An energetic, accomplished, bubbly, single retired Australian lady, with many skills and hobbies, recently returned from one year of petsitting around Europe. (Oh, and a non-smoking lacto-ovo-pescatarian)
I have extensive experience in petsitting, most recently gained overseas in areas including France, England, Spain and Switzerland. These sits included looking after twenty four house and stray cats in the Costa del Sol, two enormous Pyrenees Mountain dogs in an isolated retreat near Carcasonne and two greyhounds in a tiny studio in Geneva.
I can grow my own food, sew my own clothes, cook a gourmet meal and joyfully camp under the stars by a fire. I am an avid volunteer, recently working as a team Leader with Operation Angel. I have also served as a Surf Life Saving Surf Sports Coach, and continue my work with equine therapy for military veterans. I can catch a chicken on the run, let a rat snuggle under my chin, enjoy nibbles from ponies, foster kittens for a local shelter and love to sleep with dogs on the bed.
I lost my beautiful husband over five years ago, and my last promise to him was to 'find my bliss'; and I am now fulfilling that promise. I began my overseas odyssey in November 2018 to feed my soul and fill my heart, moving to Melbourne in December 2019. Then of course, COVID. I have the freedom to travel to any place at any time for the next few years, and would love to visit your home to care for your babies. I am returning to my permanent home on the Gold Coast in February.
Animals are my lifeblood. I am at my best when they are around me. I'm that annoying lady that will pat your dog in the street (after asking permission of course!) or stops to take photos of the horse/cow/cat/bird/sheep...just because. I am the good Samaritan that stops traffic to rescue an animal in distress.
I will look after your pet like they are my own baby, respect your house and belongings and ensure you a stress free vacation. I will treat each pet as a unique individual. If it needs cuddles, they will be provided in abundance. If it needs space, I will just chat to them. Grooming, feeding, walking, training will all be scrupulously maintained to your specifications. I also like to take a daily photo or video, for your personal catch up or just a memory of their staycation.
There just aren't enough stars here to do this review, and Tracey's care justice.
We knew our place and our pets were in good hands from the first meet, and Loki and Chino instantly bonded with Tracey. We were updated daily with pictures and stories and throughout our holiday had complete peace of mind about how our fur babies were doing without us there (which is quite rare). We came home to 2 pets that were clearly so loved and cared for that there was barely a fuss about where we'd been the past week! The house was in a better state than we had left it, and there was even a little surprise welcome home gift in the kitchen. I really could not recommend Tracey enough ❤
I have been a devoted and loving pet owner for my entire life. Growing up in Western Australia, I have owned every animal possible. Guinea pigs, chickens, ducks, dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, birds, fish, snakes, rats, mice, frogs and lizards. My part time job in high school was Veterinary Assistant, and I have recently gained many qualifications in animal care and husbandry. I joined the Army at 17yo, and became a qualified Dental Nurse, giving me further exposure to medical and hygiene practices. I went on to become a Marketing Manager, partly due to my passion for the industry but to be honest, horses are expensive!! I have now retired and as all my pets have also passed on, it is time to share my unlimited love with other animals.
