I have been an avid animal lover since childhood, growing up with an extensive menagerie including cats, guinea pigs, budgies, canaries, a galah, fish, a turtle, mice and rats. I therefore have experience properly caring for all these animals, plus experience in pet-sitting for other people's cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs and birds.

Whilst living in Melbourne, I volunteered at the Lort Smith Animal Hospital, which involved dog-walking, cat-pampering, cleaning and providing enrichment for rescued animals in the shelter. I have previously volunteered at the Adelaide Koala and Wildlife Hospital as well, helping to provide hands-on care for a variety of injured and sick wildlife.

My passion for animals is also reflected in my current volunteer roles with two amazing organisations: Animal Aid Abroad and The Orangutan Project. For Animal Aid Abroad, I assist with newsletter-writing and social media and for The Orangutan Project, I help out at community fundraising and education stalls. I am deeply committed to improving animal welfare and protection and strongly value kindness towards all creatures.

I was a registered occupational therapist for 20 years but am currently working towards a career change. Because I am studying online part-time, I am flexible in terms of availability for pet-minding. I am happy to provide once-daily home visits for feeding, walking, playing, grooming, pampering and all-important belly rubs. In particular, I have a natural affinity for cats, small to medium-sized dogs and more 'exotic' creatures.

People tell me I am very reliable, gentle, caring and conscientious. I have employment-related police checks, which I am happy to provide upon request.
