Hey! This is Noreen a HUGE animal lover and passionate about animal welfare. I grew up with cats and they are undoubtedly my fav animal! I connect with animals instantly and I guess they know who they can trust as we all know animals have a sixth sense. I drop into pet shops and animal welfare places just to pat the animals! I had once been to this cat welfare shelter and the description of the kitty read 'timid at first' but it (did not check its gender in my excitement!) gave me strong adorable head butts. I also actually ask dog owners whether I can pat their doggies whenever I see them on the streets. I did volunteer for the RSPCA Victoria btw but not in an animal attendant role.
I myself am a university graduate from a non-animal related field. What triggered me the most to be a pet sitter is atm I cannot keep pets in my house and growing up with cats, it is pretty stressful to be unable to live with one. And I do understand very well how guilty we all feel to be leaving our beloved pets to go about our daily lives. I feel for the pets - the kitties and smaller animals. They might get stressed especially the younger ones and I would like to reduce their stresses and mine along the way, and hopefully the pet owners.
My strongest motivator is my absolute love for animals. I adore animals and cherish every moment I spend with them. Every animal is on my instant friendlist. I genuinely care about these innocent and adorable pets. While I was
in Melbourne I started with pet sitting for Spikey Kitty. A young ragdoll who I played with extensively and cleaned up her 'acts'. In Hobart, I have also pet sitted for a number of furry clients including both cats and dogs. I am confident I can build rapport with other pets as well as animals I pet tend to love me too! I would like to pet sit in the owners' homes since I cannot keep pets at my current place. I would prefer daytime care as I have to rely on public transport for travel and do not generally go out in the evenings unless I am with others. I try to spend as much time as possible with the pet and if doing it as a job, I would not waste my time on other tasks! Especially because, other than it being my job at that point, spending time with the pet is also my passion and my joy! I cannot take large or medium sized dogs for walks and other doggy care as I am not confident about how to interact with them unless they are actually with their owners. I used to be scared of dogs but now I am fine dog sitting for small and (ideally) senior doggies, as I have done so as well. And I would need thorough instructions to take care of small animals such as guinea pigs, ferrets and rabbits but would especially appreciate it given they are on my future pets list! And have never owned them! I can also drop by to feed fish and bird care if required.
It was wonderful that Noreen could step in so quickly over the holidays and she clearly enjoyed being with Oscar.
Noreen did a great job on short notice. Thanks Noreen.
I have an accounting degree! I know a far cry from animal-related ones but that does not make my love for animals any less.
I am an extra compassionate and loving person particularly to animals of course and observant and hard working and detail oriented. I make sure I follow instructions to the best of my ability and I would likely need to be instructed for caring for guinea pigs and rabbits as never owned one.
