Hi, I'm Allison and I love all animals.
I have an 12 year old Border Collie called Beau and an 8 year old English Staffy called Marco. I've previously had a kelpie, 4 English Staffordshire terriers and 2 Border Collies.
I've had dogs all my life and I'm confident with all breeds. I used to do dog trials in obedience and agility, and briefly went into showing with my previous Border Collie. During the times of trialling I used to travel all over the southwest and even entered events in the Royal Show. For a while I was a dog trainer with Bunbury & Districts Dog Training Club. Although I'm not into training and trials any more I still use the knowledge I learnt to help me understand dogs and their behaviours. I believe this helps me interact with dogs and form a bond that is really important when dog minding or dog walking.
WHY DID I BECOME A PET SITTER?
I decided to become a pet sitter after needing to obtain this service myself when I wanted to go away, and realised how stressful it can be finding the right one. Our fur babies are the most important ones in our lives and although we want to go on holidays we always have the worry of what to do with them. Although lots of dogs cope well with kennels, I found the best and less stressful solution was to have my dogs in their own home with someone coming to visit them. This way their routine isn't disrupted and they have their own place as usual.
1. DAILY VISITS
Although I can't offer for your dog to stay at my house, if your pet or pets are happy and safe to stay in your home while you're away, then I can help you. Visiting once or twice a day as needed, I can feed and play with your pets. I'm also happy to walk well behaved dogs. I'll also make sure your yard is cleaned daily, check your letterbox, put out the bins or anything else you require to be done daily while you're away.Being retired I am not restricted to a deadline so I can spend a good amount of time with your pet and if necessary I can visit midday just to check on them.
2. "DAY SITTING"
I'm also happy to "day sit" your pet at your home. You may have a new puppy needing playtime and toilet time or a dog that has had surgery that needs company.
3. DOG WALKING
You may just need a dog walker while you're unwell or recovering from surgery or maybe just too busy, then I'm happy to do this as a regular service or one off to help you out.
No matter which service you use, I'll message and send photos to you at every visit so you can be comforted knowing your dog is safe and sound.Your fur baby will be loved and cared for as if they were my own.
