I have owned and loved furry companions for most of my life! But this is not the case any more since moving to Port Macquarie 5 years ago. We now live in a Lifestyle Village where we are unable to have a cat or dog, and I do miss them terribly. Then I had the bright idea of joining Pawshake, so I could get my animal fix another way, by spoiling someone else‘s furry friend.
I would just love, love, love to spoil someone else’s fur baby because I simply adore animals. Obviously I cannot offer boarding due to the village regulations, but I could visit your pet in the comfort of their own home, after being thoroughly vetted of course. A home visit!
I am a sixty seven years young Retired Nurse, and I would be so happy to walk your best friend, as long as he or she isn’t too big. I have had 5 previous back operations, so that’s why I stipulate no really large breeds, unless they are very well behaved when walking on a lead.
I owned and bred German Shepherds in my younger days, so I am used to large working dogs and do love this particular breed. I have also been around Swift Salukis, Rangy Red Setters, Lovely Labradors, Gargantuan Great Danes and Senior Staffies. I have nurtured mischievous Maltese Terriers and feisty little Jack Russell’s - a very lively and courageous little dog. You want your dog walked? Then I’m your girl! You want your pooch petted? I am a champion cuddler - after all, I’m a Nurse that’s what we do best - Care!
When nursing, I worked with children and disabled clients, so held a blue card and had a police background check for working with children. As I’m no longer working, this is not current but I can assure clients I was thoroughly vetted. I am a non-practicing Nurse who still holds her licence.

June and Colin were wonderful, keeping us updated with messages on how our pets were going throughout the time we were away. I would recommend them to anyone wanting sitters for their fur kids. It was a pleasure dealing with them and we could tell they treated our animals as if they were their own.
We have a regular walking/visit booking with June. She clearly loves dogs and brings a wealth of training experience to our new puppy which has really helped us in introducing him to our daily routines and expectations. June treats our little guy as if he were her own and we really appreciate the detailed updates she provides each visit. We can go to work confident that he is getting the midday exercise and companionship he needs. Thank you June!
