About Violet

NOTE: Please read everything before applying with me (that includes previous clients as I have since made some changes):

Hello and welcome to Violet Paws Pet Care!

My name is Violet - I'm 29 years old, and a dog mum to three beautiful Cavalier King Charles Spaniels named Amber, Isla and Lily.

I have always loved animals since I was very young -
especially dogs as I have always had one growing up. Animals bring me a lot of joy and happiness, and they are a true passion of mine, so I'm very excited to get back into pet sitting as I had some prior experience in the past. I also briefly studied an animal course about seven years ago, so I have had some experience learning about different animals and caring for them hands on. I also did pet sitting on a regular basis around the 2014/2016 period, and on and off in between now and then.

Outside of pet sitting, I'm an artist, and I'm studying to become a Holistic Creative Arts Practitioner. I love spending time with my dogs and other animals, creating, reading, writing, nature, Harry Potter, and Disney.

Please keep in mind that I am also studying and may have personal/other commitments during my day, so I will need to work around my schedule. I'll try and update my calendar as frequently as possible, but I may not be able to do certain days or periods of time if I have a study or even a personal commitment, so please message me and I'll let you know my plans. I also don't accept last-minute bookings for this reason - more about that below.

I have had plenty of experience with dogs and I love how they make me feel. I love their playful and positive energy and the way they live their life happily and unconditionally. They don't judge and they will always love you no matter what.

However, I mainly take on smaller dogs - especially
cavies, but most smaller dogs are fine! I adore bigger dogs and I grew up with them, but unfortunately, I do struggle with my physical capacity with walking
stronger ones and also those who pull on the lead. But if there's no issues with your bigger dog there, then that should be fine and I'm open to chatting with you to see if I'm the right fit. There is more information about that below.

I also love cats; however, I have never owned one before. I have some experience caring for them, and I'm definitely open to expanding that experience and knowledge caring for them. Same goes with small animals such as Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, etc.

In terms of my services, I only offer home visits.
Because I already have three little dogs, I can't exactly keep any more pets in my home, even temporarily.

When it comes to pricing, I charge $33 per walk/home visit, and an extra $22 per pet. With 2x home visits, it's $63. However, during seasonal times such as public and school holidays, I charge $35 per walk/home visit ($24 per additional pet), and $70 for two home visits.

With home visits, I offer the following:

· Dog Walking and Feeding, Cat Feeding, and Small Animal Feeding.

· I will spend some time playing with your pet, and also
cleaning up after them, making sure they go to the toilet, and also changing their water etc.

· I am very affectionate with animals, so I promise to
always shower your pet with lots of love and cuddles - although if your animal doesn't like affection, I will most certainly cater to their needs.

· I'm not a professional groomer, however, I enjoy doing little grooming things such as brushing your pet's fur, so I can always do that if you would like me to.

· I can also check your mail, bring your bins in and out
and water your plants if needed.

· I can try to come twice a day if possible - it's completely up to you and what you feel would be best for your pet and also depending on my schedule. Although, please keep in mind that I do charge extra for that, so I understand if it's out of your budget.

· I will often start work in the late morning (around 10
am onwards) and finish up in the late afternoon (probably around 5 pm), so I will be available to accommodate you during those hours. I will spend time with your pet for about half an hour to an hour each visit. I am flexible, so please let me know what you would like, and I will be happy to work around it. I will also send photos of your pet to you and regular updates.

· As I said above, I don't offer last-minute bookings for
the same day, as I'd need at least a few days's notice. That way I can plan accordingly around my schedule, and also so I would have time to do a meet and greet if I've never met you or your pet before.

· Speaking of which, a meet and greet with you and your pet/s is a must, and I won't accept your request if you are not open to it. Pawshake strongly recommends it, and I also have done so in my past experience as a sitter. I feel it's extremely important to do this before making a booking. That way I have the chance to get to know you and your pet, as well as get a good idea of their needs and also to determine whether or not I'm the right fit. I am also happy to do a trial walk with your dog and see how suitable I am to take it on. Please take this into account before booking with me.

· If it is raining on the day, I can come at a time when
the rain has cleared, and we can try our best to have a walk. However, if the rain is quite heavy, I can always just drop by and hang out with the pet/pets in their home, play with them and spend some time with them for about half an hour to an hour or so.

Here is also a list of things I usually DON'T accept – so
please keep these in mind before enquiring with me:

· Right now, I, unfortunately, can't take on any animals who are sick/have a lot of health issues and also have major behavioural issues.

· I get a bit anxious about taking on animals who have the capability to escape the property - especially on or close to a busy road, but in all situations really. That includes escape artists, animals that have been known to try and sneak out the front or back door or gates if anyone enters and leaves the property, etc. I'm always very cautious of this when I enter and leave someone's home, but even so, if the animal has been known to do that, I worry about taking the job just in case this may occur.

· If a dog is very strong and pulls on the lead, it's very
unlikely I'll be able to take the dog on. It really depends on the dog, but I'm just giving you the heads up just in case I may not be a good fit and it's probably better to look for someone who is able to physically handle that. I just wouldn't want to risk an accident for either one of us.

As a paw parent, I completely understand how hard it can
be to find the right person to care for your fur baby. I hope I can be that compassionate and caring person to help you out. Please feel free to get in touch if you are interested.

Thank you so much! :)
