About Sophia
QUADRUPLE VAXXED🙌
G’day! I’m Sophia.
I mainly service the Port Melbourne/South Melbourne/Middle Park/Albert Park area for visits near my workplace and home. I used to stay over and look after your pet in the comfort of their own home, however I have recently paused this service so I can spend more time with my older, wiser cats.
If you’re new to Pawshake, I highly recommend you check out some of my reviews from other pet owners, most were new users and are now recurring bookings. I'm here to develop genuine relationships with my pet owners, and in another reality we're probably best friends bonding over our love of pets.

PET MINDING/PET SITTING
I know what it's like to want to go away for the weekend/holidays and have to leave behind your little pet(s)! I love looking after your pet in the comfort of their own home.
DOG WALKING*
My dog walking tends to suit professionals who aren’t able to walk their pups in the morning before work or in the arvo after work.
*Please enquire to confirm availability as I work 9-5.30 and accept overlapping bookings, this means I might not be available in the morning for a walk but I might be available after work (and vice versa).

ABOUT ME
- I'm a designer in advertising. You've probably seen some of my work! It’s a great gig (nothing like Mad Men) so I look after pets on the side because I LOVE THEM. Sometimes pups come into the agency with me and get cuddled by everyone in the office. I still have to pinch myself — I can't believe I get to cuddle pets as an amazing and rewarding side hustle.
- Rescue is my favourite breed. I have 3 little cats, a 1 year old mischief maker I adopted from the streets of Port Melbourne, and two RSPCA sisters I’ve had for 17 years since my uni days. Currently due to their age I have decided to pause my overnight petsitting. My oldest cat passed away in late 2024, I'd had her for 21 years and she was my whole world.
- I previously volunteered at Lort Smith Animal Hospital in North Melbourne for 3 years, where I looked after little cats transitioning to adoption as well as emergency welfare.

THE NITTY GRITTY
- Pet safety: Dogs are on a lead unless I feel it is safe to be off-lead. Safety is a top priority for me.
- Weather: Dog walks are canceled / dramatically shortened in the event of heavy rain or extreme heat. For little cats, I'm happy to put the aircon on for them for the whole day or a timer if I'm able to.
- Highly strung cats: Usually it's love at first sight when I meet cats, although I've had one or two prove me wrong! They are in fact reoccurring bookings, because I respect their space and let them come to me when they're ready. Every cat is different, as much as I want to give them all the cuddles I can read the room and never want to cause further stress. Their humans aren't home and the routine is a bit out of whack, I can still love these cats from afar and send you detailed updates about their well-being.
