Hello!

My name's Jasper and I'm a cat herder🤠🐈 and aqaurist🐟. I grew up living with cats and dogs, and was fortunate to have lots of opportunities to interact with a variety of different animals (of course always in controlled settings and in a respectful manner) - such as snakes, lizards, mice, koalas, roos, etc. I even got to spend some time with dolphins once!

I've been looking after animals for 11 years by myself, I won't cheat by including the years my mum was doing most of the caretaking when I was a kid 😂. Now with a total of 3 cats and hopefully soon with a restocked aqaurium (I took a break from fishkeeping when my little danios passed from old age).

I started out a few years ago petsitting/housesitting for friends and their loved ones, and figured why not keep using those skills outside of my personal circle? Also, now that all my cats are seniors, making a bit of extra money would help give me peace of mind that I have enough put away for future vet bills and any future care they might need as they get older.

I'm also a qualified youth worker by trade which can be tiring due to the mental energy needed for the job, so I find spending time with animals to be necessary for my wellbeing - but I also just like spending time with them anyway haha.

I believe in taking the time to understand why an individual behaves the way they do, whether they're a human or animal, as that helps us understand their wellbeing needs and what we can do to help meet those needs. For example, a cat peeing outside of the litterbox isn't doing it because they're a bad cat, or to be a pain in the butt, they're doing it because a certain need isn't being met. I would always be bringing compassion, patience and understanding when looking after your animal bubas.

I don't currently drive (hoping to change that by the end of the year) but will cover taxi/uber pet in case of emergency, as well as having a couple of people on stand-by in case those services have too long of an ETA.
