal is in the very best hands. I treat each pet as if he or she was part of my family.
Every animal is unique - as are their likes, dislikes, energy level, personality and temperament. I find it very helpful to know these.
Please feel free to let me know your pet’s favourite toy, activity or preferred scratching spots etc.
Complementary non-pet related included services:
- rubbish bins
- collecting mail
- watering indoor pot plants
- turning on/off lights, radios or TVs
- nail trimming ($15 fee applies)
Prior to my visit please ensure your pet is:
1) Registered with local Council and microchip details are up to date (where applicable).
2) Vaccinations and flea and worm treatments are up to date, as recommended by your vet.
3) Pet is in good health (any medical conditions managed/treated). I would recommend discussing any regular medication your pet needs to take, during our meet & greet.
4) Your pet MUST be trained and well behaved!
I am more than happy to recommend local trainers or animal behaviouralists, should you require one.
While formal obedience training is preferable, it isn’t a requirement to book my services. So long as the pet’s temperament is friendly, has no history of aggression towards humans or animals and is manageable / easy to handle.

I am more than happy to discuss this with you. To take the stress out of finding a last minute pet sitter, I accept bookings for Christmas and Easter up to 3 months in advance.

Thank you for your trust!
Courtney was amazing. During our time away we felt informed and secure in the knowledge that Jake was happy and well looked after. Courtney was a pleasure to deal with, super conscientious and even managed to make friends with Jake - which is a feat as he is usually very aloof. She also dealt with some issues with accessing our property due to building work which was really above and beyond the call of duty and we're very grateful! We would 100% book Courtney again and would recommend to anyone else looking for a petsitter.
Our cat and two rabbits loved the attention from Courtney while we were away for two weeks.
