I have had dogs since I was a child. They have always been a part of my family and I treat them like my fur babies. I currently don't have a dog because he died of bone cancer in late 2023. However, although he left a large hole in my heart, nothing makes me feel better than meeting other people's fur babies and having the chance to pat; or hang out with them. My first dog was a St Bernard; he was the funniest dog I think I have owned. I taught him to play hide 'n' seek and if he couldn't see you...you couldn't see him. I then owned a Staffy, followed by a rescue Labrador x Rottweiler and Great Dane x...named Felix of all things. Lastly was my lovely Prince another rescue and German Short Haired Pointer x Bull Arab. He broke his leg and this led to the discovery of bone cancer. He was a 3 legged superstar for his final 3 years after having a leg amputated and if someone commented that he only had 3 legs I would say to him 'oh no, we lost one of your legs' and we would both start looking for it which elicited many giggles from onlookers and a heap of pats for my boy. I would relish the chance to look after your fur babies and would treat them like my own. In other words I could spoil them during the time we were together. I would prefer to look after vaccinated dogs so I don't have to worry about them getting sick if I took them to a dog park or they met another dog out and about. If you gave permission I would also be happy to take your dog to the river or splash park to cool down on a hot day or play under the sprinkler with them. Whilst I am not a trainer I also try to encourage good manners and obedience with small treats as rewards. Something as simple as learning to sit before crossing the road and waiting until told to move off not only makes walking more enjoyable but is also a great safety lesson. I am flexible and will only participate in activities you as the owner give permission for. I am still a big kid at heart myself and can say I will do my best for your dog whether that be a more active session or a cuddle for more senior and sedate fur babies. So feel comfortable knowing your pet will be in good hands and don't be afraid to ask for what your pet needs.
