I have been a qualified vet nurse since 2014, entering the profession due to a love of animals and the innate desire to nurture them. Outside of the clinic, I have worked for rescue groups by raising multiple litters of abandoned kittens and I have also performed pet sitting duties for clients from the previous vet clinics I have worked at.
Since moving from NSW to FNQ in early 2020, I decided to take a break from clinic work so I could focus on raising my 2 young children full-time from home. Between my kids and our two rescue cats, I find myself busy and very fulfilled but also missing caring for animals. My husband, children, two cats and I live in a spacious 4 bedroom house in Redlynch Valley with a medium sized, grassy, fully fenced backyard just screaming out for the pitter patter of paws!
On the days my eldest child is not at kindy she will be helping me lavish your pet with lots of love, so only child-friendly dogs can be accepted, however nervous kitties who need their own space will still be accepted and a safe, comfortable room sprayed with Feliway will be their own to relax in. All cats staying in our home will need to be vaccinated so we are not putting our own kitties at risk! Being a qualified vet nurse means that I am able to administer oral and topical medications/preventatives as well as administer injectable medications subcutaneously or intravenously. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays I can be available to spend most of the day with your pet, however from Monday through to Thursday I will be gone for a few hours dropping off and picking up my child from kindy. Dogs who have separation anxiety and don’t mind the car are welcome to come with me for the school run!
The services I offer are as follows:
- Doggie Day Care: I can care for a maximum of 1 dog at any one time in my home. Your dog will be fed (their food will need to be provided by you), have fresh water available to them at all times, lavished with love and affection, medication/preventatives administered if need be and a 30 minute walk (if weather permits).
- Dog Boarding: I can care for a maximum of 1 dog at a time in my home. Your dog will be fed (their food will need to be provided by you), have fresh water available to them at all times, lavished with love and affection, medication/preventatives administered if need be and a 30 minute walk each day (if weather permits). Dogs will be with us inside our fully air-conditioned home, and can sleep wherever they like - except our bed as the cats have already claimed that as their sleeping space!
- I understand how stressful it can be leaving your beloved pet behind so you can count on me to update you daily with photos and videos of your pet being loved and cared for.
I have cared for many animals during my time as a vet nurse, including exotic animals such as rabbits, Guinea pigs, ferrets and reptiles. I love them all!!
Full refund if canceled before 12:00 p.m. one day before the booking, 50% refund afterward.
No refund is payable if the booking is canceled on or after the start date.
Note: All times are based on the sitter’s time zone
Tushka is a very kind and caring person and my little dog seemed very happy after leaving him with Tushka for 3 days. He was treated like one of the family and was very well cared for. Thank you Tushka, I will definitely be requesting your service again.
Tushka and her family took wonderful care of our dog, Jessie. She was comfortable in their home. Highly recommended!
