During the last 35 years my wife and I have had two dogs: a female Golden Retriever for 16 years, and a male Labrador-Kelpie cross for 13 years. Our children grew up with the first dog, and our grandchildren knew and loved the second dog, whose name was “Sandy”.

Sandy died in 2014 and we miss him every day; the photos I have attached to this profile are of Sandy. Because we are now retired and have been travelling quite a lot, we have not had a dog since Sandy, because we do not like the idea of leaving a dog for long periods while we are away.

I am fit and active and enjoy walking dogs and having fun with them, whilst ensuring they are well cared for and safe.

We have a large, secure back yard where dogs in our care are safe and have room to move. Dogs are also welcome inside our house during the day and night.

Our 29 years of caring for our own dogs taught us a lot about how to look after dogs properly, and about ensuring they have a good life and are safe and protected. We got both our dogs as puppies and brought them up to be obedient and friendly dogs, who could be trusted around other dogs and people, including small children. We took them for lots of walks and made sure they were happy, healthy, and well groomed.

Any dog who stays with us receives the same love, care and attention as our own beautiful dogs did when they were with us.
