ABOUT US:

My husband and I both typically work from home with our sociable little Boston Terrier, Kumo, and can ensure your furbaby will have plenty of company and attention during their stay. Kumo happily plays with bigger dogs too, and we welcome a free no obligation meet & greet prior to the stay, to ensure compatibility and that we can best care for your dog just the way you would. Where ever possible we seek to exactly mimic all feeding, sleeping, exercise, play and love routines that your dog is used to, to create a comforting home away from home. I’ll also send daily photo updates of your muchkin for your peace of mind and who knows, with all the all the fun and relaxation they’re having you’ll be convinced that they’ve had a holiday too ;)

I’ve had dogs for more than 15 years and have looked after a variety of breeds, including: German Shepherd, Border Collie, Staffy, Great Dane, Boston Terrier, King Charles Spaniel, Beagle and Corgie. I’ve also completed a RSPCA pet minding course and am very open and willing to take on board any special care needs and requests.

ABOUT THE HOUSE:

Our home office, leads onto our large back deck so even outside dogs can see and be near us all day. So long as they are house trained, all dogs are welcome to come inside and outside as they please. Since we are also in the house during the day too, the house is always kept at a comfortably cool/warm, and your dog will be free to be where ever they’re most happy and comfortable. The majority of our spacious four bedroom house has either floorboards or tiles, so the occasional accident shouldn’t be too much hassle. Our shady moderate/large backyard is fully fenced and secure with high locked gates, and the large outdoor deck and garden beds are popular for morning sunbathing. See photos.

CARE NOTES:

• SLEEPING: Please bring your dog’s bedding that they are familiar with. You may like to add t-shirt or jumper you’ve worn but not washed yet to bring a smell of you to comfort your furbaby if you think they may take a little bit to settle.

Although we allow dogs on the bed during the day and snuggling up with us at night over a book, as light sleepers we don’t allow dogs to sleep in bed with us overnight. We can set up their bedding on the floor in the adjoining walk through closet/en-suite with the door open with a baby gate to ease the change if this may be helpful. Alternatively, our dog is crate trained and can sleep inside next to our dog for company

• EATING:

Please bring your own food/water bowls and the food they are used to eating. Meal times will be supervised to ensure your pet eats it’s allocated food and in line wit their regular feeding times.

• EXCERCISE:

I can cater to your dog’s normal walking routines, walking around our many lovely parks nearby, both on a standard lead and a 10m lead (were appropriate) to allow lots of curious sniffing. I also live very close to a dog park, which I can take them to, when its empty to guarantee their safety. Kumo is very likely to be a great playmate so will have lots of chance for dog interaction, and of course we’ll be happily playing with your furbaby too and willl be sure to keep their mind and body active.

• MEDICATIONS:

Please ensure they are up to date on all their worming, heartworm, flea and ticks medications ideally prior to arrival, otherwise supply me with their next dose.

• ROUTINE: Where possible please provide a written outline of their routine and other care notes at drop off. I have template I can provide at the meet & greet that will cover all the important items.
