Hi! I'm Caitlin, I’m 22 with a love for animals of all kinds. My family has two beautiful rescue cats that we adopted at 6 months of age and they are now 8 years old so I am incredibly comfortable with feline needs and quirks - zoomies
at 3am, selective affection, dramatic meowing for food, the whole lot. I’m confident with litter cleaning, feeding routines, play, and just generally making sure cats feel safe and comfortable in their own space. I have more
recently begun to pet-sit for family friends and extended family members which has given me experience with many different breeds of dogs, usually in the medium-large category. In the instances where larger dogs (Australian Cattle
dog and a German Shepard mix) have been in my care I have been able to take them for walks no problem. I always double-check collars and harnesses before leaving, keep dogs leashed unless told otherwise, and stay aware of what’s going on around us. I’m careful with gates and doors and make sure everything is secure before I leave. I know every pet is different. Some are super social and want constant attention, others are shy or anxious and need space. I’m very patient and happy to go at their pace. If they’re high-energy, I’m more than happy to do longer walks or proper play sessions. If they’re older or a bit more sensitive, I stick closely to their routine and keep things calm. When I’m house sitting or doing visits, I try to keep everything as normal as possible for them. Same feeding times, same walking routes if that’s what they’re used to. I’m also happy to send updates and photos so you know they’re okay. I still currently live at home and am currently still on my Ls, therefore reliant on public transport. That being said, as long as there are viable public transport options close to your house, I am more than happy to travel any amount of distance to provide the care that your pets need! I just recently graduated my Bachelors majoring in Psychology from UQ and am taking a little break before I pursue my postgrad degrees! I work a fairly standard hospitality job where I can choose my own hours with two weeks prior notice. I usually work opening shifts 5-6x a week, in the morning between the hours of 5am-4pm (this is the range of hours that my shifts will lie between). This allows me to have afternoons and evenings free which I find suits my lifestyle. I am open to discussing adapting my work hours with you if necessary for the duration of the pet-sit. I am quite an introvert and definitely much more comfortable with animals than I am with people. I adore reading and love spending most of my spare time with my nose in a book in any format! I have also recently learnt how to knit and am hoping to be able to turn that new hobby into a chance to provide blankets and beanies for different charities across Brisbane. Feel free to message me with any questions, or if you’d like to contact my references :)
