My name is Jordan, I am a female dog trainer who is 27 years old. I have lived in Canberra 26 years and Sydney for 1 year. Having lived and worked in Canberra for many years, I know the area and where to find safe, dog friendly locations for training, exercise and socialisation. I am active myself so love taking my furry friends on hikes, interesting adventures, swims and to the snow when weather permits. I am able to read dog behaviour and body language so can support how your dog is feeling in the world around them. From years of professional experience, I have good animal handling skills and pay great attention to detail.
I am passionate about being active, outdoors and doing hands-on work. I have worked with animals, predominantly dogs, professionally for 8 years but have always grown up with them as part of the family. My own dog, Leo, is 2.5 years old and one of the most important parts of my day. He comes many places with me, we exercise together and he gets constant training. My family and friends understand that Leo and I are an inseparable pair. Being an animal lover, I have also owned cats, fish, a turtle and cared for lambs so have handling experience with these animals.
Qualifications and Experience:
I have completed 3 university degrees and a Dog Behaviour and Training course. I've worked in a dog kennel & cattery, a dog day care in Sydney and a dog day care in Canberra which also included grooming, puppy daycare, walk & trains, house visits, dog walking and socialisation. Although I appreciate and love all the experiences I have had, my passion is dog training and behaviour.
As I have worked in a kennel, I understand how stressful it can be for an animal to be out of their home environment, and, in turn how stressful that can be for an owner while they are away. I am confident that I can offer a service to avoid unnecessary stress and will provide a professional and comfortable time for you and your pets. I am motivated to be a pet sitter to help owners and their pets live stress free and enrich pets lives through interesting experiences.
Dog Walking -
I will take your dog/s for a walk around your suburb or nearby locations. Depending on the capabilities of your dogs the intensity levels will vary. For active dogs this could be a run, hike or walk. For older, less active dogs this may include slow, short strolls, or breaks of sitting by the lake/park watching the world go by.
The walk itself will be 45 minutes, plus extra time spent picking up and dropping off your dog/s.
Home visits -
Home visits will be 30 minutes in length where I will feed, medicate (if needed) and spend time loving on and giving attention to your animal/s. I can play tug, throw balls and other activities they enjoy. I can also send photos and updates at owner’s request.I am happy to take care of other house related job such as watering plants, bringing in mail, bins and cleaning up.
Jordan did a wonderful job looking after our two dogs over the Christmas and New Years period. The dogs were well cared for as were the plants we wanted watered. Jordan was great to communicate with and I can highly recommend her as a pet sitter.
💖Jordan is very reliable, great communicator and really understands dog behaviour. She is an experienced dog handler and carer.
Our dog "Butcher" had a fantastic time with Jordan. When we got back home after a week away, Butcher looks very happy and healthy. We just couldn't thanks Jordan enough of her amazing works, we really appreciate those daily update messages and photos of Butcher💖
